I've had Mio Sushi on my list for quite some time, and I was excited to finally give it a try! The ambiance was charming, and I found the prices to be reasonable. Their menu offered a wide variety of options that I hadn't tried before. We decided to try various items from different parts of the menu. The Tempura Udon noodle dish was a personal favorite with its generous portion of noodles, flavorful broth, and delicious side of shrimp tempura. The rolls were also delightful, especially spicy tuna ones. Sushi rolls came highly recommended, and we were intrigued by the Dragon Mango roll, which included sliced mango. Additionally, we tried classic salmon nigiri and yellowtail nigiri.Overall, it was a very interesting dining experience and. I'd love to return and try more dishes!

My mother and I ordered pick up from here. I ordered teriyaki chicken and when it came it had no sauce. Literally, it wasn't even marinated- just straight up grilled chicken. When I called the server said there was nothing they could do. When I asked for their manager, there response was " we will give you edamame or a miso soup- something bigger than teriyaki sauce." I don't think edamame or miso soup make up for a $17 meal.Obviously we will not return and get that generous reimbursement. Order at your own risk. Order at your own risk.

The cucumber salad just tastes like lemon water, the mango iced tea was oky but I don't think I would get it again as it was 5 dollars, I did like the sushi combo we got though. The service at my location was very like on you because not a lot of people were eating in. But the place was very nice. I would definitely come back & eat here again.

Impressively bad. Truly the worst sushi I've had in Portland. The rice was somehow both gummy and crunchy. The roll was poorly constructed, and contained only the thinnest slice of salmon and yellowtail, and was about half the size expected. I've had better sushi rolls from a dodgy vending machine. The service was friendly but not knowledgeable. The portion size is good if you're on a diet, but not in line with the price. The price and quality are not in line with how long it took to get the food. Avoid this place. We're not going back.

Visit for the convenience...stay for the food...come back for the hospitality. Mio Sushi is located in a very busy section of Sellwood, but should not be ignored. It's a very friendly and under-the-radar local sushi establishment that is worthy of consideration. This place is by no means fancy, but gets the job done with delicious varieties of rolls and lunch/dinner dining options.I had the opportunity to visit Mio last week after my wife and I tried out another sushi restaurant on 17th Street (that starts with the letter "Z _ _ _"). Suffice it to say that while Mio does not have the same ambience or full bar as "Z_ _ _ _", its food is by far much better and less expensive.Add to the above factor that the owner, hosts and employees behind the counter are just genuinely welcoming and nice folks, what's not to like? Just as the title of my review says, "Visit for the convenience...stay for the food...come back for the hospitality." Highly recommend!
