Old Quarter egg coffee
Egg cream Vietnamese coffee, the egg foam makes the coffee custardy in texture.
Lang son tossed pho is topped with pork, and you get some broth but it doesn't fill the bowl because it's just to moisten the noodles.
Beerlao!! First time I've seen and had this.

I've come here multiple times now because I LOVE it so much! Compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in Portland, this establishment focuses on Northern Vietnamese cuisine, and it's so fun to try it! The interior of the restaurant is very cute and there's a separate portion from the main dining area that looks like the street stalls you would experience in Vietnam. It felt as if I transported back there haha. Service is quick and very nice. But, one thing that I would note is that this restaurant is on the more expensive side (ie. $9 for peanuts). Since coming here, I've tried nearly every other dish on the menu: the banh ran man, pho cuon, pho chien phong, banh mi que hai phong, and all of the noodle dishes. I have never left unsatisfied with a dish (except maybe with the banh mi que hai phong because it's a bit overpriced for what it is). The presentation of each dish is phenomenal and mouthwatering. Portions are a bit on the smaller side, so I would recommend an entree and an appetizer. Otherwise, I think this place offers something really special that other Vietnamese Portland restaurants don't and I highly recommend you to check it out at least once! :)

The vibe here was GREAT. Gorgeous spot. Both rooms (the dining room is split into two sections) were different and unique, and both really cool. The food, on the other hand, not so great. My husband and I were disappointed by the food portion size (for $24, I'd expect more of a meal), and the food didn't taste that great either. It didn't feel like authentic Vietnamese food. We probably won't be back here.

[ food ]: 10/10 * nam dinh style beef pho - I was so excited to try northern Vietnamese pho because of the wider noodles and the noodles did not disappoint! It also came with a side of bamboo shoots and pickled garlic, along with a hot sauce. The beef wasn't anything too crazy but definitely tasted higher quality than your normal bowl of beef pho. The broth was so light and yummy, usually beef pho can feel kind of heavy, so it was refreshing to taste this soup. * cao bang style duck and pork - this was probably the best bowl of pho I've had in a long time. The pork was grilled so you can taste the smokey flavor and was so tender, there were also pieces of crispy pork belly, and the duck pieces were delicious. The pho broth was very light and extremely flavorful, the herbs and spices really came through, definitely a solid broth. * grilled oyster with scallion sauce - Although they were definitely on the pricey side, I don't remotely regret ordering them. They weren't fishy at all, the sauce carried so much flavor. These oysters were so good!! * Jasmine Soursop Ranch Water - Couldn't taste very much jasmine but this was definitely one of the better ranch waters I've had.[ service ]: 10/10 * The wait staff were really helpful and friendly. They accommodated my peanut allergy with urgency and care. They were very attentive and dressed well![ ambiance]: 10/10 * The lanterns hanging from the ceiling were all so beautiful, I was sat in the back room and the walls were decorated with different traditional art and the plants strewn about the restaurant made the room feel very comfortable and clean. Such a beautifully decorated space.

We can here looking for Vietnamese food other than the usual and heard this place serve dishes from the North. First the servers were all friendly and greeted us with big smiles - great start. The decor is whimsical and nicely appointed - I recommend checking out the back room with the high voltage warnings. Now the food was delicious and reminded of the times we spent in Hanoi. The dungeoness crab spring roll was crispy and the salad rolls used the nicer rice paper, with delicious fillings and two very different sauces. The noodle was reminiscent of a food stall we ate in the old quarter and the clams were sweet and came with a big Asian donut for sopping up the sauce.

We got here right when they opened and surprisingly it started do her busy as soon as we sat down. Everyone who showed up after us had reservations. Love the ambiance! Such a cute place with good vibes and great staff. The gentleman who helped us was so kind and answered all our questions about the menu. He even told us how to "eat" one of the dishes we ordered. Food was good but spendy for such small portions. We will probably stop in again because there is another dish I want to try. It's all street parking btw, so the closer it is to dinner time, the faster the street fills up.

The dishes here feature the flavors of North Vietnam. Our favorite was the stuffed five flavor sticky rice. This place is DELICIOUS!!!!!!

My husband is from north Vietnam so we were very excited to try this restaurant. We got there about 30 minutes after they opened and we were the only table. It's all street parking, but we found a spot pretty quickly on a weekday. The decor is beautiful and gives a very modern, chic vibe. I love all the ceiling decor. The service was good, but we were the only table. As we were finishing up, I think there was another 1 or 2 tables. All the dishes we ordered were very tasty, but we especially enjoyed the duck rolls and bun cha Ha Noi. Northern Vietnamese food is more savory and less sweet. I think the portions could be a bit bigger for the price points, but it is suppose to be small plates to share family style.

I'm a sucker for a restaurant with tons of plants. But this place is not just cute it's delicious. The egg coffee is just like being back in Hanoi and the pho is flavorful. This is a place I can see myself coming back to many times to try more things

Elites in consensus that the service here is terrible. From beginning to end. Menu is so overpriced for street food & street portions. Drinks too expensive. The downfall is trying too hard to be elevated Vietnamese cuisine. Ambience is unique & interesting. They have a section of tiny chairs; for children or for decor, not sure.

Another new restaurant on the scene that is definitely worth the hype! We ordered about 5 dishes and each was packed with flavour. My friends got the lychee basil drink and the calamansi drink, both were excellent. The tea I ordered was light and complemented the food well. The pho noodles were a stand out for me. They tasted so light and fresh. Also, the dungness crab rolls were the highlight for me. When we went they were out of the clams and chicken skewers, which happen to be some of their more popular items, so I will have to come back another day for those. The menu is quite large and there's something for everyone. They have detailed descriptions of every food item at the back of the menu, which I appreciated a lot. Tons of GF/V options as well. Staff is very helpful about answering any questions. Will definitely be returning back for more.
