Sakura Express

Sakura express has one of the best chicken teriyaki plates! It's definitely a to go to, it's very fulfilling, the place is clean & has a nice friendly welcoming every time I go in (:

I came here again to get my craving satisfied for chicken yakisoba. It seems they may have changed owners since I saw new faces and some things changed around a bit. This place is no frills, not fancy just a few tables and a menu board. But they make a good plate of food. Bordering on huge portions. The chicken yakisoba is full of mixed veggies noodles and chicken hunks, it also comes with a big scoop of white rice. If you're hungry and want some good grub to go, give them a try

I have been craving curry for a long time. The curry hit the spot perfectly... The beef teriyaki was a different story. The meat was gamey and stringy. The chicken teriyaki was good. The customer service was good which bumped it up to four stars. They are right next to Fred Meyer which means that there is plenty of parking...

Delicious! I recommend the teriyaki chicken and katsu rice combo or the yakisoba with chicken. So good!

First time ordering here and super happy!! I got this chicken with jalapenos and onions, and it's pretty awesome. Theres a good 2-3 jalapenos worth in here. Feels very worth what I paid!

When I go to Gresham, it's only for Sakura Express and a little grocery run at Fred Myer's. My go to is the spicy pork. They do it just right. However, I went the other day to find new items on the menu!! Korean fried chicken!! If you never had Korean fried chicken then you're missing out. There are a few spots in Portland, but hands down Sakura Express has the best Korean fried chicken! Its extremely delicious! Portion sizes are generous for the price, the sauce is amazing, and the chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I tried the Sweet Heat so far, but it's always on my mind. I don't live too near, so I ate a chicken on our way home, and it still kept its crunchiness by the time we were home. This is key during Covid-19 times when we can't dine-in. Anyway, I can't wait to make a trip back to try the other flavors!

I was on my lunch break from Fred Meyer when I entered Sakura Express I saw a warming case with their new Korean fried chicken that is displayed. When I took it to the break room at work (3 minutes) I had to put it in the microwave oven because it was ice cold. I paid $7.99 for cold restaurant chicken.Very disappointed

Unfortunately, I can no longer give this restaurant good reviews. Ordered delivery as a treat now that the ice is melting. The Soy Garlic Chicken was inedible. Full of gristle and indigestible. A real shame.

The food is good and I have no complaints about it. I do have an issue with the 'To Go' service. The containers are made of thin cardboard and get soggy from the oils/sauce in the food. The rice balls stick and by the time you get to the bottom of it, you end up scraping up cardboard bits along with the rice on your fork. If you take out multiple orders, they stack them and the one on the bottom gets flattened because the paper trays cannot support the weight as it gets soggy and wet.
