Vi Thai Restaurant

Haven't been here since before covid. Wanted to go back to see if it was as good since they changed ownership. First let me say the young man who was working the front of the house was very kind and did a wonderful job, I wish I would have got his name. I got the chicken noodle pho'. It was just as wonderful as I remember, full of big juicy chicken and the great broth. As far as the garnish plate, I still would like to know where they get there Thai Basil, it is the most fragrant I've ever had. Needless to say I will for sure be back again soon

Since I discovered Vi Thai, I've been coming here at least once a week as a reward for a long day's work. Their Special Beef Noodle Soup "Pho" is a hearty well seasoned dish with a classic homemade broth. I get it with an added side of steamed veggies mixed in. No short cuts here. I'm working my way through the menu; the sauces consistently enhance the well prepared entrees. For me, the only effective antidote for a cold, windy or rainy day is the Classic Pho- it nourishes the spirit as well as the body. It's so good, I just had to share.

I went to Vi Thai about nine years ago, and it was absolutely dreadful. I wound up joining some work colleagues for lunch there recently, and was VERY impressed with how much better they've gotten!Based on my previous visit, where everything was bland and even the "Hot" had no semblance of heat, I wasn't expecting much. I ordered Thai fried rice with chicken and requested it hot. Everything was VERY flavorful and the "hot" was DEFINITELY hot!!!The staff is friendly and attentive, the prices are low, and the portion sizes seem to be just right for a lunch-sized entree.There are lots of items crossed out on the menus, and there are lots of hand-written price increases on them, which makes things confusing.It is in a strip mall with VERY few parking spaces. So, finding parking may be a challenge at times.Vi Thai is definitely worth a visit!

I was in the mood for Thai and ordered their beef pad Thai to-go. I arrived at the restaurant and it was clear they didn't have my order, so I waited for them to put it in and make it. Not the end of the world, but still inconvenient. The girl helping me was nice.I opened the container and found no limes, which is a staple of pad Thai. Aside from that, the flavor of the dish was very lacking. No spice or detectable seasoning - everything was just bland and flavorless. I won't return.

Authentic Vietnamese and Thai Food! Our food came out super fresh and hot. The people who work here really care about their food and their service is top notch. If you come here try the Thai tea, Pho, and Pad Thai! The place is clean and managed very well!

They have closed. They will be missed. Sad to see them go, they were a dependable spot.

One of my favorite restaurants in the general Portland and Gresham area. Outstanding crispy spring rolls, combination beef pho, and bbq pork vermicelli. Great service! Centrally located by the Hwy, Diamond Darcy's bar, and an amazing Russian bakery.

Fabulous pho, delicious tom kha - very fresh ingredients. The service was by far, some of the best we've had in years. The young man was friendly, funny and professional. He had a perfect blend of knowing when to be there and when to give us time. Most excellent service. I cannot say enough about how well we were taken care of by this gentleman. The food was also presented beautifully - it could have been from a photo shoot! This was an excellent find on a cold, rainy day. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!

So glad to enjoy indoor dining with helpful, friendly staff. They have my favorites for good prices and large portions. For sure new favorite place to eat!!

EXCELLENT top notch food! The BEST Huge packed salad rolls! Excellent fried rice! The Service is Very Attentive! And the Cooks are Very Flexible with what you want or don't want in a dish of your choosing! Very Very clean and professional! They are my Number One Choice for Vietnamese/Thai Food by Far!!
