Proud Mary Coffee

I can't believe I just now discovered this coffee shop with the most amazing brunch food in town. This has become one of my favorite brunch place and it's super kid friendly with a little section of toys just for kids to play with. My party ordered few items to share. We had the avo toast, Turkish eggs (amazing), the potato hash with pork belly, and the ricotta hotcake (one of my favorite and the perfect dessert for me with the right amount of sweetness and coffee syrup). Staffs are friendly and the place is the right size with beautiful daylight windows on top.

Tldr yummy ingredients but not to my personal taste. Was not satisfied with the salmon.My biggest disappoint with this place was the salmon. I thought there would be more pieces hidden under the salad or something but the total amount of salmon was maybe 4 full bites. I'm ok with eating papaya salad but I think the dish should be named to papaya salad with a side of salmon instead. The potato hash was yummy. The hash had a super nice crispy texture and soft insides and the sauce was also very savory. The pork belly was the best part, super tasty and not too heavy. The greens were a mystery but if you like mint or basily flavors you should be good. My friend was unpleasantly surprised lol.The drinks were also very good! I liked the hot date because I like banana smoothies. The yuzu drink was also very delicious. The flavors blended well and even though I don't like gin at all I enjoyed the drink. The bloody Mary was ok? I got it virgin and it was super salty but the candied bacon was really good.

Host immediately greeted us and was very welcoming. Being very hungry, we asked for a lemon pistachio cake to share while we waited for our meals. It was pretty good, with a very lemony glaze. My dining companion had a flat white which was delivered to our table very quickly. It was aesthetically pleasing and the report was that it was good. I just drank water which was provided via a jug on the table and served at room temperature which delighted me!I dug in when my chicken torta came - the roll was delightfully toasted with mango sauce both on the roll and on the side. This sauce was great. I also enjoyed the razor thin radish slices and the very fresh vegetables on the sandwich. The chicken didn't do much for me and I could've done without it. This dish came with a side of house made chips and these were my favorite out of everything; so light and just perfectly fried and seasoned. My companion ordered the potato hash and did not particularly care for it. We got individual carrot cakes to go - the ingredients are, in my opinion, what makes a carrot cake a carrot cake - discernible pieces of carrot, nuts and raisins. That's right, I said it - raisins. The cake was moist and the frosting was light. Nothing super sweet about it, so that brought me pleasure. Server was sweet, the place was clean, it was very noisy, but it was the noise of people out together enjoying themselves, so I couldn't hate that.

Another great experience. I love that Proud Mary is just consistently amazing. Staff are always so friendly too. I got the potato hash this time and wooowww definitely recommend that dish! Perfect for a brunch/lunch spot.

Great and friendly service. Beautiful interior with indoor and outdoor seating and even a to-go window!The ricotta pancake was presented beautifully! I could only finish third of it since it was such a large portion!The magic mocha was delicious!

I will admit after seeing the reviews I set my expectations high- And I don't think it quite met the expectations. The food was good, but not great- And the coffee was more on the bitter side. I also felt the space was hard to hear because of the lofty setting- and the chairs were hard and wooden. I wouldn't say it's a bad coffee spot, but I think it's for certain moods/vibes. I would go again, but it's not my fav out of my Portland experiences.

Really great vibes, bright, bustling, but still on point personable attentive service. Brunch was decent. Pastries were great - the carrot cake was super moist. Long black was perfect.

Amazing coffee roast and bean selection. It's wonderful that they provide producer and tasting information about their specialty beans. The brunch menu is delicious and beautifully presented. All the menus are not too heavy but very satisfying, having different textures and various flavors. They also change the menu periodically, so every visit offers something new to try. The staff is very kind, and the barista is incredibly knowledgeable. Occasionally, there's a wait, but other times there's none. There are indoor and outdoor seating options, large communal tables, and a quick take-out coffee window. This is definitely my favorite brunch spot in Portland.
