Across the street at our normal brunch spot, noticed Miss Delta for the first time. It was a little hit and a little more miss. Tried the spicy stack and the biscuits and gravy. While it was decent, there were some big chunks of sausage - normally great but the meat was bright pink on the inside. Told our server about this and he just looked at it and said "okay." Though that was an odd response. Expected a "sorry about that," or something to that effect. Subbed that out for the biscuits and mushroom gravy. It was lacking in flavor and body. When I paid the check and mentioned this, the server seemed surprised. Enjoyed the spicy stack and the coffee. Cute spot. Might try it for lunch but will definitely be sticking to the regular brunch spot.

I had high expectations for this place, because its always packed.My friend ordered the sweet stack, he enjoyed it. The fried chicken was well fried.I got the fried oysters and the a la carte of brisket, burnt ends, and a side of cheese grits. The oysters were good, the breading was good!But the bbq.. the brisket was extremely dry. I took 1 bite and it was dry and bland. The burnt ends were very dry and lean. I didnt have a good experience with their bbq.

While on vacation this was the first place we ate and I was left disappointed. I ordered the brisket, mac n cheese, and greens. I was served fried fish. The waiter allowed me to keep the fish and gave me the brisket as well. Everything I had lacked flavor and seasoning. The brisket tasted like smoke and that was it. My sweet tea was delicious and service was good. My fiancé enjoyed his shrimp and grits. Parking is scarce so you have to park in the housing tracks and walk down.

Very disappointed with the country fried steak and had higher expectations based on various reviews. Too much breading and steak was overcooked and dry. Gravy was not very flavorful, bland, and more was needed. Eggs are eggs so hard to mess that up and the potatoes had a sweet/savory seasoning. Should have followed our instincts seeing a line outside Gravy across the street and we were the only ones going in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Would have been a 1 star but the staff was nice.

This is my ideal bbq joint - dank, dingy and delicious. Counter service, nothin fancy about the place, reminds me of a pizza joint with the booths. Been a couple times, tried the Shrimp n Grits and a hot chicken po boy, overall really enjoyed both. I've had some juicier sandwiches than The Hot Chicken Po Boy but it was seasoned very well and I like the texture of the breading a lot, and it was a pretty thick slice of chicken. The bread was also good and held together well. You can also pay extra to upgrade to a better side. This was my first time trying shrimp n grits so can't compare it but I liked it, it was deeply savory, cheesy and peppery. My only complaint would be since it's such a hearty portion, the last 1/3 of it (which I had to take home) got a bit too salty and peppery towards the end so I think it is a dish best shared. But still 5 stars.

It was our first time there. We came when it wasn't too busy. We were quickly seated and the service was very friendly to us. I ordered their small jambalaya, with some collard greens and a lemonade, all three were delicious. I also liked their music.When I return to Portland, I'm coming back here for sure.

I went there with 3 people on a Monday afternoon and there was only one other couple there sitting at the bar, the server brought us water then disappeared for 20 minutes. When she emerged she closed out the people at the bar then disappeared again. On their way out we asked if we needed to order at the bar and they told us we should order at a different restaurant. We took their advice and left. Would not recommend. I've been there numerous times over the years and haven't ever experienced anything like that.

Only one waiter in whole place! Poor guy! No wine? Ribs and brisket came out cold. Sent meat back for a yummy microwave reheat. Cole slaw tasted off. Corn bread cold. Would NOT RECOMMEND!
