Great food here, friendly staff & quality is great not too greasy or salty at all, our food was prepared fresh but didn't take long at all and was a great experience honestly we will be back again

Nothing fancy, just good solid Mex food coming out of a very modest space. Honestly it's more of a kitchen than anything, with a few random generic tables scattered around, but you don't come here for the gritty, ho-hum ambiance... it's about the food. Everything's fresh, cooked to order and the portions are pretty dang healthy (especially the burritos). Tacos are no slouch either; they come on corn tortillas and are jammed with meat/protein, onions and more. I love the chicken Al pastor as a filling, it's a flavor bomb, but you can also get the usual carne asada or chorizo, etc, and there are a lot of vegan/vegetarian options as well. Prices are really good too and I love the fact that they have a slew of salsas at a separate self-serve station as well, -- at least 5 or 6 --ranging from mellow to 3 alarm fire. The molcajete is my jam but the rojo is much hotter, and I can't help sampling some every time. I will continue to cross the river (as I have for over 10 years now) to eat here as well as their other locations, though this one is closest to my house.

The service was awesome and my burrito was delicious and very filling (it's also not very far from the MAX)

Ordered chile verde plate and three tacos and it was all mediocre. Chile verde is supposed to be a stew of chunked pork in a a green sauce. This was dry shredded pork, no sauce. Cabeza taco was just mostly fat, asada taco dry, fish taco soggy with bell peppers. There is no description of their food on Grubhub, no photos and nowhere to ask for salsa which was not included. There are thousands of Mexican restaurants in Portland so avoid this one.

Really solid, good value, no frills Mexican food with tons of vegan options.We used to come here all the time when visiting Apex next door. They have a full, separate vegan menu with tons to choose from. We ordered the vegan soyrizo enchiladas($12) to share one afternoon, which was ready in about 10-15 mins. You get a generous portion of enchiladas, with nicely spiced soyrizo, with sides of vegan sour cream, rice, refried beans, and a lame iceberg salad with a tomato on top. Tasty, filling and good value. Still a good spot for the kind of food it is.

Had a pretty gross burrito here. First, the order was for carne asada, not shredded beef. Second, not only was this burrito poorly wrapped, but also loose, with its contents falling out. Not to mention it was disgustingly soggy. Sorry, this place is gross. There are many, many better places in town.

This is our absolute standby. We love the burritos (tofu fajita burrito is my absolute favorite). No other place has the range of vegetarian options Gorditos locations do. (Fajita plate is good but not as much for leftovers). Don't sleep on the breakfast burritos, either! Order ahead online is so easy for takeout to eat at home or walk next door to the brewery. The staff are great too!

One of my favorite spots for tacos! Fast, affordable and friendly service. Everything is so fresh. Iove their salsa bar. Sold menu with lots of meat options. The have s vegetarian and vegan menu too!

If i was in labor and they handed me a carne asada burrito from los gorditos instead of my baby after I'd probably be ok with it

This was the Chile Relleno Plato and I had eaten half the chile relleno. They are using chiles that were pickled in vinegar. Maybe from a jar? It ruined the flavor. Traditional chile relleno has a red sauce on top not salsa and sour cream spread all over. That added to the acidity from the pepper that shouldn't be there. I got the marinated chicken and steak with onion. It had oil and sauce, but it still oddly lacked in flavor, I was highly disappointed, will never go back. Wish I could get a refund. :(
