The Sparrow Bakery

This was our first time to Sparrow, and my husband and I loved it! Between us two, we got a chocolatine, an ocean roll, a vanilla bean latte, and a caramel latte, and everything was so good. The pastries, especially, were fantastic. The chocolatine (a rolled croissant with chocolate chips) was still warm and was beautifully laminated. The ocean roll (a vanilla cardamom roll) had a lovely light floral cardamom flavor, which was so nice when combined with the fluffy and partially caramelized dough. We loved these pastries and will definitely be back. We stayed while we enjoyed our pastries and coffee, and it was a nice place to hang out. I'd definitely recommend coming here!

My husband tried an Ocean Roll at a Yelp event and has been wanting to bring me here ever since. Now that I've tried one, I'll be dreaming of them. I'm a major cardamom lover and the balance of spice and sweet in this giant roll is just right. I'd honestly say balance is the main word for everything I got. In addition to the Ocean Roll, I got a lemon twist, an iced pumpkin spice latte and a non-bacon breakfast sandwich. The pumpkin spice latte didn't have a ton of pumpkin flavor, but it was a delightful fall spice latte. I don't like my coffee too sweet, and this was just right for me. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, too. The crunch of the croissant accentuated the soft avocado, cheese and egg inside. I've been thinking about it ever since and am honestly holding myself back from going back as I write this... wish me luck

You could tell me that Sparrow Bakery sold nothing but the Ocean Roll and I'd believe you. This is a very specific craving in which I used to drive to Bend for but now I only have to cross town to get it. Ocean roll is a cinnamon roll on steroids. It's elevated, it's got the cardamon crispies that you Hoover into your mouth because it would be a waste of precious gold if you don't. It goes incredibly well with tea. It's too big for me to finish in one sitting so I get to enjoy more in the afternoon or if I have willpower, the next day.

I absolutely enjoyed my visit to this location. It has seating indoor and outdoor. They were quick to take my order and provided excellent customer service. I enjoyed the variety of items on the menu. I really enjoyed the bacon breakfast sandwich, 10/10. The Lox Bagel was phenomenal as well. The atmosphere and vibe are welcoming, and the area feels safe.

I was pleasantly surprised at the size of this croissant. Crispy, crunchy, & sweet from the pistachio. Would have tasted even better if it were slightly warm. The cardamom latte was sweet and tasted as it sounds. I would come back to try more of their drinks and pastries!

A sunny little coffee shop in the St.John area. I've had their bakery elsewhere before but I can confirm that it's better right at the source. They got a pretty comprehensive pastry showcase, as well as breakfast sandwiches and bagel sandwiches (apparently, they make their bagels in house as well!).I went with their Ocean Roll, Waldorf Sandwich, and a 16 oz Americano - a big treat to say the least. The Ocean Roll was decadent. The taste of cardamom really stood out, making the roll a little sweet and a little savory; very unique! The Waldorf Sandwich was their hand-rolled croissant filled with chicken salad. Their croissant was on the breadier end of croissants but still buttery and worked great as a sandwich. They're very generous with the filling as well, huge chunks of chicken and apples, making for a refreshing and filling salad. The sandwich was big, can easily be shared. Got a bite of their Lox Bagel as well and it's tantalizingly good.Their Americano was decent but nothing to write home about. Will be back for their baked goods for sure!

This cafe was cute and we tried a few pastries. I thought the croissants were good but definitely a bit different than your traditional flaky croissant. I would almost describe them as bready.

Really disappointed when we visited this location on a weekday at lunchtime. We visited to specifically order two items, the Monte Cristo sandwich and their Ham, Thyme & Gruyere Croissant, but when we looked at their menu inside, those weren't listed and the menu was much smaller than the one on their website. I know they have another location out in Bend, but their website only has one menu so we assumed it was the same at both locations. Not so. When we asked the cashier about the difference in the menus she told us the online menu is for Bend and this location has a smaller menu. When we politely suggested the cashier inform management about this issue with the menu discrepancy and perhaps add a note on the website about it, or better yet, list both menus online, the cashier told us we should just email the bakery ourselves. We pointed out that she's an employee and it should be much easier for her to relay this info to upper management and she again told us to just email them ourselves. During this whole interaction we were very polite & didn't get upset, so we were quite taken aback by the lack of customer service for a very simple request regarding a legitimate complaint & suggestion for improvement. Could we have just picked out something else to eat? Of course. But since she was clearly not interested in being helpful, we took our business elsewhere.

Great pastries and desserts! Their ocean roll is so good- I love how they blend cardamom with cinnamon and sugar. Their banana bread is amazing too! -1 star because it's pretty expensive
