The Clubhouse Bar & Grill

I've been coming here off and on since my early 20s, and it's a good place, right on BHH, with lots of parking. It's a dive/I would say sports-like bar. The staff is very friendly and ensure that you get served in order, even when busy. Which, this place does get packed. Outside can be a bit of a challenge as it is very smoker-heavy (and I do), but even it's a lot for me in such a small space and it's allowed in the covered area which is where you want to be in the fall/winter. Got the fish and chips which were only 12$, but definitely what you get at that price (pre-breaded, probably frozen), basically fish sticks from the grocery store. But! The clam chowder was great! Totally homemade, lots of clams and almost a sherry-like flavor. On par with Jake's, Mos, or even Pike Place! Check this place out if in the area.

I live pretty close to his bar, and my wife and I have been here more than once. It has a front area for dining and playing video lottery. Then it has a back area for pool and karaoke. I have to say their pizza is fantastic. And they have some slightly better traditional bar food than your average pub.I would go again, as the location is easy to get to the bartenders were friendly, plenty of parking, and it was fairly clean and maintained. The one drawback is they only have one pool table, and if you're looking to play, you might have to wait quite a bit, although the DJ was pretty good in the karaoke area. Inclusive and willing to play requests. All in all great place to hang out.

Inflation is rough these days. Maybe they import they're chicken strips and fries from Europe? Full disclosure I did eat one fry prior to this photo. Friar Tucks for a few dollars more and a mountain of food is better for the area. Good drinks and lots of TVs though, so it's not all bad, unless you're hungry for an adult size portion of food.

This place has 3-4 different TV services, therefore it has several different delays. We were watching a football game at the bar and you can hear the crowd upstairs reacting about 4 seconds before the play. Oh, and their pizzas are consistently undercooked. The last time we had to get our food to go and threw it in the oven when we got home.

First and foremost, the owner of this establishment hires really good bartenders, who are all friendly, engaging in conversation and attentive to patrons. If you are looking for a friendly neighborhood-style bar where the clientele are older (GenX and older) and people actually talk to each other, versus staring at their phones, Clubhouse is one of the more friendlier and welcoming (not to mention safe, clean and drama-free) bars I've visited in my 25 years of living in Portland.The drinks are fairly priced, the menu expansive enough to please most people and they serve breakfast all day long.

One of the best local "dive" bars I've ever been to. Great food (especially the eggs Benedict). Burgers are delicious.The entire staff is welcoming. There are many "regulars" and it is definitely a place that I will continue to go back to.

An absolute worst experience I could ever imagine having in any bar or restaurant. We came in with a group after a party with out of towners as we generally have a good time here. We had been ordering and tipping all night and one girl in our party ordered drinks and her husband said to just give a little cash because he was going to do a big cash tip when we left, at which point the bartender claimed he was refusing to serve us any longer because we "didn't show him enough love". Come to find out after all was said and done he altered our tab illegally and now I have to dispute it with my credit card company because I have the receipt showing what I left for a tip and he wrote in his own amount. Can't fathom how a business could be run as poorly as to have a bartender pull this type of scandal especially when everyone else in our party clearly was taking care of him and the one girl who was waiting for the end of the night he felt was a substantial reason to lose our business for a lifetime. Never will walk in here again and know the kind of people you're supporting if you do.

This would be my local fave if their drinks weren't so weak. Friendly service and good food, though.

The music is wonderful,very roomie, good environment, good crowed.food is reasonable, service is good didn't have to wait long to order food or drink.

In here one night with my boyfriend. Sitting at the bar having our drinks; only had two each mind you. The bartender Ashley seemed to be in a mood from the get go and on her phone most of the time; business was slow. At one point she asked us to leave with no explanation. The cook Aaron was out on the floor and started yelling derogatory words and shoved my boyfriend. At no time did they explain what we did and they both still work here even after the owner was made aware of the assault. We only go here for the good food. Consistently the service is poor even with two bartenders. They often don't leave behind the bar to help customers at the booths or tables.
