Phuket Cafe had been on our list forever, and we finally made it! There's always a wait for dinner, and reservations are tough to get, so definitely book well in advance if you're planning to go for dinner. We ended up going for lunch, and it did not disappoint--absolutely delicious! We started with the Kia tofu, which was perfectly crispy without being greasy and packed with flavor. The Mon Tod (potatoes) came in a generous portion and were super tasty. The standout for me was the Pad See Ew--by far the best I've had in Portland (and trust me, I've tried it at just about every Thai spot in town). The curry noodles were also a hit, with a perfect balance of sweetness and just the right amount of spice. The outdoor patio, with its cozy heaters, adds to the charming and festive ambiance, making it a great spot even as the colder months approach. I was so pleased with the experience and can't wait to come back for dinner. Highly recommend!

Came here for a late lunch and it was not as busy as we've seen it for dinner! Although it seems there's different menus for lunch and dinner, we were pleasantly surprised with the food! With seating indoors and outdoors (the outdoor seating is covered which makes it perfect if you want to visit during rainy weather, as it also has space heaters), there a decent amount of space for all.We got 2 appetizers and 2 dishes to share between 3 people and that was plenty! The tofu and potato appetizers were so good, I could eat those all day and be content. The yellow curry was good and had a good tangy flavor to it. The pad see ew was delicious and the noodles were cooked to my liking.Definitely was to come back and experience the dinner menu. Would recommend Phuket Cafe!

For a city that has a lot of thai food, I was recommended this place by a colleague and boy, it delivered. I would argue it was the best thai food I've had in my life and wish I had more time to eat through the menu.Relatively small shop but very Portland vibe. Street parking is hit or miss pending on when you go but service for takeout was pretty quick. But geez, the flavor on the food here is insane. I got a pad see ew for lunch and while price is a bit higher than normal for thai food, it is so worth it. The pad see ew has some char but the sauce that coats each perfect noodle is intense - sweet, savory, umami goodness. The pork is super tender and well flavored too and the vegetables are cut the right size, right tenderness and helps you feel healthier. Noodles are wide and floppy and thus take in the sauce perfectly. I dare you to find me a better rendition of this dish anywhere. They have a flipped menu for dinner, so worth coming different times of day.

Similar to other reviews I came in with high expectations and ultimately felt it was lackluster. Let's start with the good:- cocktails (both were absolutely delish)- service (our server was so sweet, attentive, and informative)- curry sauce with the steak (I'd come back to try the curry's just because of the sauce)Bummers - the steak itself was fine - paella - if it was $10 cheaper I'd be okay with it but it didn't have the expected crispy paella, didn't have a lot of protein (without paying for the extra octopus)- cost - there are other Thai and Paella places for the same price that give more food and are betterCan't say I'd come back again unless it was for cocktails

Super busy on a Saturday night. We had not reservations so wait was a little over an hour. Ended up sitting outside which is nice, but I'd avoid the ones against the window. The space between the counter and your bar stool is quite big unless you have a long torso.Service and food was amazing!Prawn Curry - Super good, definitely my favoriteLan Roc Pork Chop - Tender and cooked wellGarlum Pree - Cabbage wasn't really fried but flavor was all thereMon Tod - Was ok, nothing too special so skip

Phuket Cafe exceeded all expectations! From the moment we stepped in, the fast and friendly service made us feel right at home. The quality of the food was outstanding, with every dish bursting with delicious flavors. We savored every bite of the glazed pork belly bites, fried tofu, crispy chicken nuggets, prawn curry, dry-aged ribeye, and the refreshing coconut ice cream. What impressed us the most was the variety of dairy-free Thai tea options available, catering to different dietary preferences. The cute decor added to the inviting atmosphere, although it did get a bit loud as the night went on.Considering the portions served family-style, along with non-alcoholic drinks, the bill was very reasonable at $155 for three people. Phuket Cafe offers an exceptional dining experience, and we can't wait to return for more culinary delights!

Came here without a reservation and they were so nice and accommodating to getting us a table outside. We enjoyed every dish we ordered especially the Tom yum one. It was full of flavor and perfect over rice! The mushrooms also had a nice kick to it while also being very tasty. Overall enjoyed every dish here and would come back again!

Phuket Cafe continues to be a date night favourite for us (along with the special occasion chef's tasting menu: Langbaan). We love the cozy, elegant ambiance and service is impeccable. We prefer getting a chef's counter seat as you get to watch the chefs at work on the Japanese hibachi grill and enjoy the delicate aromas. The food and drink are always incredible. This is upscale Thai, not your classic dishes like Pad Thai or Pad Kee Mao. They have amazing pork bites (add sticky rice), fried pompano fish, fish collar (special), Thai paella, and many other incredible dishes. We have loved everything we've tried. The cocktails are great too. Right now I'm enjoying the Mary MacGregor (a scotch based cocktail) and my wife is enjoying the Charm Garden (Gin). The waitress just brought out the special: Grilled Lamb Belly and omg it's is incredible. We should probably try other restaurants but this one is so amazing. This evening update: This might have been our best meal yet. The grilled cabbage and panag curry were amazing too. Also had the pork bites which we always get. The French Connection (bourbon based) was possibly even better than the MacGregor - jury's still out on that one.Everything was a home run.

Cozy and chill ambience, Phuket Cafe was great for a group dinner with friends. I love the wooden interior that mimics traditional Thai houses. This contrasts their vibrant colors really well.Their food and drink menus were also very creative and enticing. A modern rendition of traditional Thai dishes. Family-style is encouraged. I tried the Mary McGregor for drinks and it's smokey and complex. The Copacabana Punch was a favorite at the table. We got a few dishes from each category to share for food. We started off with the Thai Pickle Plate and Gai Tod for snacks. The pickled vegetables were tasty but the amount given was a tad stingy. Gai Tod, on the other hand, was more generous. Super juicy on the inside while crispy on the outside. It had a very karaage-feel.For mains, we got the Thai Paella, Panang Curry, and Pork Chop. All three were delicious and the highlight of the meal. The Thai Paella was super unique. Fluffy rice up to while the bottom formed a crispy tasty layer. The clams on it were very fresh as well. The Panang Curry had great flavors, not very spicy though, and came with a perfectly cooked Wagyu steak. Lastly, my favorite, the Pork Chop. It's a deconstructed laab which was, again, very fun and unique. The pork chop itself was soso tender. Would love to be back for this.We also got one side of the Eggplants which were very well-cooked over open-fire grill. The creamy texture paired well with the crispy shallots on top.Service was great as well. We had a great time. Definitely on the spendier side of things but it's worthwhile.

Sad our beloved Ataula is no longer but Phuket makes us just as happy. The vibe is lively, interesting & flavorful menu, smiley service every time.Recommended ~ tofu, paella, eggplant, potato.Calling Singha the 'King of Thai Beers' is a boastful claim, but it is fun to well round the Thai experience especially since it is on tap.Yeah, Thai restaurants are everywhere in the PDX but PC is a fun afterwork environment for cocktails & bites.
