Great food, attentive staff and chill vibes. The flavors from each dish really came through. I especially loved the beef and pumpkin curry. The glass noodle pad Thai was delicious, and the beef basil dish was super flavorful. The mango sticky rice was very good. The portions are large and packed with warming aromas and spices. The apothic red wine serving was a bit small for $8. The average menu item price is $16-$20 with the dessert being roughly $8. A more upscale Thai food pricing with a chill environment indoors. Would love to enjoy the next time from the comfort of my home! Thanks Red Onion!

My favorite Thai restaurant in the city. Plenty of seating, attentive staff and delicious food. My personal favorite is the chili chicken. It has large portions, very flavorful (sweet yet savory) and has the perfect crisp that's soft but yet very crunchy and doesn't ruin your gums.

Heard of this place for years but never walked in to try until today. This is one of the very few Thai restaurants I think have great food, taste, service is very kind and helpful. I recommend ordering anything really, because the main dishes are huge for the price you pay which isn't common, so yeah... I ordered the friend chicken bits and Kao Soi. Such a huge bowel. I wasn't expecting a big portion, but was pleased. The curry in the Soi is perfect with every bite. That chicken was tender and flavorful.

Food is close to top quality for Portland. Arrived 20 minutes before posted closing time and was told we could not eat in which was why we went there.Friendly kids in kitchen and at counter, but unconcerned with our happiness. This was a better restaurant before they moved!

My new favorite spot now. Hosts are friendly. Ordered online via Red Onion website, click on "Order for Pick Up" or "Order for Delivery" and it takes you to the the easiest ordering site. Food was ready in 10 mins. All meals were double packed - thick plastic then a large brown paper bag. No breaks or leaks in the car. For Lunch order, volume is ample for two meals. L1 - Spicy Chicken, Shrimp Crispy Basil (Hotness Medium+) L7 - Red Curry Chicken (Hotness Medium+) If you are like me and love to munch on Habaneros, then choose "Thai Hot" as my food was not spicy at "Medium+"Opens at 11am weekdays, a huge +++ unlike other Thai restaurants near them (and my work) opens at noon, which delays ordering and returning to work. I highly recommend Red Onion.!!!!!!

Today I had the sockeye salmon for lunch and it was so delicious. I took some Pad See Ew chicken also for dinner and also enjoy It. I probably will go back again tomorrow for lunch. They have a really reasonable prices on the lunch menu. Most dishes are less that $12 dollars which is cheaper than most fast food places and 10X better

This popular spot is decent. The roast duck red curry was creamy and saucy with all kinds of fresh fruit in it, including logan, pineapple, grape, etc. on top of the protein and vegetable. Very tasty combination. Pad kee mow was pretty decent as well. Though I have not had it with relatively raw bean sprouts else where - not bad but different. It had medium sized diced tomatoes in it as well. There are different styles of kee mow across the restaurant world and this is not the most common one so worth a try.The hosts are friendly and responsive. I had an issue with my dish and they took care of it well. The vibes in the restaurant is modern and clean. Not super "Thai" head to toe, more like "Thai" elements. Hip street to be on, and no shortage of patrons.

Sheldon only eats Thai on Monday's, but I'll take Thai anytime, anywhere and especially if its so close to home . Red Onion has a huge fan following in the area and for good measures . The food is delicious , the service is fast and there are almost always lots of leftovers .We used to come to Red Onion even before they renovated . The fresh look is definitely more appealing and inviting but the prices are as good as before .Parking is always a pain in the area and worse on the weekends.

The food here is not good. The prices were fair. I ordered Tom Yum soup with a Thai spice level along with Angel Wings, which were not wings but stuffed chicken legs instead. They were okay, but the sauce that accompanied them was super sweet and sticky. The Tom Yum Soup - all the flavors that make Tom Yum soup great weren't present. I didn't taste the level of spiciness I so desired. It was like there was no spice in it at all. The chicken in the soup tastes funny and there was a piece of lemongrass in it that I couldn't eat. I ordered for delivery and the food arrived hot, however, my soup had begun to spill in the bag and it was because the way the food was packaged. Overall, I would not eat here again. There is better Thai food elsewhere.
