Paadee

I never had such a salty, flavorful pork broth with my egg noodles. The crunchy and luscious taste of the pork really went well with the thick carbs of the noodles. There was the right tang of sourness for the flavor. Our server was such a sweet person. This place left me my first positive memory of Portland, Oregon.I also appreciate that Paadee has outdoor seating and open doors for indoor ventilation. We felt snug in the outdoor seating box. In a time where we're still in a Covid-19 pandemic this fall 2024, I appreciate the extra safety against a disabling disease.

Service here is terrible, would definitely not recommend for take out. We have an online order with 4 dishes. It took forever to be ready after 20 mins. after driving half an hour home, we saw that they forgot a whole pad Thai dish and wings on the order. We called them to try to resolve the issue since there was no way we could go back now. After asking the employee on the phone, he was like as very unhelpful and no sympathy. We had to argue with the employee to get a refund and right when he said he would give a refund, he hung up and ignored our calls when we tried to get back in touch. We had to call from a different number and finally got through to them so they were obviously ignoring our calls.Would NOT recommend this place for their terrible service alone.

I don't think we will come back. We went on a Saturday night around 6-6:30PM. We were sat outside and it took 15 minutes for the waiter to greet us, the waiter was pleasant. We placed an order for two drinks, an appetizer and our two entrees all at the same time given how long it took the server to greet us. The appetizer came out very promptly and was extremely delicious! From there the entrees followed pretty quickly, but unfortunately we still hadn't received our drinks. Our drinks arrived 30 minutes into our service before we got our drinks. What did we order?Tempura Asparagus Salad Pad Se Ew (good flavors, but overcooked) Pork Belly Fried Rice (lacked flavor and rice was dry) Somebody I Yuzu Know 12 Something

Food was 5 stars, service was about 3.5, although the appetizers came out in a lightening speed. Our serve was nice but seemed a bit overwhelmed and agitated in the beginning probably because they were so busy. We ordered the tamarind wings and chive cakes for appetizers and they came out within 5 minutes so very impressive on that. The wings were an umami explosion in the mouth so we had to order another one! The ambiance was very casual and quite loud so I had to speak pretty loudly to order our food. Every dish was tasty and packed with flavor but I particularly liked the steak salad and crab fried rice. I crab fried rice was very, very fragrant not like anywhere else I've had it before. The steak salad had a good combo of sweet, spicy, savory and umami flavor from the fish sauce. The papaya salad was ok, but I've had better. Eggplant was pretty average as well. The pork jowl was very tender and the dipping sauce was delicious.There are a couple of things to be aware of though. Once you sit down, you only have your table for 90 mins and it's street parking only so very busy on the weekends. It looks like they have a kids menu for lunch only so I want to come back again to see how those are since I have a 4.5 year old.

legit thai spot! i love the papaya salad but i wish we ordered the one that has more "smelly" - i can imagine it'd taste so bomb. love the spiciness for sure!!! the other dishes we tried were decent and it really makes a huge difference when there's no sales tax bc i think it makes it more tasty lol lol. i wouldn't mind returning to this place if i visited portland again!

I haven't been into dine so I can't leave a full review, I do order delivery from Paadee at least once a month though and it is always so consistent & so good! I only really order one item as it's very filling when served with rice, gai grop sam yan - crispy fish sauce chicken chunks is basically what it is. It's served with rice and green onions, the recently allowed the option to add green beans and with the green bean addition it's a well rounded meal.I do on occasion order the mango and sticky rice or another dessert to go with my dinner, but for the most part the chicken is a must. Im not ashamed to admit I've ordered this two days in a row

I love Paadee. I've never had a bad meal or experience here. It's a great go to if you're going to see a movie at laurelhurst or just want some tasty quick Thai food in the area. Their drink menu is lovely. Service is always very friendly and helpful. Inside is lovely and they have outdoor seating most of the year as well. I typically get a noodle dish (pad see ew, pad Thai, Khao soi, etc) but I've tried several of their appetizers (papaya salad, chicken wings, laab, satay) as well. Everything is on point and you can get spice level to taste. I've never waited more than 15 minutes either.

Highly recommended place so I decided to stop by for dinner! I loved my drink "Ken Lee". I would recommend if you like sweet drinks & a lychee lover. We got the wings, both flavors to try, and I personally liked the tamarind glaze over the dry spice rub! Lastly I got the prawn pad see ew which was good, but it wasn't anything special. My boyfriend got the chicken pad thai which he said was too peanut-y for him because it lacked other flavors.

Enjoyed the service and ambience, however the food was lacking. Wings were good and so was the crispy pork belly. Everything else left more to be desired. I was excited to see crispy rice salad on the menu, but it was more mushy than crispy. Fried rice was also a bit mushy and felt more like rice and scrambled eggs.

My family and I drove 45 minutes to get this place. My in laws are Thai and was craving good Thai food. After seeing the reviews on yelp, we had high hopes. After picking up the food and driving back home, we realized half our order is missing. We called back about the missing order where an employee rudely hung up. After getting ignored multiple times, we had to have someone else call back, where the same persons picked back up. Putting rude service aside, the food was disappointing. Paid for $17 for 5 pieces of small meat and flavorless pad Thai, a dish hard to mess up. Trying my best to not let the service get in the way of the food, but definitely spoiled my family's appetite
