New Cathay restaurant and lounge: The food here is truly excellent. They are accommodating with custom orders, and the quality remains consistent for both dine-in and takeout options. However, when it comes to the lounge, I must express my disappointment. On my birthday a few months ago, the experience was underwhelming. I was on my lunch break and I wanted to try out the New Cathay restaurant because it is right across the street from where I work. I called them to make an order to pick up. I ordered the Szechuan Beef in which their menu read: CHEF'S SPECIAL: Served w/Fried Wonton, Fried Rice and Spring Roll $10.50. I also ordered an egg roll. The only thing I received was a container of a very bland Szechuan Beef, egg roll and white rice (no fortune cookie). To top it all off I was overcharged by a very rude Asian woman.Not going there again

When we want to have a family take out meal this is usually our go to Chinese restaurant. We get a good amount of food, to be able to feed our big family, for a reasonable price. We generally order one of the family meals for 4 people and it feeds our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) and leaves us a little bit of left overs for us adults to take for lunch the next day. We love their BBQ pork and Mongolian beef most of all. All the food is great but those are our favorites. We always phone in our order ahead of time. The staff is friendly and usually has our food ready to go when we arrive for pick up. The food is always hot when we pick it up and smells so good. If you want a filling meal to-go that feels like a home made meal for your family, this is the place to go.

Normallynlive this place but see serious cutbacks in their food! Very disappointed The szechuan beef. Had about 5 pieces of beef in the entire carton! Filled with onions. Not happyThen let's go to the Cathy Special fried rice. Should have shrimp, ham, bbq pork bean sprouts and carrot. Well if I was now a HAM lover I would like this. They had 1 shrimp in the entire box. Loads of ham and scarcity of bbq pork loaded with carrots and peas now. Note to New Cathey. Don't cut back on the "goods" in the food. If you need to raise the price a bit. Fine. Otherwise call it something g else

They have come quite a way forward since my last review the food is just what you'd expect at an American Chinese diner. I love the version of egg flower soup they do it's quite unique from other I've had the added peas and beef really make it special! Happy Eating

DO NOT EAT HERE! My mother in law ordered from here last night and the food was delivered to her house, her boyfriend and her ate it for dinner around 7:45 pm and by 9 pm they both started feeling sick. For the rest of the night they threw up and shit their brains out. They ate the egg rolls, pork chow Maine, sesame chicken, egg foo young. She's at my house now as she watches my girls while I work and I'm calling my dad to come take over. She is so sick. Food poisoning for 50dollars! Stay away from here!

My favorite place to get Chinese food - have been twice with family members who live nearby and it is dependably tasty and fresh, with good, quick service and huge portions. Our tragic neighborhood options are either crappy bar/restaurant options, or high-end - nothing in-between. How I wish New Cathay were closer to us! It is a stand-out to me because the vegetables are all nice and crisp/fresh, right down to the egg foo yung, and the meats & seafood also. White-meat chicken in the subgum chicken, OMG. Like... I've been burned by so many Chinese restaurants delivering dark-meat chicken or microwaving rubbery old celery. But New Cathay is quality at a I-can-come-back-here-on-a-regular-basis price. I salute my parents for trying their local strip mall restaurant and introducing me to this gem. We are all fans of the fried shrimp especially.And there is a lounge next door, which sounds like a party.

Decided to give this place another chance. Bad move on my part. The food here is much too bland and tasteless. When ordering something as common as sweet and sour chicken one expects that there might actually be some sauce with it. I doesn't make a lot of sense to be cheap with something like that. The rice was dry and tasteless as well. One other complaint we had was that the restaurant was shut down, so dine-in had to take place in the lounge. At one o'clock in the afternoon the music was so loud and obnoxious that you couldn't hear the person across the table from you. I understand louder music at night when everyone is out drinking and having a good time, but at midday it is just too much. The bartender was pretty nice though. Crossing this joint off of my list
