We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Argentinian restaurant in Little Italy in San Diego, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience!I ordered my favorite cut of meat, the Entrana, a classic Argentinian meat cut. At $36 for a 12oz steak, it's extremely reasonably priced for San Diego. The steak was cooked to perfection and came with a generous serving of chimichurri, enhancing the flavors beautifully. Husband tried the Picana steak which he enjoyed.Another standout dish was the Pulpo. The marinated then sautéed octopus with olive oil, garlic, parsley, potatoes, and paprika is absolutely delicious. The flavors were vibrant and perfectly balanced, making each bite a delight. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is top-notch. If you're in Little Italy and craving authentic Argentinian cuisine, this place is a must-visit! Highly recommend!

I was craving a steak and Puerto La Boca hit the bill. We ordered the Entrana (House skirt steak) with garlic fries and vegetables to share. The steak was about $36 for 12oz, which is extremely reasonably priced for SD. It was cooked perfectly and came with chimichurri (which could have used a little more salt). The vegetables were simple and cooked well, not too soft. Overall, it was a simple, but delicious meal. Don't forget to dip the fries into the steak juices! Not sure if they still do complimentary bread, but we didn't get any. They do offer a bread appetizer, which I've read is good! Next time.

Argentinian restaurant in Little Italy! Cute old-fashioned interior with densely packed tables. Good wine selection. Friendly staff.I am a fan of Argentinian food, but I must say this is about average when it comes to Argentinian food. Sausage was good, empanadas not so great. Milanese was dry and tough to eat. Alfajores were overly seasoned with coconut. All in all I would say bellow average but good service made up for it to a degree...

Love their empanadas! Their mash potatoes are just like my mom used to make. Delicious food and great service. Not to mention the chimichuri. The best I ever had! They sell the jars so I have at home and eat as a spread, toss on pastas etc. delicious!

A good Argentine restaurant with authentic empanadas and classic meat cuts from the grill for the carnivore. Puerto is centrally located, clean, and with friendly service. We ate Tiras de Bifé (short rib flanken), chinchulines (sweet breads), chicken, morsilla (blood sausages), and chorizo. They served us a dinner for two (we shared with three) with lots of chimichurri. Their wine selection was decent as was the dessert flan which was perfectly creamy.

We have been coming here for years. Discovered this place for restaurant week and has since become one of our favorite restaurant week stops every year. (We also come in when it isn't restaurant week.) Through the years, the menu has changed slightly; but one thing that has stayed consistent is the awesome and friendly service and quality of food. Hubby always orders the Entraña Argentinian steak and rice. I opt for the picaña, but ever since they took it off their restaurant week menu, I order the entraña or salmon. Your meal comes with complimentary bread, along with olives, herbed butter and chimichurri. These appetizers alone will definitely make you full even before you start the main course. You do have to try their empanadas. I always order the corn and cheese, but there is also beef, chicken, spinach and cheese. Try it with some chimichurri! You're welcome!Located on India street in Little Italy; parking is always a challenge. The hubby and I enjoy dining here so much that we don't mind scouting for parking.

Came on a Friday evening to celebrate a birthday! We had a reservation for 7PM, but were struggling to find parking near Little Italy (as always). Thankfully the staff at Puerto La Boca were very gracious and seated us at our table towards the back room. We actually preferred the back room as it was a bit brighter than the main dining hall which was packed with people!Upon being seated we were served very quickly and checked in on throughout the night. The service was great! But the real star of the show was the food. We started with the Bread and Chimichurri, which as all the other reviews state is a must get. The bread was great, but the toppings it came with (chimichurri, compound butter, and olives). We also got a Chicken Empanada to pair with our all beef entrees! This was a great touch, filled with a heartwarming chicken filling. We got the Entrana (Skirt Steak) and the Picana "Al Roquefort" with a side of the garlic fries for both. The Picana is a bit tougher of a cut of steak, but when cut up the flavor really holds. Since the "Al Roquefort" comes with cheese on top, it made an extremely savory dish. It even comes with shrimp which was a great touch! But honestly, the plain Entrana dish was amazing. I have never had a skirt steak packed with so much flavor in every single bite!! There is essentially no sauce or anything, but there is an abnormal amount of juicy flavor in each cut was unbelievable. Cannot recommend this place enough for a great Argentinian style steak!

My first time at an Argentinian restaurant! I've only ever had Argentinian food at my boyfriend's family's house, which is hard to beat. However, this place did a good job. Visited this place while in San Diego, we made reservations earlier that day. Service was a little slow but worth it for the food! I had a sangria which was good! We would definitely be back!

Puerto La Boca, great location in a nice city and good food. It was clean both inside and outside and overall had a solid feel to it with the decor. Being able to see the chefs cook while you sit is a nice touch. I was not wowed or blown away by the food, it was good nothing much more than that. Service was great and friendly and everything about it was above decent.Where I give this place 1 star is the scam. For any tourists or anyone not familiar with this area do not come here. For starters they have an automatic tipping fee with no signs to be seen or any writing on any menus stating so. We were a table of 5 which is already lower than most restaurants automatic gratuity fee, this is fine. Each place is different and that's up to the restaurant. Included bread is not free. Most places who serve bread include it for free, if not it should be stated that it is not free. Them asking," do you guys want to start off with some bread?" after sitting downs make it seems as it is free. We finish a serving and they again ask if we want another, we say yes and again, nothing about being charged. A ticket which should have been 130, without tips or bread came out to 250. I don't mind paying the money to enjoy a vacation with my family, it's feeling scammed from restaurant owners who are greedy, disgusting. Not coming back.
