This food cart is tucked away down a small alley. Outdoor seating is shared with Someday bar and Whole bowl. Their menu is small, but everything is done to perfection. The salads and pork chop presentation change regularly.Almost everyone who comes here orders the rolls, which are served warm with softened butter and jam. The squash salad was an umami bomb--delicious with curry flavors and roasted squash.I don't know how they do it, but the pork chop has yummy burnt fat bits and is juicy and tender. The preparation today was like a perfect BBQ dinner with the sides all in one bite!Everything here tastes more delicious than you would expect it to. Service is friendly, and they somehow remember who you are to bring your order out to you! No taking names here :0

We finally got the chance to try Ruthie's last weekend. It's been on our list for a while and just hadn't made it yet. The food we had was amazing and so full of flavor. It is definitely something you should try at least once. The price for the main entree was a little high for my liking but I truly do understand that things are more expensive and you get what you pay for.

Inspired by the Netflix series, somebody feed Phil, this was on my list for a long time! Finally got to try it out and was not disappointed. The cart is tucked away in this super vibey part of Portland and is connected to a bar and a few other food carts. Got the rockfish sliders and potato salad and both were awesome! Would definitely go back.

Ruthie's is a little food cart located behind the Someday bar on SE Division St. It's an adorable small food cart pod that feels like a secret garden / hidden gem. They've gained a lot of popularity since their features on Netflix's 'Somebody Feed Phil' and 'Street Food.' The business is named after owner Collin's grandmother. They're all about locally sourced and seasonal food. Eater described it as modern Mormon food. They use a wood fired oven. I've been wanting to go for a while and finally made plans on recent spring week. We were experiencing a heatwave so Ruthie's switched up their menu to make food that required less use of the oven, so their staff weren't miserable or at risk of heat stroke. (Super hot weather can be just as challenging as super cold weather for food carts! Support 'em when you can!)I was a little bummed to miss out on their typical menu, but I appreciate that Ruthie's communicates well about changes to the menu and their hours via Instagram. And thankfully we could still get the famous rolls!I enjoyed the vegetarian sandwich, it was a broccoli and salad mix that tasted bright. Not necessarily something I'd order again but maybe something I could attempt at home. The rolls were a perfect texture and so big. I only wish they were a little toasted or warmed. Service is a standout here - usually you will find the biz owners working. They brought out food out to us with a smile and shared a little bit about the items. Not typical for a food cart! I'd love to go back to order off a different menu, since it changes throughout the year to match the season!

Cool little food truck hidden through an alley in the back of a bar outside patio. Since it was so hot they didn't have their normal wood fired options but what we got was still really tasty. The grandma rolls with the butter and jam were 10/10. A bit pricey but they were well worth it. We came here because we saw this truck featured on a Netflix show. Would have been nice to try some of their wood fired dishes but I'm happy with the rolls we got.The chicken salad sandwich was pretty good, they add bits of Fritos which gives it a unique salty and crispy flavor. With so many food trucks in the area I'll probably try somewhere new next time but if you're here for a short trip it's definitely worth checking out

This was a long overdue review (we visited it last year) because I was torn to give it 2/5 stars for the supposed-to-be-so-love food truck in PDX. We did not enjoy the food at all. I bookmarked this place when my friends told me about the Netflix Street Food episode featuring Portland, Oregon. It's in a cute backyard garden, right behind a bar mentioned in previous reviews. Street parking in this area is usually super chaotic, so plan accordingly. Super friendly service from the owner himself! I came here specifically for Grandma Ruthies's Famous Roll. It was dried and not flaky. I didn't care much for the jam or butter that came with it. It was genuinely sad because everyone else raved about how much they loved it!My husband ordered the pork chop, and he said it was thin and small for the price. It was overcooked with not much flavoring. We haven't returned to give it another chance since I didn't like how many times I had to circle the block to find parking.

Wood fired menu on a food truck!? Say what. After seeing Ruthies on a Netflix episode I was sure to bookmark them to try the next time I was in the area. They are in a surprising space for the food cart pod since it's in the space behind Someday bar and tucked in from the main road. It's quite nice since they are able to have an area with picnic tables and heat lamps away from the traffic. They had outdoor seating but it was cool that we go to sit at the bar in Someday and they were able to bring us our entrees to enjoy inside. The menu here is seasonal and during our visit we were able to try their infamous grandmas rolls (2 an order), rock fish slider (1 per order), and pork chop. We were grabbing drinks elsewhere after so the above was good to share between three people since we did two orders of the rock fish sliders. I enjoyed the fluffiness of the grandmas rolls and love the butter/jam they pair it with. Those were probably my favorite but the pork chop was the clear winner within the group as it had a great char but paired well with their tomato jam and leeks. Filling but not too heavy at the same time. The sliders were good to try but I would opt to try something else next time. Simple, clean, and nice upscale flavors. Be sure to come early before the sell out!

Ruthie's is dang tasty. We only got 2 things cause we weren't too hungry but both were delicious. Rockfish slider and grandma's rolls. Both cooked in a wood fire oven to give them a toasty flavor. Super good food cart.

The best food that I ever tasted! Everything is absolutely delicious! I saw this truck on a Netflix food truck episode and thought I would try it when visiting my mom in Portland with my daughter. The biscuits were unbelievably tasty and moist. However, we wanted to go back the next day and it was closed. We tried to go back a couple of other times during our trip and they were closed too, but no signage indicating the vacation. Still, I would go back again and give it a try. It was worth the trip. I had the porkchop as well and it was perfect. The food is fresh and seasoned well.
