Idk if I'd call this place a Chinese restaurant per se, more like a bar that happens to serve Chinese food, but it's One of my go tos when I get late night hankerings and there aren't a lot of options as they're open til 2:30 am. While I wouldn't call their food authentic or world class by any means, they're General Taos chicken always hits the spot, and it usually tastes better at 2 in the morning if you know what I mean. The kung pao was not so good.I've ordered delivery a couple times and it delivers well. Solid portions but smaller than other Chinese greasy spoons. I went in person once and it can be quite loud and rowdy late at night, w/ karaoke and piles of puke in the middle of the floor. Not quite my scene lol, probly will just stick to takeout. But if u are looking for a drunk karaoke night out w/ fried rice & orange chicken, this is your spot.

Great Chinese food in a wild setting. Got takeout from here the other night and it was some of the best Chinese food I've found in Portland. I got the chicken chow mien and my husband got the pork fried rice and we were both delighted with what we picked. The guy at the counter was nice and the ambiance at this place is wild! This is a full service karaoke bar in addition to being a Chinese restaurant and it is super swanky. Loved the look and would love to come back with friends to try the karaoke and cocktails.

One enters into the bar, where you're greeted by a very personable bar tender. Lots of empty seats to choose from. Water and two menus were next. No hot and sour soup today egg flower was the soup of the day. And it was excellent, better than average. We ordered sweet and sour chicken which was all white meat and beautifully prepared along with a huge spring roll, that was loaded with vegetables. I had Szechuan beef which was battered and deep fried! Wasn't too bad, the sauce and rice were top notch. Lots of video games and what looks to be nightly Karaoke, glad we weren't there for that. Beautiful inside with a great aquarium behind the bar. Can't say enough good things about the waitress, she was very one of the best I've ever had. I'm sure there very busy at night,good food and looks like a fun place to be at night.

Stopped in for the first time in a long time. I decided to stop in on a whim for lunch. I have to say my food was delicious. I could have been fine with a few more slices of bbq'd pork. A little slim on the portion but was very moist and had good flavor.The bar tender/ server was a bit curt with little personality. It was like she was put out by waiting on me. Like I was an annoyance interrupting her nap time. The food was good so I'll stop back for sure.

First off, I have been coming to the Ambassador for a long time! I've experienced everything this place has to offer, from their food to their customer service, to the karaoke. All of it is great! I see they have some new staff and I heard new ownership too! The KJ booth has a sign that says if you had fun, let your friends know and leave a review and we had so much fun :)Tonight was a blast! We came in to celebrate my friend's birthday and it was awesome! The drinks were on point and the KJ was so nice, professional and accommodating to me and my group. Everyone sounded fantastic, great song selection, everything was a vibe!I do have to make a comment about something I heard at the bar.I saw the KJ go up and talk to a couple about a bad night they had here and he was being very polite to them. Apparently they had left a bad review. I saw the guy talking to the KJ who was explaining what happened but the girl that was with him just kind of stood there between them, smiling and giving off weird vibes and when she did finally speak, she was being so disrespectful! I heard her say that there are better places to karaoke than The Ambassador. Why would you say that?? I couldn't believe how rude that couple was being to the staff. They were told not to be rude or they could get 86'ed. They both walked out and I'm glad they left because I didn't want to deal with whatever drama they bring. Anyway, MY experience tonight and every other night I've been to Ambassador is stellar. It's a hidden gem that's been around for a long time and I hope it sticks around!By the way, I saw a 1 star review written today and I'm sure was that one girl saying things out of spite. I say come check it out for yourself!Be friendly to bar staff and entertainment staff and don't forget to tip them!

this restaurant is absolutely amazing and many more ways than. they accommodate too many walks of life, daytime nighttime nightlife, and it's always very welcoming with their staff. If you need help, ordering they're very efficient and helping you understand the menu if you have any questions, the food is always amazing. Always a wonderful experience when I went there.I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Niki is my favorite all time bartender and the owner is just as amazing. I promise you go check it out. You will not be disappointed.

If I could give zero stars I would. The lack of professionalism from the KJ is unreal. I've seen drunk creeps KJ better than this dude. If you actually want to have a good kareoke experience I wouldn't recommend coming here. Also I don't recommend leaving anything less than a perfect review or else they will threaten to 86 you.
