When in Nashville, you have to try the hot chicken, and what better place than Prince's Hot Chicken South, where it all began?I ordered the 3 wings with the 'hot' spice level, and the chicken was fried to perfection--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The spice level was just right, with a great kick from cayenne pepper, paprika, and hot oil, but unfortunately, it was a bit too salty for my liking. The saltiness was overwhelming, and I couldn't finish all the wings because of it. Still, the flavor was unmistakably authentic.You order up at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. It took a little while for our food to arrive, but considering the size and quality of the fried chicken, it makes sense they'd need time to cook it thoroughly. I appreciated that the chicken was cooked perfectly with no pink inside. Overall, the service was good!The location itself is filled with history, as this is the original Prince's Hot Chicken spot. If you're a fan of hot chicken and want to experience the real deal, this is a must-visit. The nostalgic vibe adds to the authenticity, making it feel like a true Nashville experience.

When in Nashville, you must try the hot chicken! I had gone to other hot chicken places that were famous in the area and I didn't think that they lived up to the hype, but prince's was juicy and flavorful. You got a good bang for your buck with the price. I did chicken tenders with a side of mac & cheese. The medium was not as spicy as I expected it to be, but it did have a good kick to it. The mac & cheese was delicious, although it did have a bit of a rubbery aftertaste.You order at the counter and they bring it to your table, so don't expect restaurant style. I went on a Tuesday around noon and there was no line but a couple of people sitting at the tables. Since it is away from the city of Nashville and in an outside shopping center, I don't think the wait is as long as other locations.

Arrived in Nashville and this was the first place we went to.Plenty of parkingOrdered a mild 3 chicken wing platter, with baked beans, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and a mango iced tea.They gave us a number and someone brought out our food.The chicken was PIPING HOT, however; they claim that the mild was hot, it was not.The Mac and cheese was good, it's a more liquidy sauce.The baked beans and potato salad were both sweet, especially the beans. (Like a pound of brown sugar type of sweet)$25 total.

This was my first trying the popular hot chicken and I had high hope. I decided to try it Prince's since they originally started it. I ordered for chicken sandwich but to my disappointment the chicken was dry, it seemed like it was overcooked.The restaurant did not have other diners even though it was a weekend. It was also a little clumsy and the service was very slow.

I've always loved hot chicken and when I took the trip to Nashville, the home of hot chicken, I knew I had to try it. I had really high expectations for this, and unfortunately, it was not met.Let's start with the service, super rushed and kind of rude. I asked for clarification and they just seemed annoyed. They rushed the whole thing and really seemed like they didn't want to be there. When I asked for water they told me to go to the bar next to them to get water. Sorry, you don't have water? Same with a straw for the drink I got. Go get a straw from the utensils station. Just like that.Now onto to food, the only saving grace. The sandwich is pretty good. Not amazing, not awful. 7/10 The wings were dry and other than spice, had no flavor. 3/10. The lemonade was good but overpriced. $6 for lemonade is outrageous.Overall, really disappointing but the drink and sandwich scored it 2 points.Service: 2/10Sandwich: 7/10Wings: 3/10Strawberry lemonade: 8/10

Tried the 4 tenders in lite mild (appreciate the warning signs regarding mild being hot) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was very crispy on the outside but juicy inside. Lite mild was flavorful and not overly hot. Also tried the fries and baked beans, which were fine but not as exciting as the chicken. They also have pies! Food did take a bit of time to come out, but they were extremely busy the entire time we were there. Low-key ambiance inside. Will definitely come back for the chicken

Came to try their hot chicken sandwich. So far, has been the best sandwich we've had in the area. The chicken was crispy but nice and juicy on the inside. Medium was nice and hot but not too hot or too mild. The sandwich was also saucy with pickles and slaw. Well balanced. Would definitely get again. The fries are only okay and they were very very busy so it took a half hour nearly for our food to show up. So service could be better but otherwise, the food is great. Vibes are relaxed. Would come again or order out next time

We came around lunch time, it took about 20 minutes for our chicken pieces to come out. The chicken was oily but flavorful. The quarter breast was decent size.

I tried princes a long time ago when I moved to Nashville.. it was recommended after a night DT. I must say I was highly unimpressed then. I was getting my hair done In The neighborhood and my beautician said it was a hit or miss afternoon sharing my prior experience, in which I never went back. Well I guess I hit the miss once again. It's ok at best. - it's aight.. Anyways, service was good. I got the strawberry cake to pair with my meal above.. I think the fries being soggy were the factors for me to leave a comment. They should have stayed in the fryer for about 3-5 more minutes to be crispy or done at the least. The chicken sandwich is good with the sauce. I wish I had some to dip these old cold fries in.. heat level is good with medium, just enough heat to kick it with,. So the sandwich ok.. but them wings ‍. If I wanted hot chicken out a box I'd asked for that.. one thing I learned that if a restaurant take pride in the FLAVOR of the food prepared, there will not be salt and pepper on the table.. . Setting is ok. Accessible and inviting. Appears to be clean.. but uh the food is dissatisfying. 2 stars for chicken sandwich SAUCE.
