Oliver's Cafe

Great place! Loved the food, nice atmosphere, great service, big portions and reasonable prices. We had the cheeseburger, the chicken sandwich, Oliver's Omlette, and Meat Lovers Omlette. All was fresh, gourmet, and delicious. Definitely coming back here again. They serve breakfast items all day too. Easy parking right in front, no wait.

Looking to try breakfast spots in the area and found this. They open at 8am everyday which is awesome!Better yet, they have a shared parking lot! This place is right off of 205 and has great visibility from the street. A regular was waiting outside with us as we waited for it to open. We were quickly greeting and chose a spot for us to sit. Upon walking in, it looked really nice and upscale with the dark wood trim and dark table tops and seating. Tall ceilings also gave it an open feeling. I splurged and got the stuff french toast combo while my son got the kielbasa scramble. Both were really good. The stuffed french toast wasn't super sweet like you'd get at IHOP. If you're looking for that, you won't get it here. Service was pleasant. I'd say price was average for the area. Due to ease of access, plenty of parking and good food and service, I would dine here again.

We were visiting Portland and were staying a few blocks from here, so we decided to try it. This was a Wednesday morning around 10 am, so it wasn't busy at all. Everything was very quick, and the prices were reasonable, which we definitely appreciated! I ordered an omelet, and my husband ordered the breakfast burrito. My meal was ok, I feel like breakfast potatoes can make or break a plate, and the ones I had were just ok. The omelet was a very good size, and it was pretty good. The burrito was huge, my husband definitely could not finish it but he liked it. Service was very kind, and we were in and out pretty quickly. Most of the menu had a pretty good price, and I would definitely go back to try something else.

I was recommended this restaurant awhile back but hadn't had the chance to try it until recently and I have definitely missed out! I'm a big fan of breakfast food and thought the entrees were well worth it. Upon walk in, we were greeted and there is a sign to let you know to seat yourself and then they will serve you. We waited between 5-10min for others finish up and ended up at the bar because there were actually no other seats available and this was around 12pm on a Sunday. The employees are very friendly and attentive. It looks like a family owned business. I wouldn't say the restaurant looks like any new modern brunch restaurant but I find these types of restaurants to be the best hole in the walls. We ordered the kielbasa scramble with home fries and sourdough, and stuffed French toast with sausage and sunnyside eggs. Honestly the kielbasa was delicious! It looks so simple but there was so much flavor. The home fries weren't really seasoned but they were crispy and a little salt and pepper doesn't hurt. I still found them to be really delicious. The sourdough was surprisingly good because I am use to sourdough being more thinner and a little rougher but this one was soft, fluffy and they added butter. I could eat so many slices! I would say a 9/10 rating in my book. The stuffed French toast was good but I wish it was a little more crispy. You can never go wrong with eggs and the sausage was actually really good as well, as bland as it looks. A lot of flavor! I'd give this a 8/10. Portions for both entrees were a large and we cleaned our plates! Bang for your buck for sure. There is street parking right in front of the restaurant, but I'm not too sure about behind the building. Either way, the entrance is facing the street with a sign that says "cafe." Don't judge a book by the cover here. I'll definitely be back!

Was not impressed. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. It came with hash browns and I substituted egg whites for the eggs. English muffins and a couple of sausages that I added. The presentation and quantity were fantastic. I was really excited to dig in. I was disappointed in the actual taste of the food. The gravy was flavorless. The hash browns were not anything special. No spices. No onions or anything to give them a little taste. Quite pastry. The English muffin was chewy and the egg whites were undercooked. The grapefruit juice was delicious. I feel for what I got it was overpriced. The one person I saw out front was pretty absent. She had zero personality and seemed like she couldn't care less about being there. So all things considered I can't recommend this place.

Randomly looked for this place for a quick breakfast. And this turned out to be very nice. I only tried dishes with eggs (no ham, no bacon) - and breakfast items were very nice. Ambience is good too and service is quick.

This place needs more recognition! It is commonly missed because it is along the beginning of Foster. However, they serve one of the best french toast that I have ever had!!! It is so yummy and perfectly cooked. The combo plate is also a great way to have a mix of both savory and sweet in your brunch plate. The meat lovers skillet is pretty good as well. The portions are also very filling. I have been here plenty of times and I always order the same thing. Each time has never been a disappointment and satisfied my cravings. The facility was really clean and gave chill vibes. The servers are super nice and patient. The cooks are also very appreciated. Overall, an amazing cafe for food and vibes!!!

I've been going to Oliver's cafe since it opened because I just live a block away and I've always had a good experience until yesterday morning. I don't frequent Oliver's like I did in the past, but I dropped off my car at Lents Auto Body right across the street and decided to drop in. When I picked up my car at 10am, I mentioned my breakfast to someone at Lents Auto Body and they told me they had heard the same from others. I hope that things change because their food has always been good.My Meal:I was first shocked by the prices that have really risen. I ordered the chicken fried steak at $16.99. The chicken fried steak was dried out because its probably frozen, and the size shrank. The gravy was way to thick and got even thicker by the minute. It was a dark gravy instead of a lighter brownish color, and didn't taste a good as I remembered from the past. I asked for Sourdough toast and got plain. The scrambled eggs were good. The place was even a little packed which shows that I must have ordered the wrong breakfast item.I just hope that things get better, and maybe next time I go in I will go for lunch instead, because their burgers are usually really good, I hope!Kenny B.

I reviewed this place some time ago. It was not good. I recently returned and wow, what a difference. I believe it's a different owner from back then, sure is a different sense of customer service. Food was good., service was goodPrices about average for the food. Worth a try if you're near by.
