Great food, great drinks! Met a buddy here last night and wow, I was very impressed. Got some cauliflower, steak bites, shrimp and grits and some libations as well. Of course! The steak was excellent and more like a meal than a starter, and the shrimp and grits, so unexpectedly good. Service was good, these folks treat everyone equal and I like a local bar that makes regulars and passers by feel welcome and like family, both. Curb appeal is nice, for our area (I live close), outdoor smoking section is very clean. Inside is dark, cool and also, very clean! Love that. A not so hidden gem in Portland.

Got a drink with my brother on a Friday night. Did the All Thai'D up (Thai chili rum, pineapple, lime, coconut, basil and ginger) while he got a Harley Quinn (House Habanero vodka, passion fruit and lime) cocktail.I also did get the brisket Mac and cheese. Food and drinks were excellent.Bartender seemed to be the only one tending bar for a Friday night but was as attentive as possible. The bar seemed like it has something for everybody with pool tables, tvs, a music spot, slots, and a Photo Booth

Was excited to try O'Dear Bar based on the stellar reviews I've been reading for months so we selected this as our venue for a gathering of friends that had not gotten together in a year. There were 10 of us and even though we put several of the live edge tables together, it was challenging because of the non-uniform shape of the tables. Many of us couldn't even reach the table! But it's about the food. The day we were there, the oven wasn't working so we couldn't get the poppers or the bacon wrapped dates, two of the items we wanted to try. Many in our group opted for the pulled pork sliders and said they were very good. At just $6 each, they were filling, and those that ordered two, took one home. A friend said the fried chicken sandwich was tasty. I went with a bacon jam, blue cheese burger, medium. It arrived ice cold and had been cooked all the way through to well done. No juices to be found. I get that there was a large group and it was lunchtime so probably a reduced staff, but food should arrive hot, not luke warm, and definitely not cold. And if you are a person who orders a burger medium, there is no way you can eat it well done. The fries may have been good, I don't know, they were also cold. Very disappointing. There are lots of appetizers on the happy hour menu at a reduced price. I may come back during happy hour so I can get the poppers, bacon wrapped dates and the wings plus one of the fancy cocktails. Will wait until I'm in this part of town, maybe at Cascade Station, because I won't drive all the way out there just for this as a destination. If I go back, I'll update this review as everyone has an off day. Our waitress was great! She did her best to get us to stop talking so she could get everyone's orders. Was always filling water glasses. Cheerful, friendly, helpful. She never asked us to leave even though we stayed well past when we finished our lunch. Inside was done nice - stage area, bar, pool tables. Big parking lot out back.

O'dear me... butter my biscuits and call me a foodie! I never thought I'd find a restaurant this good in a part of town where even the pigeons look sketchy. I was feeling a little adventurous and played a game of roulette with Yelp to discover something new. At first glance, the bar looks like a hipsterfied strip club. Rocking a completely black interior with pops of vintage influence, the real star of the show is an impressive black & white mural that fills the entire rear of the dining room. I think I'm a fan! Let me start with the incredible server, Daniel. This guy was running around the bar the entire night, making sure everyone's needs were met. He was like a superhero wearing an apron instead of a cape. I was impressed by his ability to balance a tray of drinks on one hand while using the other to high-five customers. What a guy!But let's get to the real reason we're all here: the food. The pulled pork nachos were simply remarkable. They were so good, in fact, I may have to request them as my last meal if I'm ever on death row. The bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers were sensational, with just the right amount of spice that made my taste buds want to have a dance party... complete with disco lights and confetti! If you're looking for a good time in Parkrose (no judgment from me) O'Dear Bar is the place to be. Just don't be surprised if you find yourself ordering those pulled pork nachos every time you visit. Speaking of which... What did the dad tell his son when he offered him homemade nachos? "These are nacho best." All joking aside, do yourself a favor and check out O'Dear Bar - your taste buds AND your dad will thank you!

I picked this place off the internet as it was near a PDX hotel our friends were staying in for a late night snack. When we first walked in, we were a bit worried it was going to be a dive as there was very loud (what turns out being Russian) music playing, people smoking outside, pool tables, and a full dance floor of folks. We opted to stay though and so glad we did. The food was nothing short of what you would expect in a fine dining restaurant. The beet salad was beautiful. The chicken sandwich superb. The Mac & cheese? Amazing. It was a bit of a fever dream place with the Russian regalia and bar atmosphere, to be served such an amazing meal. It felt as though we were transported to another country at times. We will most definitely be back. Such a gem of a place.

Went on a very slow night. Service was terrible. Menu says wine choices are red, white, bubbly. That's it. So we asked what the brands were. Server knew one was cooks. Didn't know the other two kinds. My friend went to the bar to ask. White was 19 crimes but bartender had no idea what red was. Eventually the server came back and plopped a bottle of red on the table. It was Oregon wine so we said that's great- how much? He said he didn't know. Took awhile to come back and tell us. We got 2 bottles. Food was good or ok depending on who you asked around the table. I ordered vegan tacos and got pulled pork tacos. Had to wait til everyone else was halfway done before server came back and I could tell him the tacos were wrong. Once I finally got the right ones, they were very good - lots of flavor. In the end we got charged for 3 bottles of wine despite only having 2. Whole experience was rather disappointing considering we had lots of dining options and the one we chose was lacking. Could have been much better if the server had any interest in serving us.

It's a bar/pool hall/restaurant and while the decor is nothing fancy at all, the food is.... AMAZING! I had the Smokey Bacon Blue Cheese Burger and it was the best burger I have had in a LONG time! From first bite to last it was absolutely DELICIOUS! And a really good size as well! I upgraded the fries to the sweet potato fries and they were perfect! It came with an aïoli sauce, and they also brought me ranch and ketchup the aïoli was really good and I don't know what kind of ketchup or ranch they use but those were really good as well!My score: A+ really good food and filled my up!

I used to like this place, up until a recent experience I had there. I was there to watch a football game with a friend; I had opened a tab around 5:00 PM using my primary debit card, and here they hold your card until you close your tab. Around 9:00 PM I was getting ready to leave, while closing my tab the bartender was like "O Dear, I can't find your card. The other bartender who just left must have given it to someone else." Obviously I wasn't happy about this, but the bartender offered to erase my tab. Since there wasn't really anything else to be done at the time, I accepted this as a solution.A week later I'm checking my bank account; not only did they not 'clear my tab' they tacked on a gratuity! I reached out to O'Dear via their website, where they claim "they're listening!", and let them know about this situation, never received a response. As stated before, I used to like this place, but fairly safe to say I'll never go back here again after this BS. If you're reading this and looking to patronize, pay in CASH.

My husband and I were staying at a hotel close to the airport for one night. Wanted to find something close by. Wasn't quite sure of the place when we first got there. However, the waitress/bartender assured us that the food was good. We both ordered the burgers, and they were cooked perfectly. The bacon jam as an accompaniment was absolutely delicious. And the fries were cut so uniquely, I'm not sure quite how to describe them. But they also were very good, freshly made with the perfect crunch. Would definitely order the same thing again. Braelynn was great! Check the place out! P.S. The Manhattans were very good as well!
