A negative review for a small business is a really hard thing for me to commit to, but here we go.We've been going to Pad Kee Mao since they first opened years ago, and we've had some not great experiences in the last 3 years. On one occasion when the cart was supposed to be open, we made a takeout order online and after waiting an hour + for a ready text and calling with no answers, we drove the 15 minutes and found out they were closed, no sign as to why, just closed. A week later after not hearing anything back about our unfulfilled and paid for order we drove by, with our receipt printed showing what happened. We were told to call the owner. The owner was curt, didn't apologize, and just put the money back on our card, and that was that. To be honest with 1 exception we haven't ordered for a while until tonight. The flavor profiles were becoming more bland, with too much salt making up the difference, and it just didn't seem worth it to try again. About 3 months ago I grabbed some Tom Kha soup. The soup really hit the spot, and was a good serving size. However, this evening I ordered the Thai Basil stir fry with tofu for myself, and sweet and sour chicken for the kids. Both dishes came in to-go lunch type containers. Lots of rice on one side and a little bit of entree on the other. My food had maybe 8 small pieces of tofu, at best, and was so salty I couldn't taste anything else. My tongue is still smarting from over salt 1.5 hours later. The kid's sweet and sour chicken had what seemed to them to be a few pieces of chicken, and I have to agree. Also, I tried their sauce and it was a salty/sweet bomb. I hope this business can turn things around, but I'm not sure we'll be trying again to find out.

Food truck perched away in a nice little food truck village in Hillsdale. I ordered a couple things over the phone for lunch on a Monday and they were ready for pick-up 15 minutes later. We got the Pad Kee Mao with Tofu (made vegan, by omitting egg and fish sauce, and Garlic & Pepper with Tofu (a broccoli based mixed veggie dish); both were $10. Both were very tasty. The Pad Kee Mao had perfectly cooked flat rice noodles, a gently salty and lightly sweet sauce, with modest spice. The Garlic & Pepper had a nice portion of broccoli, along with carrot, cabbage and onion, as well as nicely cooked tofu, and served with white rice. Nothing fancy here, but very tasty and well-priced. Recommended.

Portland has a very good Thai food scene. I'm the strongest supporter of small local business. There were three Alder block Thai carts at $6 vs this $8 who produced solid meals. I've others in my reviews. I can easily produce better at home. This is a very sad one. Perhaps the students at Wilson do not have real Portland palate expectations? The red curry did have a good amount of vegetables. But the amount of flavoring in the coconut broth was inexplicably lacking. It had oil floating on the surface I have never seen at any Thai takeout. I had to add to my purchase at home with a full tablespoon of curry paste concentrate. Brown rice is not offered.Salad rolls were medium size. No daikon radish. The salad roll dipping sauce was the saddest I've had in Portland. Completely inexcusable. Coconut milk displaced the peanut butter and it was bland. All of this could easily be fixed. There is another block away sit-down carry-out Thai spot which gets it.

So glad we stopped at this little Thai food truck! The portions are huge and the food is absolutely delicious! The spicy fried rice was full of flavor and not too dry yet not too moist. The Thai iced tea was refreshing and sweet. My mom ordered the pad Thai which she enjoyed very much as well. We even had enough left over for a second meal!

I'm pretty sure this place has such high ratings because it's next to a high school and those kids don't know what great Thai food is lol. I got Pad Thai, it came with no peanut sauce. Apparently you have to pay extra for it but I was never told this. There was barely any meat and basically a plate of dry and flavorless noodles. Also got the chai tea boba...big mistake. Many bathroom trips followed from this place.

5 stars for taste, service, and affordability. This little food cart located nearby a local high school was super good! And the pricing just can't be beat. I always usually get the pineapple fried rice. Everything is so well seasoned here! Even the curry is delicious

it's a thai food cart, original!well, they do offer various options that aren't guaranteed to be everywhere such as crab or lobster pad thai.I felt like trying crab pad thai and some crab wontons. the crab pad thai was decent. it was priced at $8 and enough for a meal. It did not disappoint.the crab wontons ($3) while cheap aren't that great and barely have any crab flavor.

Awesome food, great people. You can't get food cooked any fresher. The flavors are off the charts. As a side not they are closed in Sunday and Monday. Hopefully yelp will update that.
