I went here because a friend lives near by and recommended it. I got take out and when I got to the restaurant the place was so warm and inviting and in a really rad building. Lots of parking! I picked up my order and the woman who took my order was so lovely and sweet. I got home and we had ordered their dinner combo 1 and combo 4 and was so happy with combo 1 and the "shrimp" was so fantastic really the highlight of the meal. The sauces were fantastic as well. Stayed hot all the way home to Vancouver. Highly recommend if you are a vegan/vegetarian wanting shrimp or just great Chinese food !

This place is very underrated. Jenny the host was very hospitable and the portions were delicious and generous. As a non-vegetarian, I would go to this place again and again.

Temporally closed until August 12th 2024. But when they re-open I recommend them. Look for the big red building. Has off street parking

Yuan Su serves all-vegetarian Chinese food. (Perhaps all vegan? Hard to tell, as they don't have a full website.) They're in a giant red building off Powell and 111th so it's not exactly a happening part of the city or a fun dinner destination. I ordered takeout for lunch recently. Service stood out as above and beyond, from helping me decide what to order on the phone, greeting me when I walked in, having the order ready in about 10 minutes, packaging the order in a box to go, helping me with a complicated payment. The restaurant was nearly empty when I went to pickup. It's a huge space, somewhat spartan in decor. Looks like the building used to be used for something else. I ordered beef and broccoli, kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, potstickers, and rice. It was all good but not necessarily amazing. Portions were large enough for leftovers. Main dish prices were about $14-18 so a little pricey depending on what you get. If I go back, I will keep working my way through their menu to see what dishes are my favorite and how they adapt them to be vegetarian/vegan.

Tried for the first time and loved it. Had the spring rolls, pot stickers , house fried rice and orange chicken. Everything was delicious and server super friendly. Very good service. We did go at lunch time so it was not busy. Will definitely be back.

I always love the food here. Everything is vegan and delicious. I'm still making my way through trying the whole menu. Haha. So far my favorites are the hot and sour soup (great for sharing), the veggie pork belly with taro in hot pot, and the tumeric fried rice. Their lunch combos are also amazing.

When people ask me my favorite restaurants, I'm often hard pressed to come up with an answer. Yuan Su is on the short list now! I've eaten here a couple times and am never disappointed. I highly recommend eating family style so you can try more things! Visited with a large group and got to try several dishes. General Tso was still a crowd pleaser and the beef style dishes were a major hit. The surprise was the lemon "fish" which was delightful. And again, even with our large group, the staff kept up with our many requests. Can't wait to come back!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. It's called vegetarian, but it's all vegan. And they make their own seitan there! They have a lot of seating, and it seems like it would be a great place to go out to eat with a group of friends. They don't have any outdoor seating unfortunately, so I ordered takeout. Parking was easy on a Saturday night at 7pm.I ordered through the website, and it was very easy to use. Rice is $1 extra for each cup. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and the Kung Pao Chicken. Both were made with their housemade seitan and were DELICIOUS. It cost about $35 for both meals and a cup of rice. If you're not a big eater, you could probably get 2 meals out of an entree.

Portion sizes are TINY!! all the reviews and ratings are completely misleading. the pork came in the tiniest 8oz box and was half filled with cabbage. the orange chicken is basically the same minuscule amount but incredibly battered and tastes like a doughnut. really disgusting. on top of that they charge for rice?? will not be going back ever, steer clear.
