The Spot 79

Great little hole in the wall for lunch or dinner and drinks. This is a very laid back little spot. Great salad and steak bites. I always get the french dip. I also like it for breakfast, usually take out for me. I like the Denver omelette with a side of hollandaise sauce. Yummy. Michelle is one of the waitresses, she is my favorite. She pours very good, and effective, drinks. Avoid karaoke night, wow, terrible. All around a decent stop for no judgment dining.

This local small bar out on Foster has some of the best steam rice roll noodles I've had (besides in BC). I know it's strange that a bar would serve this. This place has a unique setup where their kitchen operates independently from the bar. They have an Asian menu (takes cash only) and then the regular bar and some bar item foods that go on a separate ticket. The lady serving us was super friendly to us and made sure we got our drinks and food order in. She made us feel invited and provided great hospitality. We ordered a good selection of food from the Asian menu. The steamed rice noodles were of perfect texture and thickness. It was very easy to consume. We also ordered a couple of noodles dishes. From the bar menu, we ordered some chicken strips. It's the best of both worlds if you're looking for a variety of food. I would definitely come here again.

They serve a Chinese breakfast in the morning, but they don't have the hours when they serve it. If you're Asian and walk in later in the afternoon, you'll snapped at by a caucasian lady saying "there's no more Chinese breakfast". No "Hi" or "how can I help you". We felt disrespected, especially considering how large of an Asian population there is in this area. I will not be coming back here for any type of food or drink.

Food and service was good. New owners, a little over a year. They have American and Chinese food. It is a clean neighborhood bar that has been around for years. We will be back to try burgers and American food. Thanks!

The biscuits and gravy are the only good thing about what I just ate. We ordered from Postmates (gods bless that service!) and when our food was delivered, a couple of the containers were melted to the point that the food wasn't edible, the eggs tasted like dish water, and the bacon was meh. How the hell does one ruin bacon?!

Always a pleasure coming here for dinner -- we like to order the French dip and their wings here are pretty good. As this is a sports bar, they have TVs all over as well as slot machines on the other side. Their owner Lucy is such a sweetheart, she's always so kind and nice! Definitely out favourite spot to dine or have a drink at.

NO WAY TO CONTACT FOR WRONG ORDERS!!!No working number to contact. I placed a pickup order through postmates and my order was missing items. Any number that I can find for the business is a non working phone number and there is NO way to contact the business other than walking back into the bar and asking for a manager. Get my order correct in the first place or at least give me a way to contact you about what was wrong with the order!!!

Since the change of ownership, everything has plummeted downhill. My bf and I go here for ease, convince, cheap drinks & decent food. Bartender is having some emotional breakdown--can't get food orders right, drinks are taking forever. We've been here 30 min, had to go up to order another round of drinks rather than be served or offered them, overheard our food was made wrong so still waiting, guy across from us ordered 4 eggs & was served one, saw 2 plates of food be thrown out for customer leaving or being ordered wrong. Who knows?It's a dive so it's not like I expect the world, but hopefully I can convince the bf to not come back after this disaster. If it keeps going the way it has since ownership change, it won't be around much longer. Plus, they let go of the entire staff when ownership changed. Not cool.

The only reason 1 star is given is due to a no-star option.By far, the filthiest kitchen in Portland...The only saving grace to the place is cheap drinks...probly to disinfect the botulism with bottom shelf rotgut sold as premium...Boring and dead atmosphere.

The karaoke guy, Matt, does an amazing job! He's got a fair rotation and is very entertaining and funny.
