No longer the Icelandic kex hotel but still a really nice designed space to hand out have a good drink and some bites. Today my bite will be the Walla Walla Onion Burger: Revel Meat Co. beef patty, Walla Walla onion ring, and Walla Walla onion bacon jam, topped with Tillamook white cheddar, on a potato rollNormally I'm not a big fan of potato rolls but this bun was good and tasty not too sweet. If you like a burger is often decided upon first bite. Well I like the walla one. The first bite through the crispy onion, hitting the salad and ending In a juicy meat paddy is just so good!Perfect burger not too messy and just delicious. I could live with a bit more of that yummy bacon jam for sure.

Atmosphere: Nice, upscale feeling atmosphere with a very pleasing aesthetic. One of the best things about Pacific StandardFood: The mussels were pretty good and a good size. Fries were a huge portion and good, but we didn't even finish eating themPrice: Prices are pretty fair given the upscale vibeService: Terrible. Bartenders take forever. Took us almost 20 minutes to order and we were never once checked on. Even after asking for help it took a whileParking: Street parking. Not the easiest area to park in but you can find spots a few blocks away

Located inside the Kex Hotel ~ a living room, library feel for HH after work. Two sides of windows to bring in a lot of nice natural lighting. Fun selection of seating to chill at - leather couches, bench seating by the window, darker nooks for secluded study, bar top to chat with the servers.Menu ~ interesting small & large plates to nibble on. Great cocktail menu with a handful of local draft beer. You go to them, order at the bar top, pre-tip and they give you a number to bring you your drinks.Unique vibe that is enjoyable solo with a laptop or a chat with friends.

- bartenders were friendly and helpful with drink selection- restrooms available - they have a cute Photo Booth too!- quick busy on a Saturday evening1. Stone fruit sour (3.8/5)- I usually prefer drinks on the sweeter side but this was a little too sweet for me 2. Appetizers (5/5)- fries SO CRISPY AND PERFECTLY SALTED, the aioli sauce pairs so gooood with it- Brussels sprouts phenomenal, so much flavor and I love the nuts topped on it for the extra crunch- ceased salad was also so good, love the crispy toppings added as well - perhaps we were hungry because these appetizers are typically pretty basic but for some reason it all tasted so good- will definitely be back!!

This is a beautiful, and I do mean beautiful, space. I absolutely love the wrap-around bar with its glowing lamps. Despite being such a large, open space, there are interesting nooks and crannies to sit in. I recommend going on a little exploration before deciding on a place to sit.The brains behind the operation is famed barman Jeffrey Morgenthaler, known for the excellent former Pepe Le Moko and Clyde Common bars here in Portland (RIP) as well as his world-renowned cocktail book. All of this has me wanting to adore this place, but across several visits I haven't loved it. The cocktails are fine, but they haven't blown me away. For some reason I can't put my finger on, I prefer other cocktail bars.On my most recent visit, I was excited to finally try the Walla Walla French onion dip that has gotten some press, but it had changed to a spring onion dip which did not hit for me. It had an odd lemony flavor and the chips were too well done, to the point of nearly burnt. Our drinks were fine but maybe not worth the tab.I also didn't love that the head bartender (whose nickname is a musical instrument) continuously hit on my date all night. It was initially amusing and we made a joke of it, but it continued on into annoyance-levels. Overall the neighborhood is better off for having Pacific Standard, and I wouldn't say no to checking out their rooftop bar once it opens this summer, but personally I don't know if I'll be rushing back.

I mean holy s***. If I could give this place a higher rating I would. The clam chowder was so the star of the show. The salmon in it added such a beautiful smokey flavor. The hot sauce deviled eggs were delicious as well. Did not get a picture of the Brussel sprouts but those were yummy too. The music was groovy and inviting, and Nick was an awesome bartender/server. I will definitely be making this my go-to spot.

Atmosphere should be its middle name. (Side point: playlist could not be beat. It should be published on Spotify under the bar name.) Left after happy hour...but came down later with a book -- because the music was that good. The cocktails were v. good. Whiskey sour turned out amazingly refreshing and delicious, and so well-balanced. It was an honest "Wow." Though they couldn't source the fresh oysters because of the weather -- there was an ice storm at play -- they did have mussels and clams that were delicious with the fresh chopped garlic and herbs. The broth was tart and savory in all the right ways: simply wonderful to the last drop.Fries were an extremely pleasant and generous portion. Hope they keep it that way. I was able to share with some new friends at the bar.The Dungeness crab toast was well-loaded with crab meat, and liked the brioches bread...but salty for my taste.Really loved the portion and price and taste of the deviled eggs. The ambience is great. Chairs are super comfortable without feeling claustrophobic. You can sit almost anywhere and have your own introvert time as well as enjoy the extrovert vibe. Locals are very friendly and one can make friends readily. Kind of great community building space.Outstanding bartender.

I've heard so much about this place that I've been wanting to try it and made a point to cross the bridge today and try it out. And I'm so glad I did!I really love the space here. The lighting is very warm. Love the lamp on the floor! And there's plenty of space to spread out and plenty of comfy chairs and sofas to relax in. And the bar is also very spacious, round, and elegant. I really enjoyed the Terra Firma. It is light, slightly sweet, and delicious. Service was very kind and attentive. I'm looking forward to coming back and spending more time here.

If you like me were a fan of Clyde Common you need to get to Pacific Standard ASAP ! The bar is located inside the Kex Hotel lobby and it certainly has that hotel bar vibe - busy , sophisticated yet relaxed and fun . The ambience is very charming with dimly lit lights , warm and woody interiors and an obnoxiously big wall covered in books . The seating is versatile with booths , table tops and couches . The menu is not very long winded but it kicks ass when it comes to drinks both boozy and Non alcoholic . we got the Terra Firma , Flannel shirt , Our World Famous Eggnog and the House old fashioned twice. The drinks were extremely well-made and had every ingredient shine through .I would highly recommend the Old fashioned if you are a fan of the cocktail in general .The food menu is limited but offers classic bar food all inspired by the West Coast favorites -Oysters, artichokes, Dungeness crab and fresh vegetables. We got the sourdough with Butter , Artichoke dip and chips and Drive thru Burger . Even though none of these were our original choices (they had run out of a every menu item we initially wanted ) the food seemed good . I am so glad we got the burger instead though because It hit the spot and wasn't too heavy of a meal . The fries were extremely crispy and were a great accompaniment to the burger. Pricing seemed reasonable and the service was fast . Definitely a bar I would return to .

I have been coming here since this place opened, but the GM is too high and mighty- we are all sick of the attitude- it's ridic and everyone at the bar was talking about the rudeness that oozed... it's constant.
