The Cazadero Steakhouse

We stopped in The Caz for a local steak dinner. We hadn't been here in years so we wanted to give them a fresh review. The restaurant itself appears clean, with basic tables and chairs. It's a comfy dining area without any fancy frills... except for the view. We love the lake view from the windows. Our server was friendly and efficient. It appeared there was just one server and limited chefs on a busier than normal evening. That made service a bit slow but not from a lack of the staff hustling. We chose the ribeye & NY strip dinners and an appetizer of jalapeño popper dip. The steaks were grilled perfectly and seasoned nicely. The sides were all tasty as well. The popper dip was really good but I wish there was more bread served with it. The few pieces of bread we got was only enough for about 1/3 of the dip even loading them up with dip. Overall it was a nice dinner with a great view and friendly service. We'll be back to try more meals soon.

It's been a while, but we decided to give this place another go. We called to see when live music would start (because we were hoping for quiet meal) and were told we needed to make a reservation. When we arrived 5 minutes prior we stood in the reception area for 10 minutes, waiting to be escorted to a table. A young lady was standing at the end of the hallway and never acknowledged us the whole time. Fortunately, an older gentleman appeared out of the kitchen and asked if we'd been helped yet. When we said "Not yet!" he went back and rustled up a server for us. We were surprised there were only two tables occupied at the time and wondered why we had needed a reservation. Our server brought waters and menus, then she disappeared for a good while. We both ordered the prime rib special and received our drinks after a short while. 40 minutes later our food arrived in spite of the fact only one other table became occupied while we waited. It was lukewarm, probably because our inattentive server didn't notice the orders were plated for a while. Fortunately, the cook is pretty good, because the prime rib was done right and very tasty, even though barely warm. Excellent veggie blend and real mashed potatoes. Also barely warm. Our dinner was constantly interrupted by shouting from the kitchen, but not by our server who never came back to check on us until the male server (who seemed to be doing a good job) noticed we were finished for a good while and apparently notified our server. Good help is obviously hard to find and I feel sorry for the owner who is trying to make a go of this place. Maybe better training/supervision? In any case, we won't be in a hurry to come back.

First time here, drawn in by the wonderful pics on Facebook. The meal did not deliver. The quick version: Most of what arrived at the table was tepid or cold. Two appetizers arrived with dinner (cold garlic toast, bland zucchini), one after (only hot thing on the table). French Dip and accompanying au jus were both far too salty.No warning about the brioche bun (if you have read my other reviews, you know my feelings on this. Bacon cheeseburger ordered dry had mayo. They swapped out bottom bun with a cold, dry bun and lettuce still wet with mayo. Also, no bacon on the bacon cheeseburger. "Just regular fries" were battered (no thank you). A side of fruit (the best thing on the table) did not arrive with a meal, but was brought out later.One server working to keep things going, and doing the best she could. Getting more people in the restaurant will not improve the quality of food coming out of the kitchen. More servers will also not address the food quality problem. This was disappointing.

Great time with great people listening to great live music on Saturday nights. A lot of activities throughout the week. Sit by the windows over looking the Clackamas River.

This place is full of rodents most of them are the staff. I realize it's Estacada and hard to find quality employees. Prices are to high for that town a confusing concept to say the least. They should turn it into a country bar with line dancing forget about a steak house video poker dive bar.

We made the trip from Beaverton after seeing the feature on Fox 12.news Sherry and staff have been through a lot and deserve local support. They serve excellent food, in a beautiful room and great staff. Go local!

Two stars because our server was very nice and did what he could quickly, but it took close to 45 minutes for our food (3 of us) to arrive. My potatoes were luke warm and my Ham and Cheese Omelette I think only had half an egg? It was a weird omelette with little seasoning. The two others in my party were not happy with their meals either. One of my friends ordered a sandwich and asked for a substitution on it, which the server repeated back and promised to make sure the substitution happened. When mine and the other friends meals came out, my friend who asked for the substitution was asked by the server, "you didn't want xxxx on your sandwich, right?" To which she said he was correct. Off he ran to the kitchen - he was back 10 minutes later with her updated sandwich. Even though he has asked/noted the substitution, the kitchen made the sandwich 'normal'. Additionally, when we were ordering, the server had to state multiple times that they were out of certain items and that the menu was going to be updated soon. Oh yes, the Bloody Mary... that was good - along with the very nice view. But we do not plan on coming back.

Do not waste your time or money. Have given this restaurant several chances. Our family is done. Very sad.

Had a dive bar sheik vibe. Good food. Great service and great view!Kayla made our dinner experience awesome. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Lots of changes lately but they are figuring it out. Good food. Little spendy but that's how it is.
