I had the pleasure of dining at Provisional Kitchen and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food offerings are truly refined, complex, and bursting with flavor. One standout was the Pizzetta, made using a legacy dough starter that results in a perfect crust--do try one of the many varieties available. Whether you choose scallops or beef, their dishes are consistently upscale and sophisticated, showcasing a level of culinary expertise that is truly impressive.Desserts at Provisional Kitchen should not be missed; they provide a delightful sweet food journey that caps off the meal perfectly. Our server was fantastic, informing us of the menu favorites with great detail and remaining attentive and friendly throughout our visit. The atmosphere is open, warm, and sophisticated, with comfortable seating that invites you to relax and savor every moment. Provisional Kitchen is a dining experience that is not to be overlooked.

Everything LOX was really good. It's like a deconstructed version but the flavor was amazing. I also tried the breakfast potatoes and those were yummy. Lastly, tried the Margherita pizza and it was very good. Service was OK. Didn't have a reservation both times I dined here, but got seated quickly the first time and had about a 25 minute wait the second time. Located inside the Pendry.

Super cute brunch location inside the Pendry Hotel. Our reservation for 4 people at 11am was promptly available when we arrived. The high ceilings, chic decor and large cafe/bar made for a comfortable experience. We had two bottomless mimosa which came with 3 homemade syrups - lychee, peach and boysenberry. They were quick to replace the empty bottle. Additional syrups wold have cost extra but we didn't need it. My Bloody Mary was spot on and classic (bacon). The food was delicious and beautiful. My Mushroom Polenta was flavorful and creamy, but yet had the right bite to it. The pancetta and demi-glace balanced out the chili and mushrooms. The soft poached egg was perfectly cooked and runny as I broke into it. There is nothing worst than a hard poached egg. My partner had the Chilaquiles with poached eggs... you see the theme here? Something went surprisingly right with this dish, because during our last bite, it was still crunchy! The correct ratio of salsa roja layered into this dish was incredible. No soggy mess. The pickled red onion and lime crema made the dish light and bright. After brunch you can go outside and check out the arts market on Sundays. I highly recommend this brunch spot if you are in the neighborhood.

Beautiful location for a sunny morning breakfast. The staff is attentive and gracious. Price can be a bit high but food is of high quality. Dishes we had were simple so not much to season. They let the natural flavors shine.

Very cute for brunch, staff is friendly but they get pretty busy so service was pretty slow towards the end of our meal. We tried the Everything Fry Bread and Lox and the Breakfast pizza. The fry bread was crispy and fluffy and the pizza had a nice undercarriage. Everything was warm and fresh.

We got 4 beers, a bloody mary, mimosa, breakfast pizza, mushroom risotto, kale salad, and kids pancake. The mushroom risotto was prob the best I've tasted. The pizza was banging. Service was ok. We had reservations asked for a booth but was seated outside (no booth). We also noted a celebration but was not offered anything. Ambiance also lacking bc we were outside. It was a Sunday 1230 reservation. I think if service and ambiance was better this would be a five.

Lovely breakfast location. Service was great and quick and the food was delicious. The decor is pretty, modern, and cozy. The mushroom polenta was superb. I've never seen that in a menu and had to try it. It was lightly spicy, definitely filling, and flavorful.

Enjoyed dinner here with my family a couple of weeks ago while on a weekend trip to San Diego. I ordered the goat cheese rollatini for myself and a mano burrata for the table. Both were exceptional. The burrata was effortlessly flavorful and was as fresh as can be. The star of the show was the rollatini, though. It was among the best pasta I've ever had in my life -- no hyperbole. The service was also quite good. One of our children has a nut allergy, so we let them know and they were extra cautious with the preparation of our meals. We ate here on a Friday early evening, and it wasn't too busy at the time, but when we passed by the following day it seemed packed. If you're looking for incredible pasta, nice service, and a laid back ambiance, this is your spot. Fully recommend!

Gaslamp Quarter has some of the best food in San Diego and Provisional is no exception. The margarita pizza had a great tangy sauce With fresh basil and mozzarella. The crust was soft yet crunchy and perfectly baked. However great the pizza was, the s'mores dessert was the star. It didn't necessarily taste like s'mores, but the flavors were simple yet you can tell they were complex in technique. On top was the marshmallow of the s'mores in a foam consistency with specs of graham cracker. Underneath was a chocolate gelato or something similar - couldn't quite figure it out. The graham cracker crust around the edges was smooth and crunchy, but the crust on the bottom was crystalized with sugar and tasted amazing when all the layers are eaten together. This was one of my favorite desserts.
