I love this place. I've only ever ordered as take out so I can't speak to the restaurant experience itself but I can vouch for the food. My Titi Petra makes the best pollo guisado and this is up there with it. We make pasteles every Xmas and these remind me of ours. Every time I order I get a little piece of home delivered to me. And every time I'm visiting PHX for work, I order from here now. Definitely give the food a try!

This was the best puerto rican food in AZ!! I'm from NY and miss home often and this had me travel back in time and space. It felt like a beautiful home in puerto rico with such amazing energy and ambiance. The service was so so kind, and so attentive. I had gotten the pollo guisado and mofongo , and my friend got the camerones with creole sauce, and oh my god was it fantastic. She said the arroz con gandules were sensational. The chicken stew??? Phenomenal. THE TOSTONES AL MOJO is a must order. The owner is such a sweet man as well.

First visit here and I think it was great! Small, quaint, very authentic PR vibes and the staff were sweet as pie. Had my standard fare here tonight - fried plantains for an app (equivalent of two whole ones!) and then roasted pork with rice and peas (I know - that's gringo-speak but you know what I mean!). My friend had empanadas and chicken stew with rice - he thought it was good too. Desert was flan and coconut pudding - very tasty! My only complaint was that the AC was struggling mightily! They had fans blowing but the thermostat said it was 93 degrees in the eating area. I didn't lower my rating for this but just a heads up if you have a more fragile person dining with you. I'd definitely go back!!

I did not know what to expect when I walked into this restaurant. I ordered the lunch, special of pork and yellow rice that comes with a salad. The portions were very hearty. I also ordered a Coke with my meal. This service was very kind, but when my Coke was handed to me, the waitress told me she had a Coke and then told me that it was a diet Coke. I wasn't sure what I got. The same problem occurred with others in my group. Luckily, I got what I had ordered. The pork was tender and savory. The ranch on my salad appeared to be home made. The yellow rice was fluffy, seasoned delicately and contained capers. The salad was fresh. We had appetizers of sweet and savory plantains, both of which came out very fresh and hot, and were very tasty. Parking and a table here were not hard to find. The prices were reasonable, and I would definitely go here again with my friends or family.

We were in the area and I was excited to see a Latin restaurant, so we had to stop in for lunch! The space is spacious inside with about 14 tables. I love the Latin flags hanging up everywhere, the hallway lined with cultural items, and the huge mural of Puerto Rico on the wall behind the cash register. And of course I love the Latin music playing! The hostess sat us at the first table and it was right by the Colombian flag so it was a perfect fit for me There aren't many Latin restaurants (especially by our house), so I was super excited to load up on all my faves. I got platanos Maduros, yuca, and arroz con habichuelas! The hubby got the bistec encebollado with arroz con habichuelas. The platanos were perfect! I love saving them for the end of my meal as a dessert. The rice was of course perfect (I bet the pegao at the bottom of the pot is even better), and the habichuelas had a thicker sauce and the potatoes inside were a bonus! The yuca was different from what I'm used to (I usually do the fried version), but I really enjoyed the tenderness and the flavor of the oil and onions were a great compliment. Hubby loved his dish. The steak was well tenderized and seasoned, and he was a fan of the arroz con habichuelas echoing my sentiments about them.We may live 40mins away, but I will go out of my way to come back here. The service was fantastic, the food was exceptional, and the vibe brings me back to my abuelita's apartment!!Todo riquísimo!

Sad to say but Puerto Rico Latin Bar & Grill is not the great restaurant it once was. People are nice but the food quality and flavors are lost. The Piña Colada: Total Disappointment - I prefer the Piña Colada made by the gas station owner in Iceland after substituting coconut milk and pineapple by dried fish and black licorice.Bacalaito: Thicker than empanadas so it cannot be called a Bacalaito. Too greasy. Lacked flavor.Mofongo con Carne Frita:The mofongo felt like a wrong mutation from Mangú to Mofongo. Don't get me wrong, Mangú is delicious but the mutation simile goes on to describe a weird texture and the absence of the Mofongo seasonings. The Carne Frita looked very appealing but "estaba sosa" (missed flavors).Tembleque:I wanted to have a win from my visit so badly that I ordered a Tembleque as a consolation prize. Unfortunately, it was not good at all; I almost cried. Conclusion: I do not see myself eating at Puerto Rico Latin Bar & Grill again.

Anytime we're in the PHX area will hit this place up for lunch, normally we have a tasty meal but this last time there was no flavor, and very greasy. Also avoid this place in the summer there is no AC and can make eating there miserable.

We had just about given up trying to find authentic Puerto Rican food anywhere in the Valley. So, so tired of Tex, Mex, TexMex, MexTex. We were very fortunate to have found the Puerto Rico Latin Bar and Grill, and met the owner, Wesley. We ordered....and held our breath. Would it be the treat we were so accustomed to back East...where we lived a few short miles from a little Village (Haverstraw, NY), where there was a "rice and beans joint" on almost every corner???We found THE STUFF!The red beans and white rice...the yellow rice with gandules....the chuletas, the fried pork, and the best steamed Yuca (with garlic and onions) I've ever eaten. If you've never experienced authentic Puerto Rican food, you owe yourself the pleasure. And if you have, and thought you'd never find it here....again, you owe yourself.Take the ride. Took us 40 minutes. And we've been back twice.
