Thai Chef

We've been coming here for years and they have never disappointed. For a little "hole in the wall" place, the food is excellent and the staff is always so friendly. Sometimes we will find an extra cookie or biscuit added to our to go order. I have them on speed dial and go here when I have the craving for some good Thai food.

I really wanted this to be a great place. Food: meh. I just got chicken pad Thai & salad rolls. The pad Thai was ok-ish. Had a bit of a smokey flavor that was weird & the sauce tasted a little too much like ketchup. The salad rolls were good. Not incredible but good. Not quite enough peanut sauce but they gave me more in my to-go bag. I started to get the gtf out vibe about a quarter to 9 (when they close). I had asked when they close when I came in at 8. The food didn't come out very fast; I think I got it about 8:30. I was asked to leave with 8 minutes to 9. That was a little much for me. They were "nice" about it but damn, 20 mins to eat. Staff was out the door & in their cars at 9p on the dot (I was in my car answering a text). The ambiance- like any Thai place in an old strip mall in Oregon. I had been wondering if the reason it seemed empty whenever I drove by was just that this area wasn't big on Thai food but unfortunately I think the reason is it's just nothing to really get excited about.

Just had lunch here and my old review still applies - pad thai is delicious, definitely a 5 star dish! I got the medium spice with tofu. It was sizeable and ready in under 15 minutes for take-out. Their prices have gone up considerably since my last review. It is now $13.95.

We went back and my adventuresome nature bit me in the ass. I tried the BBQ Chicken and even asked for medium spicy. Sadly it was pretty bland, no evidence of the special Thai marinade or sauce.The rest of my party chose much better, also from the specials menu. We started with the ground chicken lettuce wraps as a shared app. The flavors were absolutely incredible. The right blend of spice, heat. The perfect consistency.The wife had the shrimp with asperagus. It was prepared with an amazing garlic sauce and served with vegetables.The girl child had red curry noodles with chicken. She was kind enough to share dive of that with me. It was the flavor, the heat and the incredible noodles that came together in perfect harmony.Service was prompt, friendly. The place is comfortable and clean. Prices went too bad although we did end up at $20/head with the single appetizer and no drinks.I will go back. I will get the curry. No more venturing away from what I like best.

Good food. Great people at the restaurant. Crab puffs and summer rolls are wonderful Tom Kah is prefect for cold and rainy. We like noodle, curries, and eggplant dish.

Lack luster for the price . Atmosphere is dingy , curry was watery, very little meat in the Penang curry beef. Expensive for what you get . I wouldn't go again .

Tonight I had the best Pad Thai I have ever had. Do not be put off by the modesty of the location. It is clean, organized, easy to access off Molalla Drive and wonderful. Give them some love and make a point to eat there. Everyone in there was raving about the 'something' special about the food. Great service, clean, efficient, unpretentious, great price and delicious.

If I could rate them 4.5, that would be more of a true rating. This is my go to Thai restaurant. The majority of the time the taste is consistently good. The staff could not be nicer! The price is decent, for what you get. They are quick. I will continue to eat here for the time being.

Definitely some of the best Thai food in Oregon city! They give very big portions as well.
