Slingshot Lounge

Slingshot is the best. I'm hesitant to review it, because if one of you readers takes my favorite booth, I will be so sad! Inside, on one side, are big, big vinyl booths with long tables - perfect for playing scrabble on, or writing your next research paper, while having a nosh. The food I've had has all been super delicious. The veggie burger did require a fork, but so what?!!The bartenders are master drink makers, and are helpful. Also, the BEST blue slushie in PDX, hands down. Blue slushies are my love language. The other half of the inside has some seating and stand-up tables with pinball. All in all, it is a nice, big space that stays cool. They have one outside for smokers, which was like walking into the old smoking areas in airports. Remember those? Maybe not. Don't lose heart - the side of Slingshot has plenty of park- like tables with benches, and a covering to filter out some of the sun/light sprinkles/snow we get in Portland. Don't forget to check out the amazing crochet artwork on the side by the picnic tables by Jo Hamilton.

Friendly bartenders, great drinks and delicious and affordable food! I ordered beet salad and fried cauliflower! Very casual and inviting vibe. Gets pretty busy!

In midweek and had a nice visit. I'm not a beer person, but they have bunches of beer on tap and I have a sense the clientele leans towards beer. I hear they have a good selection.Service was prompt and attentive, checking in frequently. Drinks and food came quickly. This was a favorite place to get a dirty martini...I often ask for extra dirty...but this time it was a brown drink delivered and too much dirty! I did drink it but asked for less the next round and all was correct. They had onion rings for a special and they should absolutely continue them! Beer battered, crispy, the onions were perfect inside...some of the best I've had, ever.I ordered the fried cauliflower and for some reason, the last two times I've had it, it doesn't seem the same as pre-covid. Either it's changed some or I remember it differently. That said, I'm glad it's back! It's still tasty and I'll still order it. We also had the Caesar salad...standard. Large portion. Tasty.This is a nice hangout. Great place to get together with friends and enjoy good drinks and nosh.

Slingshot is a corner bar, and I really don't know why we don't eat there more often. The food is always great, they have an outstanding bar, they have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff are always fun with a smile and a quick joke! They seem to really enjoy what they do and truly care about their customers!

Great beer selection! Food was great, and our bartender was the most pleasant person I've met in Portland in years! She was an A+ for sure!! Unassuming from the outside, the inside was cavernous, clean and had a cool aesthetic. I met a buddy there for lunch, but I can see taking my wife there for dinner as well. A unexpected gem for sure.

Food and drinks are so good, can't wait to try brunch. Burgers really hit the spot. Fun drink specials too!

The hamburgers are excellent and fries are crispy. I asked for my burger well done and it was a rarity, well done to perfection! The service was great it quiet and ambiance during the day is great for a nice lunch.

bartender on 9/14/23 around 4:30-5pm at the slingshot was so incredibly rude. I have never had service this awful especially visiting from Bend. I asked politely to get quarters since the machine for the pinball was not accepting my bills. she then scoffed, rolled her eyes and handed me different $1 bills. then I asked later if I could borrow a pen, she pulled it out of her hair and threw it across the bar at me. will not return.

Bartenders were okay, drinks were not good, we ordered a strawberry mule and all we could taste was the ginger. Bartender refused to remake it and wanted to charge me for an entirely new one even though it was badly made. Service was poor.

One of the best corner pockets of Portlands SE dive scene.Cheap wells, many games, juxebox so you can play your own songs, and a huge double patio. Bartender on Sunday was friendly as heaven.
