The Groovy Floret

My family and I just tried this gem for the first time and we definitely plan on coming back. First off, I've never experienced such amazing customer service! The lovely ladies working were so sweet and helpful and made my five year old feel so special. They explained the menu wonderfully- we decided to share the nachos and street corn, along with a couple of ciders and a polar water for our son (which was made special for him). As we went to sit on the spacious patio I had already declared we would be back for the service alone. We picked out a couple of board games to play while we waited and enjoyed the shade. Once our food came we were so happy with the portions and even happier with our food, and again the amazing service continued. They remembered my son's name when they offered a sweet treat for after lunch (which amazed me)! My husband could not wrap his head around the fact that it was all plant based. The cauliflower meat on the nachos was so good, and the nachos themselves were so flavorful! The street corn was served cold to my surprise (didn't really read descriptions) and was it a happy surprise on such a hot day. It was also so flavorful, nothing was overly spicy, but everything was amazing! My 5 year old said about a dozen times that it was the best food ever, and I agree! Highly recommend!

Cute little place in a trendy St. John's neighborhood! Ordering is walk-up, and it was fairly slow on a Sunday late afternoon. There is very limited indoor seating, but ample outdoor seating with covering and heaters. There is also a small play area as well as board games and corn hole to occupy you while you wait. The menu is fairly small- a few kinds of tacos and a few appetizers and sides. But, sometimes small and simple is great and it works for their small kitchen! We got coconut curry tacos with chickpeas and buffalo jackfruit tacos, as well as corn chowder. The portions are moderate- an entree each and a side to share filled two of us up with me taking home a few leftover chips and dip. We spent about $45. The service was very friendly- they were very kind to our two dogs. The food itself was decent considering how many dietary restrictions are taken in to consideration. We've had a lot of food that is both gluten-free and vegan in the area, but never food that was also soy and nut free. Though I did miss having tofu and cashew cheese, the chickpeas were great and their house queso was very creamy! I appreciate how inclusive their menu is. We'd definitely come back to try more if we lived closer!

The cauliflower "meat" is crazy delicious and really special!!Oh, I know many people comment on the friendly owner, and you don't care because you just want to know about the food.... BUT, she is really awesome and definitely adds to the experience.She had me LOL.

Fun and Funky Feel Good Food!This place was the perfect ending to a fun day! We started with some mini-golf at Wonderwood, which was super cute, but the food options weren't quite what we were craving. Luckily, we found this gem a little further down the road.Groovy Vibes and Delicious Vegan EatsThe atmosphere here is awesome! It lives up to its quote on the wall "Feel Good Food" from the moment you walk in. Brightly colored flowers adorn the walls, and the whole vibe is cheerful and inviting. Plus, everything on the menu is vegan! They even have their own signature "cauliflower meat" instead of processed alternatives. I've used cauliflower in tons of dishes, but never thought to make "meat" out of it - such a creative idea!Dishes to TryWe started with the queso and then had the nachos. Both were amazing, but next time I might choose a different main course since it was a lot of chips (delicious chips, though!).Cozy Patio SeatingIt was a chilly day when we visited, and the indoor seating was a bit limited. Thankfully, they had a great enclosed patio with plenty of heat lamps to keep us warm and comfortable.Overall ImpressionThis place is a great find for delicious vegan food in a fun and funky atmosphere. I highly recommend checking it out!

Cozy vegan spot with a large back patio. Great selection of WELL seasoned vegan food! The staff is super friendly and they have doggy watering stations for the pups.

My partner and I were out running errands and stopped in for a late afternoon cocktail with our small, well-behaved pup! (everyone was so stinkin' nice to our dog, it was wonderful)This place is a bright, colorful burst of fun! Truly groovy! We had the weather so we were able to sit on the patio and it was like being in a cozy and cute backyard, we really appreciated the amount of seating options even for a small-ish spot. The drinks were so refreshing and we cannot wait to return and enjoy more of the menu.

A cool little spot in the St John's area for some vegan tacos and snacks. We tried one of the Chipotle Salad Bowls and the BBQ Maple tacos which used jackfruit. The "meat" was very tender and the sauce was delightfully tangy. The salad portion was enormous, easily 2 meals. We were to full to fry some of the Jerry's dirty potatoes which I smelled/saw her cooking when we came in so that's on the list for next time.The inside is pretty small and cozy, a few tables to sit at by the order counter. But they have a large patio out back with a bunch of covered seating and a couple jenga games, tots for kids and even a cornhole set so also just a good place to hangout with some margaritas or some of their other drinks.

Probably my favorite vegan food in Portland and the owner is very kind and welcoming. The dirty potato salad is crazy good. :)

My good friend and I tried this place a couple days ago and OMG so yummy:) We tried the buffalo nachos which were so full of flavor and we really enjoyed all of the colors and textures. The corn soup was sooooooo good also. The owner was really sweet and personable as well. We enjoyed sitting in the outdoor space. It's super cute and clean and welcoming and we will definitely be back! Thank you:) Oh ya and the owner loves dogs which is always a big plus to me. Dog treats and water bowl available for the pups:)

Fun place with all vegan food in St. John's! We highly recommend the vegan queso, and the tacos were great, too. Check it out when you're in the neighborhood!
