Indoor and Outdoor seating. Casual ambience, tight space (smallTables - max is 4 people to be comfortable without fighting for elbow space)The Salad Category is most interesting - check it out! Green Tea Leaf Salad where fermented green tea is the "dressing" - brilliantly combined with such a unique taste that you don't know what to make out of it but you keep eating !Beef Curry with paratha - mild in taste, curry base is light, beef is tender. Dessert: Traditional Burmese cake: Served warm, nothing screaming great but hey If you have some room left why not !When you're traveling, but you're adamant about getting the dishes TO-GO so you can have them for Dinner (instead of trying out other Restaurants around the Hotel) ....thats a tell tale sign of something special". Highly recommended - it gets a FIVE star for the creativity and overall experience - well done !

A friend and I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful Burmese meal, and it was an experience worth sharing. The star of the show was the tender beef curry, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with rich, aromatic flavors. The beef was succulent and practically melted in my mouth, a true testament to the chef's skill.Accompanying the curry was the delicious coconut rice. The subtle sweetness of the coconut infused every grain, complementing the savory curry beautifully. It was fluffy, fragrant, and added a wonderful texture to the meal. The peanut salad was another highlight. It was crunchy, refreshing, and had a delightful mix of flavors, from the earthy peanuts to the tangy dressing. The shredded chicken was equally impressive, tender and well-seasoned, adding a nice protein punch to the salad. We enjoyed great service in the small, intimate dining room. We chose to eat inside because of the afternoon heat, but the charming street patio was tempting.Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in authentic and delicious Burmese cuisine.

I'd never had Burmese food before, but now, I think I'll *always* want it. Interestingly, a lot of the flavor profiles reminded me of Italian food (carbonara and eggplant parmigiana, specifically), just made with Southeast Asian ingredients.Plus, I got to drink fresh coconut water straight from a newly-opened coconut. Not something you get to do every day!

Ate here while in town for the weekend because we've never had Burmese food and it was definitely worth a try! It reminded me of a mix of Indian and Thai food. We ordered the famous Green Tea Leaf Salad, which was nothing like we ever tried before, but it was super delicious! It was on the savory side for a salad, but I loveeddd how many toppings it came with (especially those fried garlic slices!) We also ordered the happy hour chicken curry with rice which I enjoyed. It came with a lot of chicken but the portions were a bit small for the price. Lastly we got the national dish of Myanmar, Mo Hinga (Fish Chowder. It was a rice noodle dish in a fish chowder soup that tasted reminiscent of curry. It was very fishy though so beware if you don't like the smell/taste of fish that much! I do wish it came with more than just noodles, a hard boiled egg, and a few of the crispy fish tidbits. It was a bit expensive and lacked subsistence for $20. The service was great here though! Albeit we were the only ones dining at that hour, our server was very attentive, checked up on us often, and helped us decide what dishes to get.

Finally made it to Top Burmese! The restaurant is the perfect, cozy spot for a catch up lunch with a friend. The Green Tea salad is so vibrant and full of crunchy crispy textures and both the curry and coconut noodle soup were so warm and filling. PLUS the Samosas were some of the best I've had, please get these. Only thing holding back a star was that there was a little something missing from the main dishes, maybe some salt? Was a little flat but still yummy and worth a try

The food here is really good! We started with the golden samosas, a must get IMO. The tofu tots are also great. The rainbow salad is excellent as well. For entrees I'd say it's best to grab several and then share. The coconut noodle soup is very tasty. We also ordered the chicken curry and the beef paratha. Make sure to get extra coconut rice too! The service was excellent though I'd recommend getting a reservation (especially on the weekend) as it's a pretty small space and can get very busy. Inside they also have one of those robots that brings you your food so that's fun.

I recently dined at Top Burmese place with my coworker had a lovely experience. The ambiance and service were both great, making for a pleasant visit :) I ordered the mango nectar and pumpkin curry. While the mango nectar wasn't anything special, the pumpkin curry was amazing! The flavors were rich and delicious.Overall, a wonderful spot with a great interior, food, and vibe!

Burmese cuisine in Oregon? Top Burmese has placed Burmese Cuisine on the map in Oregon! They have four locations in Hillsboro, Beaverton and Portland, and are opening a fifth location also in Beaverton! I went to the one in Portland (the original) and I can't wait to share my experience! When you first walk in the restaurant it is a bit small but it's also cute at the same time with traditional Burmese decor. I also noticed plants are a big thing at this restaurant as well since I saw many different types of plants. There was also a robot server that is very interactive for customers when the food is being served. This location is the smallest location, and there is no bar; however, next door is their sister business, M Bar.M Bar is known for making unique, creative and stunning, tasting cocktails and mocktails. This bar works closely with Top Burmese as guests can still order drinks and the drinks are made at M Bar. The space is small, however it is nice and lively at the same time. It brings an additional vibe to the restaurant too. I collaborated with another photographer and content creator at Amplified Business Solutions and here are our thoughts. Top BurmeseRainbow salad: A traditional Burmese dish that has rice, noodles, and vegetables. This is a dish where you use your hands to mix everything together. Fortunately, the restaurant provides gloves for health reasons. When everything is combined together, it tastes really well blended and the tamarind sauce added a nice tang to the dish. That tamarind sauce comes together. Tea leaves salad: One of our favorite salads we actually tried. It was also one of the healthiest salads we ever had. The tea leaves tastes similar to pesto and it's very lightly dressed but still maintained to keep cohesent. Khao soy: We love this dish because the egg noodle texture was perfect and the curry was really well done! Very mild dishes that are very comforting! Pumpkin curry: We love the pumpkin curry, because the pumpkin itself was very tender compared to other pumpkin curries we had in the past. There was a bit of spice in the curry, but still mild, so you still taste the beautiful developing flavors.Samosa: We love the presentation of the samosas, because there was glitter (edible) on top of them. The ratio of filling to pastry dough was perfect and the flavor inside the filling was well executed. When the samosa is dipped in sauce, it adds a nice spice.Shan noodles: We thought at first the red cubes were tuna, but it was actually tofu. Before you eat it, the noodles, tofu and vegetables really need to be mixed well because a lot of the sauce was at the bottom. There was great savory umami flavor and the noodles were perfect as well.M Bar Drinks:Burma lagoon: The presentation was a fish and it was super adorable! The butterfly tea and coconut milk made for a terrific combo!Ngapali day off and Pegu club: Both of these alcoholic drinks had a lovely presentation and they taste very flavorful.Mango Lassi: I always loved mangos and they are one of my favorite fruits! It's a very creamy drink made with yogurt and milk. Very refreshing during the summer!Overall, Top Burmese was my favorite restaurant because of the story each of the dishes tell and the wonderful ingredients showcased shine through! The staff was super friendly, the restaurant was clean, and it was just a nice vibe overall! We would definitely come back to try more dishes!

The ginthoke salad here was sooooOOOOOOooooo good. It's shocking to learn it's vegan. Not the ginger salad you might expect. It has that umami deliciousness from a fermentation type flavor. Huge portion size and absolutely delectable balance of acidic, salty, sweet, umami, and more. The texture is also perfect. Crunchy and fatty and smooth all at once. I am so sad to not able able to get it weekly, as I dont live in PDX. Would give my left but cheek for the recipe of the ginger (which imparts the best flavor).

Great service and the food is good, but I'm not sure if it's good enough to justify the price. I do like how many vegetarian options there are, and the attentiveness to gluten cross-contamination.
