The group I was with had planned on stopping in at a different bar but then it was closed unexpectedly so we wandered down to R&T and what a serendipitous choice it was!Great vibes! Good pours and a good beer selection. The back patio was tardis level of huge since it just kept going but we opted for indoors.It was the perfect spot for some nonsense with friends. Staff was great too.

Many years later and this is still one of my favorite bars in Portland. I no longer live in the neighborhood, so my visits are less frequent, but I still feel right at home here. The staff is wonderful, and they have fun trivia and bingo events here regularly.RAT FOREVER!

This is by far the best bar in Portland! The food, the staff and the back patio is amazing!!!! Definitely recommend this place because it's one of my favorite places. My husband and I celebrated our wedding dinner here and the staff and owners made it extra sweet and special and for that I'm always grateful to the Rose & Thistle " The Rat"Thank you for always being a safe space for us.

I love this dive bar! It was fun to poke around the main dining room and the patio. The patio had fun tucked away booths. The veggie quesadillas tasted amazing! They were seasoned perfectly and had small zucchini slices in them, among other veggies. I am coming back for them soon! The service was quick! A server at the sports bra recommended this bar to watch male sports games. I love the Portland small business community

This place fucking rules. The scotch egg is the best. The cowboy burger will make your socks leave your body in a violent fashion.

This dive bar is a solid locals spot for drinks and decent food. It's got a beautiful patio area out back where you can take your doggo. They have delicious slushie drinks that I try each time I go!

This is a laid back pub, with (good) pub food. There's an outdoor patio out back which is wonderful. There is a laid back vibe here, go up to the bar, make an order. Don't expect table service, or white napkins (unless paper counts). The inside is dark wood, and has a real "old vibe", along with past mementos, stickers, and.. dust. I came here once just to get some water and cool down, RIGHT as they opened, and the bartender was really friendly (but not overly falsely friendly) and perfect. I noticed other orders coming out quickly from the back. I've also been here for a beer here and there, and some grub. All good.

The food is always great especially on a cold day. Everyone that works there is funny and helpful. It's always great for big groups, especially sitting outside.

Food was good, but they use a lot of the dining room area for games so a lace to sit and eat could be not available

Drinks were awesome. Bartender was so nice and accommodating. And the Caesar salad was probably one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had in my life. Love this place and the patio vibes. You definitely need the adult mystery bag from the vending machine!
