Smoky Hearth Restaurant Bar & Grill

Just in brief: the food quality ranged from excellent to inedible (steak bites were perfection, fish taco wraps could have served as a salt lick), the variety was impressive, and I can never fault a place for a wood-fired pizza oven. Service was casual-good, more like a low-key party than a serious restaurant, but that is not a criticism, I prefer a restaurant with a "served by friends" vibe. Drinks were good and well-mixed, although the bar selection is moderate at best. Prices were not too bad overall.All in all, it might be the best choice in Sandy, especially if you're a group that never agrees on food. (And get the steak bites...)

Absolutely some of the worst food I've been served. The brisket sandwich wasn't even brisket. It was a pot roast that was finely cut up and it was reconstituted with rancid beef grease since the meat was so dry and old. Completely inedible, I was immediately nauseous after one bite. The sliders were odd. Like Walmart frozen pucks that were grey and microwaved. No char no flavor. Horrible. Avoid at all costs.

This restaurant good but not great. Good size of portions. This is a place you go for taste & prices, not quality. Very filling comfort food. Servers are okay, but very busy. The new renovations are nice and the outdoor seating is pleasant -- style is 'modern bar'.

The food was really good! The Brussel sprouts were AMAZING!I have celiac disease, but since most people don't know what that is at first mention so I say I have a bad gluten allergy. Our waiter knew about celiac and offered to have them clean a corner of the grill so they could lessen the risk of cross contamination. He also caught someone bringing me the wrong burger. I cannot remember his name but he was great and the food did not upset my stomach!

Second time here and I made DUKE! The food here is really good! The first time we were here we shared a delicious pizza. Their signature brisket/baked potato was great! The staff are super friendly and come around often to check on you to refill sodas and wine. We will definitely be back for round three!

Lately have been having issues with food quality and service. Stopped by for a bite. Ordered the potato brisket. Originally one of my favorite items. Historically they crisp the brisket before serving. The last couple of times, no crisp. Mentioning it to the server. Said they 'always' crisp the brisket, umm. OK. Food arrives. Obviously no crisp. Irritating Brussels sprouts weren't great either. Undercooked in center and tasted burned on outside After that it seems we were nearly forgotten. No check on water.Asked for togo container. Waited......eventually got it ourselvesWaited for the check.....eventually paid minus check and left A family run and populated restaurant. Family owners are often there. Hope they can focus on more attentive service

Good food. Friendly staff. Convenience location in Sandy. We will return to try other menu options.

Pretty much what I would envision when thinking of the ultimate (non-stressful) family restaurant, but one that works well for mom-families too.Outside, there are lots of tables and attached green areas that had parents and kiddos frolicking in such an idyllic way. We aren't kid people and tend to more cringe at the idea of screaming brats kicking the back of your seat while parents act with the least and most ornamental-form of oversight. But, even we both remarked on how pleasant the family presence here was. It was simply happy without all the downsides. Awesome! On to the food...I had the Bug Boss (or something Boss, I just remember "Boss" was in there. It had their signature brisket with Swiss and au jus. Wow, good brisket! Texan approved. Miki had the chicken fingers because we're way too old to care what anyone thinks. They were very large and also tasty, so much so that she took her leftovers home. The fries were crispy and hot, hot, HOT (temperature, not spice). The onion rings were real and tasty.Adding quality food to such an inviting atmosphere is a definite win. We'll make this a perennial favorite when in Sandy from now on!

The food-service and ambience is It's a busy place so don't hungry, but haven't had wait long when we've gone.

Absolutely amazing the staff there are incredible. The food there is delicious. Absolutely recommend.
