Brunch on a Sunday, sure. Lets go to Urban Farmers, why not. Even though I've been to The Nines and Departure, this was the first time I've dined here. It's located on the 8th floor and on other side of the eclectically decorated sitting area. Hey...art is in the eye of the beholder and there's something for everyone. The vibe here was more chillax than other places during weekend brunch but was welcomed as it served as a great backdrop for a few gf's getting together to catch up. We couldn't decide on which Benedict to get so we got all 3 options to do buffet style. The star of the meal however was their twist on Steak&Eggs...that gravy tho. Y'all and that French Toast w that ooh wee gooey goodness straight look like it's smiling at ya :D Did I mention the Q and delish dranks?!All the staff we encountered def made for a great outing w the gals. Restrooms are also nearby so you don't have to go searching all over the hotel for it. "I'll be back"-Terminator

I hate giving a low review but I have never really enjoyed Urban Farmer, I hovered on a 3 but I think a 3.5 would really describe it for me, I gave it a 4 because it's local and I'm a softie. I have been here a few times over the years and I have never felt like "wow, that was a great meal". I got the smoked sirloin eggs benny this time and the description didn't mention sides but I thought like come on no one serves benny's without sides. It had no sides. It was filling, so it probably didn't need them I'll give them that, but even a slice or two of orange would've added a lot. I don't recall it being particularly bad or good but I do recall thinking that red garnish stuff didn't go with the dish overall at all. The service was fine, our server was very nice, but the kitchen was super slow and they didn't have our table right away even though we had reservations and it wasn't very crowded. The thing that really saves it for me here is that I love the 9's and the architecture and that its in this super cool interior atrium. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere and amazing lighting here if nothing else.

This place seems to always disappoint. Beautiful ambience, renowned food sourcing and looks like a tasty menu. The food is actually good and good value when it arrives ( ( expect a long wait ) and if they don't mix up your orders. Or waitress was great but can't figure out why the didn't get orders right and bring the wrong order to the wrong table, patience is required to eat here. If it wasn't for my 40 daily credit I'd be skipping this place

I stayed at the Nines Hotel and decided to stay in for brunch instead of venturing outside in the pouring rain. I was not at all disappointed. Such a cute restaurant located on the 8th floor. Our waitress was so sweet. She didn't rush us and gave great recommendations. I started with a hibiscus mimosa which was a 10/10. I had about 5 so I guess I really did like them. I ordered the steak and eggs with an English muffin on the side. They make their own english muffins, butter, and jam in house. Everything was amazing! Steak was cooked perfectly, and everything tasted fresh. Being stuck at the hotel was the best idea for a Sunday afternoon

My sister and I had dinner reservations at Urban Farmer on a Saturday at 6pm. We found the restaurant on the 8th floor atrium of The Nines hotel. For being a modern steakhouse, the vibe of Urban Farmer was of sophistication but also simplicity. There were guests dressed casually and others were dressed to the Nines. Pun intended. It didn't feel snooty at all, so the experience was what you make it. The menu looked very impressive. I appreciated how they thanked the local farms where their ingredients were sourced. We split a few things on the menu including the Tender Greens Salad, NY Steak Tasting Trio, side of Charred Heirloom Carrots, and side of Cultivated & Wild Mushrooms. Before we received our first order, we were served their house cornbread muffin. It was fantastic! The muffin was warm and crumbly, and it had such a nice balance of sweetness and saltiness. I liked how you could distinctly taste the salt crystals. The food just kept getting better. The Tender Greens salad was amazing! It was made of carrot shavings, a mix of spring greens, and thinly sliced apples that topped the salad. I enjoyed the bites with the crispy quinoa, and the whole salad was lightly covered in a honey vinaigrette. It was a no frills salad, but each bite was packed with freshness and flavor. The quality of the ingredients spoke for itself. I enjoyed the NY Steak Tasting Trio. Each piece was 6oz, but we had the dish split evenly between me and my sister. My favorite piece was the the prime corn-fed. We ordered the truffle blue cheese butter and au poivre, which complimented the steaks well. Loved the sides we ordered. The mushroom side was particularly noteworthy. The wild mushrooms that were foraged were my favorite since they were so unique and meaty. The pearl onions absorbed the flavor of red wine, so they added pops of bold flavor in a bite of mushrooms. I was surprised by the texture of the heirloom carrots. They were almost as starchy as cassava. The main reason for docking down a point was the service. Our reservation was at 6pm, which we arrived on time for. We were pretty decisive and ordered our food no more than 5 minutes after we sat down. While the salad came out pretty quickly after ordering, the steaks and sides took forever to arrive. I remember looking at my phone around 7pm, and we still hadn't received our main course.

Had a really nice experience here recently and found it a great place to dine for breakfast / brunch especially if you are staying at The Nines! Food was delicious and service was also very solid.I had the dungeness crab omelet which was absolutely fantastic. It was chock-full with crab, bacon, and grilled onions, and they definitely didn't skimp on the filling! My boyfriend got the traditional benedict which was also a great breakfast option. In addition, we shared a crispy potato rosti as a side, and it was sooo good! I've never had a potato rosti before, but it's basically a crispy hash brown that was cooked to perfection.

It's a quiet location located inside a hotel atrium near downtown Portland. Street parking is best in the evenings but even then I had to park a few blocks away. The food itself is delicious and there is a large variety for both food and drinks. We opted for ribeyes with shared dishes of the Brussels spouts and potatoes. My steak was actually a little salty for my liking which is surprising since the gf always says my food is salty. The Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and were charred on the outside but soft in the middle. The potatoes were nothing incredibly crazy, they were simple yet delicious with just salt and butter (from what I could tell). The gf on the other hand loved it all and ate the entire plate.

When I looked at my brief notes I took to summarize my experience here I wrote: "amazing everything" which was the perfect summarization. We went to Urban farmer to have an excellent breakfast. All of the food was fantastic but what was the star of the show was the English muffins. If you think about it, this is a testament to how good these are that they stuck out of my memory above everything else!Drinks were great with the regular latte and cappuccino good but the iced latte was alright. The one "downside" was service was on the slower side but for such a beautiful venue, it's really hard to mind all that much!

Extremely rude service from the waitress Paige, possibly racist and anti-Asian. It was a slow Monday evening, and I arrived at 5:40 PM for the wine tasting. It took forever to find her to place an additional food order. I waited patiently while she attended other tables before signaling for help. Guess what? She served all the other tables and skipped ours! I had to search for her just to place an order. After she finally took our order, we waited another 50 minutes for hummus, fries, and deviled eggs. During that time, Paige checked on other tables multiple times but never once bothered to check on ours. She also brought food and drinks to other tables shortly after they ordered.Twenty minutes in, the manager overheard us wondering why our drinks hadn't arrived yet. Only then did Paige come over and say she would check on them. That was the only reason we eventually got our drinks. After waiting 50 minutes, I asked about our food, and Paige said the kitchen was busier than usual because of an event. By that point, my appetite was gone, so I asked her to cancel the order if it hadn't been prepared. She returned to say the order hadn't been submitted because the printer was broken. Excuse me?! When I asked how other tables received their food if the printer was broken, she claimed it malfunctioned only for our order--though somehow, the deviled egg had been made. How wild is that? The printer supposedly broke just for our order, but it still printed one item?Within three minutes, she came back with another waiter carrying all our food, claiming the printer had just been "magically" fixed and the kitchen had prepared everything. What the hell?!Although everything else during my stay at this four-star hotel has been great, Paige's exceptionally rude attitude and lies were unacceptable. Our food wasn't served until 7 PM, despite us arriving at 5:40 PM, and we were forced to deal with conflicting excuses about the kitchen being busy and a broken printer. Paige ignored us throughout multiple check-ins with other tables and slammed our drink on the table, requiring me to ask her to be more careful with the next one. All the other tables were served water except ours, and although we were seated right by the entrance, Paige acted like we were invisible every time she walked by to serve others.
