Heard of Batifol, Petit Robert Bistro -- how about Marseille? Well these owners do pastry too and they do it well. This location is down Harrison Avenue and tucked behind Marseille. You enter a small atrium with a few bistro-style tables and order at the counter showcasing the pastries. The staff graciously explained to me the various offerings in the case. I chose a pain au chocolat and what I believe is called a "Swiss" (pain au chocolat with vanilla cream). Topped it off with a hefty slice of quiche and an egg, cheese and tomato on a croissant. The verdict -- croissants were uniformly light and flaky. Right amount of sweetness from the vanilla cream balanced the chocolate. I could have used a sharper cheese or some heat to break up the heftiness of the egg sandwich -- but all is forgiven because the croissant was the star here. Quiche was good too -- fluffy enough to keep us wanting more. If I had to give a note -- coffee needs to be hotter. Lukewarm cappuccino was a no go.Worth a shot!

I got a crookie from here and it was absolutely delicious! The croissant was baked with cookie in two places- on top and in the middle! The cookie part was a really nice honey consistency. Also this cafe is really cute and the high ceilings are very nice!

Visited to try a chocolate croissant in the afternoon and was disappointed by the experience. The croissant came cracked and cold and biting into the hard bars of chocolate was not very enjoyable. It would have been much better warmed up but I'm not sure if that was an option. The main reason for the low rating is the service - this is my first time visiting and I wasn't sure how things worked. Several of the staff looked at me and ignored me until one of them finally asked what I wanted. The interaction was incredibly brief and it felt like I was bothering them by buying a pastry. The interior of the place is clean and prices are fair, but due to how unwelcomed I felt, I do not plan on returning in the future.

It's so nice to finally have a French bakery in Boston. I still miss Cafe Madeleine. The boulangerie is gorgeous located next to Marseille. Of the three I purchased the pain aux raisin is the star just like what you get in France. The pain sui saw is massive - it's a chocolate croissant with a custard filling. It's delicious. The plain croissant is OK. I'll be back for the fancy French patisserie - the eclair the opera and bringing my Parisian friend to try out.

Great spot and a welcomed addition to the neighborhood! This bakery sit right next door to Marseille and the new gym that's set to open in a couple of months. Cute sitting indoors and access to Marseille's outdoor seatings.PRB Boulangerie offers all kinds of food; from a lite salad or sandwich to coffee and plenty of pastries. We got an éclair and a brioche (I was eyeing that chocolate brioche though) with our coffee. The pastries were heavenly and I can't wait to come back and try out that chocolate brioche... and that pavlova.I can definitely see myself working from this place with my coffee and the fact that I'm going to be surrounded by many a treats is going to make me that much more productive.

Inconsistent results on drinks. Sometimes the coffee is good, somedays like water. Sandwiches are terrible. Baked goods are so-so. Staff is not knowledgeable- there might be one person who can answer your question. Overall a tremendous downgrade from the previous cafe and employees. Place does look cute but food and service don't measure up at all. I've been here a few times because I work in the building.

The sandwiches and salads are quite satisfying and the other baked goods (especially the croissants) are very good. There's a lovely patio with couches or tables and ample shade in addition to an indoor seating area in the building lobby. I love their staff who are all helpful and very lovely.

Grabbed some croissants when they first opened one morning and they must have been day old. Their products are baked in Somerville so perhaps the truck hadn't arrived yet but day-old products should be sold as such (and priced appropriately).

I decided to take a walk there on a very windy winter afternoon. It was not a disappointment. The lemon tart and macarons were delicious. Absolutely, the best macarons in Boston. Can't wait to go back to try the breakfast pastries.
