Such a lively places to grab dinner at even on a Tuesday night! When I walked in the main restaurant was packed but there's a large, beautiful covered patio towards the back as well (though I'd still recommend making a reservation). The first 6 items on the menu were small appetizers and the rest were larger meals. My group of 3 people shared 7 items together, family style, and honestly we could've gotten another item too because the plates were not too big! The quality was definitely there though - my favorites were the corn fritters (perfectly fried and I loved the peanut sauce), spicy chilled noodles (on my picture you don't see the delicious and saucy noodles underneath), and and charcoal grilled chicken (so juicy!).

Parking in the area is pretty difficult, but the host was very understanding when I was a little late to my reservation time. My friend and I were seated in the back patio which was very well insulated and it also had moody vibe because of the color changing light. Our waitress was very attentive. She would refill our waters as she was checking in on us. Food! Everything tasted like it was a mix of 5 spice and south Asian flavors. Loved: peanut sauce, the chewiness of the noodles, tenderness of the char siu, and the curry seasoning & fatty burnt ends of the fries.

Another group of visitors wowed by a trip to Oma's. She can really rack 'em up. Great choice in a pinch for midweek work dinners.Personally, I stay away these days unless I'm expensing it. I'm less moved by the dishes in rotation, and the prices are a bit outrageous.

I came here one evening with a group of my girl friends and had an amazing time with them. Unfortunately, there wasn't any seats inside of the restaurant, so we dined outside. Their outside seating is still cozy and it was a pleasant dining experience. We ordered a variety of dishes, and they were all delicious. We had the roti canai w/ curry to start, then we had the mee goreng w/ pork belly, shrimp sambal, and charred napa cabbage for our mains to share. Everything was phenomenal. The food portions were reasonable and the seasoning was absolutely to-die-for. The perfect blend between rich and creamy without being overwhelming. The only thing that I didn't appreciate as much was that I felt that our table's waitress was a bit rude(?). When we were ordering our drinks, she was a bit dismissive and patronizing, as if we were too young to be ordering drinks. Furthermore, I noticed how she rarely checked in on us, compared to the tables around us, and we would have to ask another waiter for help if we needed anything / our check. Overall, the food was delicious but service was a bit disappointing.

Oma's was a win all the way and one of the most unique meals I have had in a while. The menu is super cool, influenced by hawker food of Singapore and Malaysia. Our waiter was awesome. He had a big personality and was so friendly that we felt like we were dining with one of our besties. I couldn't get enough of everything we ate but my favorite was the Salted Egg Yolk Curry Fries. These were insane. They were like In n Out fries on steroids. Be sure to get the char siu burnt ends with it.The Roti Canai was the yummiest, softest, warmest flatbread with a nice slightly salty flavor profile. The parsnip and squash curry to dip it in just warmed our bellies. We also loved the Sambal Terasi Udang and Wonton Mee. The dishes on the menu are all so different that you'll want to try everything, and you should!

Thank you Oma's Hideaway for coming to the rescue on the eve of 1-13 during the snowstorm that shut down PDX for the weekend. Luckily we braved the elements and got a two-top for dinner at Oma's.We enjoyed slushie shots (DO NOT SKIP THIS), the spicy katong laksa ($22), fall raita salad ($15), a wonton mee ($26), and oma's corn fritters ($12). The portions were small and everything was yum, but the vibes (music) and service (soooo friendly) definitely made the experience. We would love to return and try lunch or brunch.

So mad that I walked by dozens of times and never stopped in ... until now. So good! Everything! Corn fritters came out first and paired with the peanut sauce ... so yum! Pork belly added to the fries was clutch! Their Roti is the best and portland. We also got the burger and the Wonton Mee. The drinks were super yummy too and the waiter we had was awesome! I could have sat him down with us and just had a conversation he was so friendly! Love that they have so much extra seating out back too!

Had dinner here on a pleasant weekday evening out back among the disco balls.Food here was A+++. Had the corn, roti (accompanying curry = amazing!), char siu pork platter (pork two ways!), coconut rice, and cold noodles (advertised as spicy but pretty mid on that front actually, but was quite delicious with its marinated shrooms and kimchi zukes). Plus a mai tai slushy and custom-order arnie palmer.Service was uneven. Waiter themself was great and escorted us around the menu w/ a lot of helpful information, but the kitchen must've been having some issues since we got the corn out quick and then the roti v hot and fresh, and then sat around a long while without anything to eat.. Pork and noods came out, but we had to ask about the rice (which you think would be made by the gallon and ready on standby. I mean, not exactly at a place like this, but, it's rice, and I can't imagine they ran out.. ) Still, I would love to come back to this place again! It was a feast for the eyes and mouth.

We went to Oma's Hideaway as I was craving Malaysian food. The food is a Malaysian, Singaporean, Western Fusion. We ordered:Silk Purse cocktail: I really enjoyed the smoky mezcal flavors with the coconut milkRoti: The roti was great, fresh, very hot, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Salted Egg Yolk Curry Fries: Unique flavor. I really liked theseSpicy Katong Laksa: Not your traditional laska. The noodle were a little soggy but I still enjoyed the dish for the bold flavors.Cha Siu Pork Platter: The Chau Siu was sliced very thin and was very tender. The was my partners favorite.Ayam Goreng: Tasty, white sauce was a nice touch. But it was small ( only 1 piece of chicken thigh). Overall, a fun dinner. I would come back.

I had the pleasure of dining at Oma's Hideaway for my birthday dinner while visiting Portland. Everything from the staff, decor, food and service was impeccable. We had a situation with someone at our table and the entire staff was so kind, efficient and professional about it. They helped us resolve the problem and our food still came out perfectly timed. We had two chefs in our group and they could not stop raving about how incredible every single item we got was. I can not recommend Oma's Hideaway enough. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Portland!
