Prager Brothers Artisan Bread

This grab-and-go bakery offers fresh sandwiches and baguettes, perfect for those short on time and in need of a healthy, nutritious bite. All the sandwiches are premade, so modifications or toasting aren't available, but the convenience and quick service make up for it. I tried two sandwiches: the Veggie Chickpea and the Turkey Chimichurri.The Veggie Chickpea sandwich, served on wheat bread, featured layers of hummus, carrots, and arugula. It had a clean taste without any heavy ingredients. However, the Turkey Chimichurri sandwich was the standout for me. The focaccia bread, with its Parmesan crust and assorted seeds like pumpkin, provided delightful texture. The chimichurri inside could have used a bit more salt to enhance the flavor, but overall, it was delicious.While there's no indoor seating, a small table is available outside. Personally, I found the sandwiches easy to eat while walking around the area, adding to their convenience.

The staff was always pleasant and wanted to chat about your day or all things bread related. I always had a great experience.However recently, it's taken a turn for the worse. The associate that helped me yesterday (March 5th, young female, brown hair, glasses. About 10am) was down right rude. To the point myself and the person I was with were uncomfortable as we walked out. It was triggered due to a simple question I asked her and she got nasty with her response. It's unnecessary, you're selling bread.Management: Take some time at this location. You have such a special product and this location used to be so welcoming. I hope you get back there.

The morning buns from this place are out of this world delicious! Staff are super friendly. It's a small spot but clean. 2 small tables outside that you can sit at if you like. Great bakery with multiple locations. They are also at farmers markets, which is where we initially found them. This will be our new go to bakery stop when we're in the area for sure!

We just had an almond croissant and a ham and cheese croissant and both were delicious. On our way in, a woman said it was the best bakery in town and she didn't lie.

Was in the area and wanted to grab lunch to take to the beach. Small shop and pretty busy, but the staff was so friendly! Got a spicy italian sandwich and chocolate croissant.Sandwich was so good, the bread was delicious. We were able to share the sandwich among two people. The croissant was average, the chocolate was cold so it felt like a chocolate bar. Would definitely visit again.

Okay, I wanted to love this. I really did. I've tried some breads and pastries from other Prager Brother locations before, but this was my first time at the Encinitas store. I have to say I was seriously underwhelmed and disappointed. I got a pretzel, which looked beautiful and shiny, but was stale and extremely hard. For the price, I have to say I was expecting more. I don't know if it was because it was an old batch or left out too long, but I couldn't even finish it. I know that PB can definitely make good pastries and breads, so I was really disappointed. The store itself is very small, so I think it's more of a grab-and-go kind of establishment. Although there is sometimes a line, the service is fairly quick because everything is already made.I think that, despite my experience, I might go back to give PB another chance. Maybe it was just an off day!

We found this place at a farmers market. I got a blueberry scone and a morning bun (I think that's what they were called) they were so delicious I went back for more but the market just closed. So we looked online and saw they had a store. Was so happy they did and it was on the way home. We stopped and got 4 more morning buns and some cookies for our trip back to Arizona. They were really good! If you're in southern California you got to give them a try!

We've been here three days in a row now. Almond croissant, blueberry scone, morning bun, palmier -- all really good. Cool shop and friendly service. Easy walking distance to the beach too.
