Adding to the chorus! Love this space in my neighborhood. Friendly, courteous, masking/ cautious staff. Worker owned. Tons of outside seating including heaters and covered when needed. Food portions are ample, I always have plenty left over. Drink selections are slim, usually just one or two beer and wine selections but they do have that if you want it! Don't over think it - just go!

I've been to Mirisata a few times. Usually with a group of people, and I wasn't sure what to order, and the food didn't really wow me.Fast forward to today. Curry and rice had been my comfort food in the past. Lately, I've been in the mood for salads. Mirisata did not have a salad. But, the woman at the counter was very helpful with helping me pick something out. I got the Black "pork" curry with a side of rice. It was so good! Really good flavor with a slight kick. Generous portion, I took half home. I got the mango iced tea, which was good to bring the heat down a little. I liked the water cooler next to the counter. The weather was really nice, and many people sat in the outdoor dining area. I opted to sit indoors. It was really clean, and the chairs were padded, which I appreciated.

what i like most is that it's a worker cooperative which means the workers are the owners of the business too. i also love the patio area which has so much seating. they have indoor seating too. they serve very reasonably priced sri lankan food. i had the rice & curry which is for one super hungry person or two not that hungry people. it had lentils, rice, and various veggies. all flavorful but not too spicy. they serve alcohol too.it's a cute spot for a casual meal, and you'll know the profits are going directly to the workers!

Greatly flavored food. Their hot butter prawns are amazing! It's my favorite dish from here and I love the use of the spices and flavors and etc. The flavors are honestly on point and I like the inside of the restaurant and the outdoor seating. All is vegan and they mark which menu items have gluten in the menu - which is helpful! I like the concept of charging more to pay the workers more so therefore you don't have to tip. More of restaurants should do that. It's nice to know the people serving are getting a good living wage! The employees who takes orders at the front is always helpful too. Tip to people who visit: you're supposed to buss your own table ;)

This is such a unique place! Definitely the first time eating Shri Lankan food. It was all quite spicy so if you don't enjoy spicy food I would recommend asking them what's mild on the menu. My partner loved absolutely everything since he loves spice. It was almost too much for me but all the flavor combinations were really wonderful.

We didn't realise it's all vegan food haha. We read Sri Lankian and went for that. Only when we checked the menu we saw all is "fake" - meaning all is chikn or "pork" but when it is on your plate and in your mouth you will not taste it - or at least we don't care since it was very tasteful and we will come back for more. Also don't rust them when they say it's hot - take a slice level higher you normally would since it's giving you an extra kick. We also had the pineapple upside down cake with a real fruity pineapple lol. It was a perfect end for a meal. So don't be scared away when you see it's all vegetarians- you have been warned BUT also encouraged to go to Mirisata since it's good!

An interesting meal experience, three of us came here tonight for dinner. We took the family style plus the chik'n curry and the vade. Plenty enough for us, even a bit left over. Flavors were good, spice level was a bit high but tolerable. So why only three stars? This was our first visit and we are unfamiliar with their cuisine and vegan entries. When we were served, we asked the waitperson to identify the dishes. Rather than taking the time to explain them to us, they simply said that these were, "...everything that was included on the menu." Also - and this is only a personal thing - considering the importance of rice in a Sri Lankan diet, a bit more rice for a three-person meal would have been appreciated. While perhaps a lesser component of a rating, service is still important in creating an experience. In this case, our experience was somewhat diminished in attempting to recall the menu and identify what we were eating. Still, a positive experience overall though. $75 for the dinner plus extra and one beer and house ginger beer.

Yes. Yes, I may be a vegan part timer BUT after having some eats at this place... I'm thinking full time is around the corner. Stopped by this neighborhood gem while visiting Portland and was not disappointed at all.First time having Sri Lankan food and definitely will not be my last. Environment: walk up counter where you place your order. You have a choice of dining indoors or outdoors. Super friendly service and server recommended their top go to's. Top tier, I say.

We had a disappointing experience overall. After waiting far too long for our food, it was served cold when it finally arrived. The portions were also on the smaller side, which felt a bit stingy given the price. While the taste was decent, the high cost didn't justify the overall experience. Unfortunately, we're unlikely to return.
