Reverend's BBQ

Did a catering order here for a work lunch and everything was great. I called 24hours prior to order for 15 people. They were super helpful in helping decide how much food i should get. With the service fee ended up being $33/person.The food was fantastic! Got the fried chicken thigh, brisket, ribs, potatoe salad, mac, salad, baked beans and rolls. A ton of food and other was all delicious! Hands down the best resturant brisket I've had and everyone enjoyed it.

The most mediocre "BBQ" I've ever eaten. Price point is high. Customer service low. Atmosphere is mid. Sticky tables. The date I took here raked it a 4.6/10 I thought that was generous. Let's start with apps. I got the smoked chicken wings $8.95 for 3 wings...that looked naked and lacked flavor. For smoked wings it was as if the smoke was wafted on them. Their ranch was thick and lacked flavor I was surprised I've never had a flavorless ranch. I got the rib plate that was decent. Ribs were low quality for meat and sauce flavor. Pretty stingy on sauce for ribs. Reminded me of apple bees ribs. Fries were amazing the best part honestly but for $5-$10 I'm not a fan. Got a side of Mac which was bum...velvita noodles without the flavor. Dry felt like it sat out for hours. I'd rather buy and make the velvita at home at least theirs flavor. Ordered one of their salads and it was wilted lettuce vinaigrette lacked any flavor tasted like oil on my salad and I ordered the ranch but we know how the ranch went. Everything was so subpar I am astonished they have customers coming back. Reminds me of microwaved dinner. I come from Texas and South Carolina so maybe I'm spoiled but I've tried other BBQ joints in here and I have to say go anywhere else if you want to feel like money was well spent. My pluses was the neighborhood was calm and gave me good vibes. It's spacious inside and has a/c. Go anywhere else promise even apple bees or some low quality restaurant can accomplish better BBQ than the reverend. Matches the name since you have to have faith it tastes good.

Absolutely my favorite bbq. Food is awesome and tasty. That said...Beware of the wait if you order takeout or pickup. Whether through a site or over the phone. Arrive 20 minutes AFTER the time your food is meant to be ready. I called today and they said 20 minutes for a salad and some deviled eggs. Showed up 40 minutes later and was told "two minutes more" and the deviled eggs had clearly been sitting out the entire time while the salad got finished. They are runny and melted. The last time I was here, the gal working extended me a $25 gift card because the food was nearly 30 minutes later than I had been told. They're clearly trying to fix this issue. Idk if maybe they're missing some additional help in the kitchen, but either way I think customers would appreciate accurate wait times.Bottom line: eat in the restaurant or show up 30 minutes after they tell you to

Great service here. We sat at the bar and were able to enjoy the sport games they had on. Plenty of TVs all around. The margaritas here are quite tasty! I ordered the house salad with fried chicken and it was a great meal. I liked the decor and paintings.

It was Father's Day and it was very busy. We went an hour before we were meeting up with our son and his fiancé and put our name in. We then took a nice walk around the neighborhood. When we came back, our table still wasn't ready and we waited next-door for about 15 minutes longer and enjoyed a beer there. I think our waitresses name was Cynthia and she was fabulous. We started off with the deviled eggs, which were delicious.We had the big house salad, which was also amazing. Then the platter came with the two sides. There were four of us and there was still leftovers. Everything was exceptional except the mac & cheese to me wasn't anything special. I think getting the big meat platter is a great deal . Would definitely come back and would highly recommend if you want some good barbecue.

We wanted to try a different BBQ place just to see and TBH, this place kind of got me with their banana pudding. In fact, it's a must with every order and I will not share. It was so good. The first time we ordered a big shareable tray and not only was it fully loaded, but tasted great. Enough food for a couple days to be certain. I love deviled eggs, but I love them more with tasty brisket. We've enjoyed the variety of sides they have to choose from as well and love the crispy top on the mac n cheese. Their burgers are also super tasty. BBQ is kind of pricey in general but this is no more expensive than others and the portions are plentiful. They have lots of sauces to suite a variety of tastes. Everything has arrived in great condition with delivery as well. We'll continue to order food because it's been good consistently.

Reverend's BBQ is a nice little gem in Sellwood! Food is yummy, portions are nice, and prices seem to be on par with other comparable places. Lots of seating, outdoor area is nice! Service was quick, and food was coming out as well!

No wait time, quickly seated. Spacious place. Food was okay. I've had better bbq but it was good. The potato salad was actually really good though!

On arrival we were seated immediately and did not have to wait. The place was not very crowded but mostly filled. We ordered a starter , 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees.The coffee was normal.The chicken wings starter was a little sweet for my taste but had the perfect crispness.The fried chicken sandwich was tasty and I had it with a side of some spicy sauces.The beef brisket sandwich was really delicious and would go again just for that.

They serve prime rib on Saturdays after 4pm and it's delicious! 16 oz smoky flavor, medium rare (no substitute) with a side of mashed potatoes and horse radish. So good!
