Stopped in here on a Wednesday at 1pm after flying all morning. Wanted a quick lunch near my hotel in the Pearl District. Mother's Bistro & Bar didn't disappoint!!!!Waitress was attentive, let us know the specials and answered our questions with so much detail and recommended her personal favorites. I had the full order of biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. So much food! Could have easily had the half order and been more than enough. Mom had the half order of corned beef hash, loved that it was homemade. Egg was the perfect over easy. We ended up taking a slice key lime pie to go (forgot to get a picture). It's part of their seasonal menu. I need another slice immediately! Not overly tart or sweet. The homemade whipped cream hit the spot! Definitely need to be back to try dinner! Love that they have a daily specials as well. It's quaint and charming. I think it's connected to a hotel? Not 100% positive. They even have a small play kitchen for the kids to play while you wait! There's a full bar too, didn't try any of the drinks but they were jumping for a random Wednesday afternoon.

Just had brunch with friends for the first time in the new location. I'm not sure but it seems bigger? Mother's is popular for a reason (great food), but that also means its busy and for me that also means loud. I think there is seating in a few different areas in the new space, which might ameliorate the sound issue somewhat though. For me, I might like to come again with just one other person instead of a group as it felt like I was shouting. I got a half order of biscuits and gravy which was right sized and delicious. I appreciate that they have half order options on a few items for lighter eaters. My friend got a tofu scramble - I forgot to ask how it was, but I'm also impressed they even have a veg option. I know the server asked if they wanted it vegan, so that was an option. Way to go, Mother's! With so many great breakfast places in Portland, I have to give it to Mother's - there's a reason they've been around so long and continue to be so highly rated.

Came here on a Wednesday morning for brunch with the girls, party of 4. We walked-in around 10am and it wasn't too crowded, so we were seated right away. My order: lox platter with everything bagel, $19. Pros:- it's hard to mess up a lox bagel, and they didn't mess it up so that's good. It was delicious and I like that it comes in a disassembled manner so you can put as much of each ingredient as you want and eat it how you want (desconstructed vs. sandwich style). - Clean bathroom- Really cute ambiance inside, big space, no wait on a Wednesday morning during brunch time- Timely and nice service, efficient- Classic family friendly pop music playing in the background- Pretty big portions! most of my friends couldn't finish 100% of their meal- I would say reasonably priced brunch considering the vibes and Portland area.Cons:- it was nice and it did the job, but it didn't blow me away. So if the wait was more than 30 mins, I don't think I would stay and would probably find another option. Overall, a solid option if you're already in the area, but not really something to travel out of the way for, or wait more than 30 mins for. I appreciated the vibes and they didn't screw up the food.

This restaurant was really cute. I enjoyed the vibes decor and they had the Best customer service in Portland. I love the fact that they honor a mother in the community every month where they share a little bit about them. The food is homemade and you can tell it is also made with Love. I got the Pot Roast with mashed potatoes. I also had to get the cauliflower soup that was so creamy and flavorful. I highly recommend going & trying them out. You will not be disappointed

I thought it would be a hole in a wall type place which I like but this was kinda fancy looking inside with chandeliers. Service and food was amazing. Only thing I wish I could see was more poc on the wait staff. The food was great. I had the Mike's Scramble and it was amazing. Even the roasted potatoes were to die for. Usually I don't finish them when I go to a brunch place and they serve them. The homemade jam! That was fantastic! I want to try the Omelet Du Jour next time. My friend had it and they were not skimpy with the egg on it.

I doubt there is much I could say that the other 5000+ people haven't already, but I will try regardless. This was a really delightful breakfast regardless of how busy this place was on a Saturday morning. This might be obvious, but if you go to a really popular place at a really popular time, you will be waiting. Please don't hold their popularity against them.I'd like to start with the service. Kai was our waitress. Super attentive, fun and bubbly, and helped us with genuine recommendations. She was really on top of things. She even made my wife's Mocktail herself! We were both really into the decor. The colors were fabulous, the restaurant itself is massive, and we appreciated that there was decent room between tables. Even though it was really busy, it didn't feel like we were in everyone's conversations. The noise damping they do on the ceiling is very appreciated. Lastly, the menu seems to change each month with a different mother they highlight; it just adds another dimension we liked. It was about a 25-30 minute wait for us to be seated. So that we didn't get hangry, we kicked things off with the pecan cinnamon roll. There were a ton of yummy options for baked goods and this one hit really well for us.My wife got the biscuits and gravy, and the breakfast nachos. I got the salmon hash, and swapped out my toast with a sesame bagel. We both appreciated that they offered several dishes in full or half portions, so that we can try more things before tapping out.Biscuit and gravy were great. Not overly salted and the biscuit wasn't too dense. Just right. My salmon hash was a delight, and a unique play on a hash. It was probably 65% salmon, which was surprising; most seafood dishes I get at restaurants are fairly light on the protein, likely to keep cost down. Not the case at Mother's. The nachos were a another unique item. The cheese was baked on top, and covered the entire surface area. It was a little too cheesy, but I think that's what you would expect with this dish. My bagel was a bagel. We will 100% be back. On top of all the positives, it was also a really nice value when it came to the check. Also as a true fat ass, it was tough not to eat every single bite. I even bought a shirt!

Really awesome spot for brunch. We didn't have a reservation but didn't wait long for table inside for Sunday brunch. Our server was great, really attentive. Food was really good, big portions so definitely shareable. Lots of indoor and some outdoor seating.

We grabbed a 9am rez to beat the rush and really enjoyed our time. The best part was an indulgent meal profile, but they offered half portions. It was the perfect amount to leave satisfied! I had the salmon hash & my two friends had challah French toast and Greek frittata.Merch was cute too!

The wild salmon hash has was an unforgettable experience. If you're not sure about eating seafood for brunch then let me convince you to try this! It tastes better than it looks. The creamy potatoes mixed with the chunks of salmon, combined with your egg of style and toast was perfection! I can tell from the quality of the food that they really do make their stuff from scratch here. My friend and I also shared a Belgian waffle and it was definitely one of the best waffles I've ever had and the perfect portion size to share with two people! The syrup wasn't even necessary since the waffle itself was so delicious. The service was really friendly and we were checked in on very often (with multiple coffee refills!). Be sure to put a reservation in since this place is popular even earlier in the morning around 10ish. The place is huge inside and has a glam vibe to it but it still felt very home-y at the same time. I can't wait to come back!
