Paradise Sports Bar

I came in here after having an old fashioned along with a fried chicken salad at east burn, a double mountain IRA, a well whisky, and a beer back at chopsticks,before I came here (driven by sober gf) and ordered one round and was asked about keeping it open or closing it out. I said keep open, it got closed out. About 20 min/several karaoke performances by others later, I got the attention of other bartender and asked for a round, she said nothing about cutting me off. When the younger newer guy came back by, he said he had cut me off and I expressed disdain at how he had t told me that 20-30 min ago. He commented on my bloodshot eyes and said it was obvious we had been drinking before we came in. Yes, that is a frequent thing in Portland, especially coming in to a place on Glisan and 122nd in a strip mall. Also, my gf has been sober for a year and 7 months so the "we" was a bit off-putting- and finally, I generally work between 50-58 hours a week and tend to not take out my contacts. Not that he would know that but I was not exhibiting any behavior that I know of that betrayed intoxication, he wasn't upfront when closing me out (I thought it was an accident because the senior bartender was on his ass every few min regarding transactions in the register), and the other bartender acted as if she was about to get another round when I asked. I would like to come here after a 58-hour workweek laden with the residue of sandblasting and coolant, sweat, manual labor and cleanup, but it seems having red eyes working 5 ten hour shifts from 4am to 2:30 pm and a Saturday from 4-12:30 precludes me from doing so

The owner and staff here is awesome. come for drinks and stay for kareoke!!! Clyde Lewis from Ground Zero makes appearances here as well. He broadcasts a show "Ground Zero Lounge" from here once a month!Tell them the Spice man sent ya!!!

This review is mainly for their Karaoke.Karaoke w/Ham it up services. a 5.0 star KJ and she had an excellent singing voice. They did a fair rotation and even had a screen display to see what singer was up next.They did a good job balancing sound.A good number of talented singers could be heard the night we visited. Karaoke is Wednesday-Saturday. Karaoke night had about 20 singersso we had to wait over an hour to sing a second track. As for the rest of the Bar- 3.25Located in a strip mall beside the bottle drop behind the Walgreens. This bar was OK but not really my scene. I think this use to be an Asian restaurant and they changed it!?!Paradise is clean, friendly, spacious, with lots of pool tables, and dance area.They had fishtanks, lottery machines, and various other games. Crowd was manly age 35+ a bit loud and slightly rowdy. I saw a few people talking to themselves.The Fashion-Embroidered sweatshirts and Good ol American rustler jeans and American flag T-shirt type bar.The pours were on the weak side.So my advice would be to stick to the beer, wine, and shots.They looked like they did serve various bar foods and munchies.We didn't order any food so I can't comment. The bar is much bigger than it looks from the outside.We might stop back again sometime if we are in the areaand are meeting up with friends. Not necessarily some place I would put on our regular rotation.

nice unassuming bar in a strip mall in NE Portland, in the Walgreen's strip mall. I wanted to stop here after golf. I have never been - and I'm big on trying out a new bar - just because.The woman bartending was Chelle. She was sassy and funny, very welcoming to new people. My brother and Dad joined me after a few min. We chuckled at how it was so dark in the bar, then super blinding when someone opened the door to come in.It is a dark bar, pretty large, square shaped. They have two aquariums. One was massive, with a sofa in front of it. I spotted eight different tropical fish. Looks like they host karaoke, maybe a band on occasion. Boring tap beer, average bottle beer selection. Fun stop. Prices okay, not super cheap.

This was my neighborhood bar but I was 86 for my association with someone who made a mess and didn't clean up behind there self. I never had a problem with anyone and even though I'm kicked out I still have love for the staff and customers. Hopefully they see this and reconsider but until then WE Boycott until Coffee is available to come back!!!

Honestly, the bar itself isn't so bad. It's the "property manager". My boyfriend brother and I we're on our way grocery shopping and wanted to stop at the bar to play some video poker. We had our little personal shopping cart with us, because well grocery shopping. My brother was the one who should be shopping cart and he had his backpack on. The ramp to go onto The sidewalk happen to be right in front of the garbage area. All of a sudden this blonde Karen named Nicole yelled at my brother saying " don't you go in there,"All because my brother had the cart and his backpack on. When I asked her if she was she claimed to be the property manager, but didn't know that the bar was closed. I'm not sure who she was but any bar that allows people like that to frequent it I don't want to go to.

I'm so sorry for this because I'm not one to complain BUT this "bartender" took 15 minutes to approach me as I sat in front of her waiting to order a drink. However her not so thrilling conversation with another patron was more important than her doing her job which would have made her better tips... ???? When finally approached to take my order she had a snarky remark about me not tipping enough for her approval so I ordered my whiskey, drank it, paid my tab with zero tip and got up and left to a way better watering hole. Her cute cheeks and braided hair was the only good thing about her.

Literally the worst service I've ever had at a bar. The two bar tenders were ignoring everyone. They kept walking back and forth doing absolutely nothing. When we did finally get to order the guy behind the bar told my friend to "speak the fuck up". I'll never go back.

Quite hole in the wall but its in a sketchy area... I have only had one issue and that was a guy tripping on something but he didn't bother anyone. Plus is free pool during happy hour.

Great little bar! The new owner is great. The bartenders are cool, the drinks are good and don't cost $9 a glass. Plus, karaoke is fun (either watching or participating). I appreciate that the pool tables are well maintained. Everyone should go here!
