Mea culpa.... I've been coming here for years, and somehow have never written a review. Woodstock Wine and Deli is an exemplary neighborhood place, with the food and wine promised by the name, as well as being a great spot for live music, and sitting and enjoying their products. There is a performance space at the front, a wine counter (for by-the-glass purchases) on the wall to the left, and the deli counter at the back of the store. The center and the right wall are devoted to shelves and shelves of bottles.A good order of events is to stake out a place to sit, then go to the deli window and make a food order, and, finally, visit the wine counter go find your beverages. You can then sit down with your wine and wait for the freshly made sandwiches to be brought to your table. One thing I have not found is complete information online about music performances. Their FB page has some tasting and music events listed, but I've been to others that I've only known about by word of mouth. I'd advise dropping by, shopping, and checking out postings in the store for upcoming performances.

I used to go there every Friday after work, in the late 80s. We always brought three or four people that we worked with as a group to your establishment, I always got what I called the Thanksgiving sandwich. The turkey and cranberry sauce and all the fictions it was the best sandwich I ever ate. You guys are awesome. It's no wonder you're still in business.

Since the pandemic we've been enjoying delicious take home meals created by Gregg and his crew. For years before 2020, and hopefully long after, the meal of choice for us from WW& Deli is from their smoker! Truly epic BBQ and equally sumptuous sides. Tonight we ordered 1/2 a chicken, 1/2 rack of baby backs & a trip of sides. The slow was perfect, crunchy and light, the potatoes Au gratin were too good to make into the photo, but the homemade beans stole the side dish show. At least 4 types of beans, oh my! And yea, the ribs were in the same camp as the taters, yummy! They also cook up turkeys and prime rib-also excellent. They prefer pre-orders-check out their website or drop in for more info.

I've been meaning to come by here so after a ZoomCare appointment, what better thing to pair with antibiotics but some wine?!I like wine. I recently bought a wine fridge. But I'm not super knowledgeable. I'm learning things about Mega Purple and big name brands that sell out, so I'm trying to wean off of grocery store wines. I went to Woodstock Wine around 2pm and it was very quiet, I thought it was closed, but I was greeted by an employee very promptly. The store is quite big, with tall shelves and crates full of wine. I explained that I'm trying to venture out more and described the kinds of wines I usually buy and the regions I tend to gravitate toward. He was very knowledgeable and walked me through some options and price points. He made some enthusiastic recommendations and I walked out with 4 different bottles for $105. I've only had one so far but it was very good! I'll be back to restock my fridge and hopefully also try their deli offerings.

A quick nod to WWD - we happened to be wandering the neighborhood and I recalled a Nextdoor review which mentioned the offerings here. Decided to drop in and pick up lunch. Had never been in the store, it's a large space which seemed a big echo-y, but maybe that's a Covid thing.Came to the back where the server was, checked out the sandwich menu. Was a bit disappointed when we asked about a couple of offerings, only to find out that they'd run out of a couple of our choices. Regardless, we went ahead and ordered what we wanted.(Vague recollection here because I don't recall specifics) For what we got, the sandwiches were huge, well made, nicely flavored. I think we ended up paying $18 for the two sandwiches.I'd like to go back maybe at the beginning of the week or beginning of the month when they have more variety and give them a second chance.

Super nice owner serving customers. Worth supporting.Helpful with picking out wines, with a good selection at good prices. Business is leaning more toward wine than deli lately, hopefully as more people start going out more the food can get to be a bigger part of visiting.

After a short tour of Reed College and was desperate for food-aka more fuel. I saw quiche on their daily specials and decided to ho put on a limb and try it. Previously not a fan of quiche but the description sounded special. After sitting down with my New York Seltzer Root Beer it arrived a few minutes later. All I can say is that it was one of the most surprising delicious meals I have ever eaten. Thank you so much Woodstock Wine and Deli. Oh-the clam chowda was lovely as well.

Went to hear jazz trio David Friesen. New York Greenwich Village quality group. There once a month. Huge space, one wall of wine, good deli sandwiches. Sadly no hot foods like pastrami since pandemic. Definitely Portland Weird and great.
