We ordered the La zi ji (Chongqing hot chicken), hand shaven noodle and lamb dry pot. Food: 5/5Service: No issuesAmbiance: Casual Value: 4.75/5 In terms of Chinese restaurants in Portland, I think Tasty Corner is one of the best Szechuan options available. Not many restaurants offer dry pot and they did very well here. My only suggestion would be having dry pots with more combination of meats and ingredients. Their hot chicken was good, sizable and boneless. Flavor and crispiness was on point. The hand shaven noodle also was better than I expected and had good flavor. If you like peanut sauce it does have a hint of peanut flavor to the noodle sauce. Service was attentive and drinks were refilled regularly. What stands out to me is the portion size and value. The dry pot contained a good portion of meat and so did the hot chicken. In some Szechuan restaurants it's just a massive pile of chillies and not so much meat. That isn't the case here. Tons of meat. Pricing aligns with other Chinese offerings in the area. I would say in terms of restaurant quality, this lines up to even some spots in the Bay Area. I would definitely come back again.

Easily the best Chinese in the entire Portland area. The mopu tofu, spicy wonton soup, spicy cucumbers, and walnut prawns are our favorite. Great delivery and really good service when you go in too.

Solid place. A good mix of Chinese and Chinese American dishes. For those purists, who can actually discern the true meaning of authentic Chinese dishes - the Tasty Corner has you covered. For those of us who have a little bit less culturally refined taste buds, the Chinese American dishes are delicious and maintain a fair amount of the original flavor. The service is helpful, and attentive, and the atmosphere is laid-back. It feels more like a diner, then a restaurant. But that seems to work. Especially given the location close to the university. If you're looking for a good place to get solid Chinese American food, this is your best bet in the downtown area.

Did not know what to expect ~ smiley welcome, comfortable modern layout and newly furnished seating. Excellent menu with professional pictures, makes everything look mouthwatering. Recommended ~ at first sip, this could be the best egg flower soup. Not salty, egg-llent eggy broth, not overly starched.XiaoLongBao dumplings handmade, thick wrap, hot soup inside, yummy. Handmade shaven noodles ~ texture so chewy perfect. Might ask for less heat if your tolerance is spice sensitive. Have you eaten here yet? Their handmade is arguably one of the best.Have ordered ToGo multiple times and the service is always friendly and makes sure you have all that you need to take back.Bathrooms are a dungeon nightmare :0Normally this is a deterrent but everything else about TC is awesome.Repeat customer.

The worst customer service! Such rude staff member. I went during lunch to order takeout. The guy was like so annoyed with me. The restaurant was mostly empty. I picked up the folded menu upfront to make selection. I asked for eggplant with garlic sauce and want to add tofu, he is like how much tofu. I am like umm what do you mean? A serving? He is like 3$?4$? What does that even mean. So I was like fine because he was so angry at me I got flustered, I told him I will get schezuan tofu. On the printed menu it says $9.49 and when I went to pay it's $12... and I asked price difference and he shouted at me! Oh it's old menu you should look at the dine in menu for prices. Wtf?The food came out really fast hence a star. But the taste was very very mediocre. If you want better Chinese food that is actually spicy and tasty Duck House down the road is soooooo much better.

Close to PSU with just an hour until a White Bird Dance performance, we needed a quick pre-show chow down. Couldn't of picked a better spot, food came out lightning fast for hand shaved noodles and a pot of hot tea on the house! $17.99 for Hot & Spicy House Shaved Noodles with chix beef & seafood. They were a lil' overcooked, not quite as firm n chewy as I like and an okay amount of meat...but hubby and I were sharing so maybe he was chucking it down quickly haha. Chili crisp oil ready on the table to add more fire if you underestimated your Spicy star level. We went with Level 1 because my tummy likes it lot less than my tongue :( and spice level was just fine for the belly, whew! Two servers came by numerous times to check if we needed anything and without prompting, take empties, fill waters, bring your bill, hustling hustling . Sure with campus customers they are used to turning tables for premium efficiency, it shows. There are lots of booths in a pleasant, bright dining room with TVs on wall; bathrooms are down a hallway that look like part of campus and you need a code. Yep the thrones just like school ones. Just 7 min walk to Lincoln Hall for the dance so parking outside once made our dine n dash a cinch.Lots more to explore on the menu and will welcome a return for soup dumplings and soups on this very Tasty Corner indeed.
