Sandy Family Restaurant

This is a quaint restaurant that we stopped in for lunch. I really liked the interior as it reminded me of old school diners that I grew up with. The menu was really good and had a lot of comfort food on it. Our waitress was very friendly as well. The food was well cooked too. I ordered an omelette but unfortunately did not get pictures as I devoured it cuz I was hungry. Should I be back in the area, I would definitely stop in again! The prices are good and the food tastes great.

Came in shortly after the kitchen reopen. Meal was fine. Server was touting the Happy Hour menu. We had just missed the 2:30 to 5 availability. Came by again to specifically try the HH menu.Sadly not very impressed. Mandarin salad $8. Comes in a small bowl. Lettuce was super wet and of poor quality. Wouldn't recommend Burger with fries. $8 Not bad, bun a little dry. Brussels sprouts. $6 Meh. Not a lot. Super salty. Sourdough toastSteak bites. $9 mushroom and onions. Cooked fine. Had an odd taste. Multiple issues.... Fries were forgotten with burger. Steak bites went to wrong table, hence delayed. Never got homemade horseradish or au' jus' that came with bites New menu. After a late and long hike we decided to try out this local restaurant for dinner , food look decent the 3.8 stars should of kept us away but how bad could it have been well our group of 4 walked in the lady in the bar greeted us with a " sit close by i don't want to walk far away" zero welcoming i understand it was a lil late she might of been tired but really thats how you talk to grown adults??? I got a funny feeling it was more to that but my buddy asked if they still served food she looked with a smirk and said " you got 10 minutes" never from the start did we feel welcomed would not recommend this place to anyone im fact the worst service we got visiting Oregon 0-10 *Closing says 10pm we got there at 8:50pm

Folks,Don't sleep on this place. We had evening plans on the mountain torpedo'ed by bad weather and we were PLEASANTLY surprised by the quality and execution of the food. Definitely family friendly and not too hard on the wallet. We only experienced a few minor missteps that took it from five to four stars. Best part? We'd definitely come back!! UPDATE!!! We returned the next night and had excellent service. We now understand that the kitchen also serves the bar in the back. EXCELLENT food AND service. Family restaurant well, my friends.

I have to give major props to Sandy Family restaurant today! I've lived here for a while now and haven't had a chance to try out this restaurant. I ordered the French dip because my mother in law said it was good! Unfortunately there was a hair in my sandwich. I'm very shy and non confrontational but my waiter was super kind about it and they got me a new sandwich. They also didn't mind that my toddler was screaming and making a huge mess on the table. I would love to come back based simply off the experience I had today.Thank you all so much for a good first experience.

I consider myself to be a Reuben sandwich connoisseur and the Reuben here deserves a solid 9.5/10. Bread perfectly crisp, not soggy at all, but still has enough dressing and sauerkraut with plenty of tender corned beef. Gahhh, I wish I could relive eating it, it's rare to find a Reuben sandwich this good. The cajun tots were perfect on the side - very crispy and just enough seasoning without being too salty.Prices are fair and staff is super friendly. This place has so much charm and is the perfect stop on your way to/from Mt. Hood. I can tell you I'll be making a lot of stops here coming back from skiing this spring!

I moved to the Sandy area about 10 years ago. It took me a few years to try this restaurant. I was very impressed at first. The chef salad was the best and a few months ago I got one and shared it with two other people.The first time I got one I believe they were approx. $11.95. The one I got today was only enough for one person and it cost me $18.50.I know this is happening to a lot of restaurants. Getting less food for more money.When I went in at 4:00pm to get the salad, the place had no other customers.People can't afford to go out any more. It's getting ridiculous.

The food was good and the service was friendly and fast. I only dinged it a star because the coffee was weak and a couple tables sat with dirty dishes the whole time we were there.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Terrible place to eat. Everything comes out of bag with extra microplastics. Even worse place to work, don't even try, Gus and Ryan are the worst people I've ever worked with in a kitchen. While I worked at Sandy Family. I tell horror stories to this very day about Gus and Ryan. Who burnt the kitchen down!

We had an enjoyable time. I had the French dip sandwich with tots. My husband had eggs, sausage, and pancakes. When I asked for coffee to go she gave me a fresh hot cup. The waitress was super attentive.
