Am I outta my mind? Red flags set off when I noticed that it was inside a dingy supermarket but I ignored them because we were desperate. The banh mi sandwiches were left in the open. There were about 3 dat biet, 1 pork ones, it looked pretty empty and there's no label as to when it was made....God knows how long they've been out there. The expiration date is in seven days? Are you freaking kidding me? I wouldn't dare eat it because it might send me to the hospital. So, I gave it to my SO and kid. Well, they wanted sandwiches. I got summer rolls at the restaurant next door. I asked them how it was. They said it was a 2/5. They said the bread was old. S.O said with 22 reviews, the rating may not be reliable. So I'm adding my honest opinion.

I came here because I saw pandan waffles, 3 for $5! This place is actually inside of Hong Phat, the supermarket. There's a lot of premade meals, and I picked up fresh shrimp and tofu rolls (they also had shrimp & pork and just pork) as well as rolls with a medley of stuff inside of them (banh trang cuon). Although cold, the waffles were super chewy and had plenty of pandan flavor; I'm really impressed! Definitely recommend, and throw them into the toaster oven for even more deliciousness. The fresh rolls were really fresh although the banh trang cuon was a bit dry. Prices are okay, the two shrimp & tofu rolls along with peanut sauce were $5.5 and the other ones were the same price.

My usual stop to the super market after visiting my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, @Portland. We will stop here with my daughter so she can grab her Asian groceries. I noticed this space as you enter Hung Phat Supermarket, it is now Lotus Kitchen, I also noticed the business sign and menu board. I was surprised to see tons of varieties of packaged Vietnamese food and deli items, desserts and drinks. Lotus Kitchen has pork buns, deep fried pork buns, steamed pork, roasted meats, banh mi, fresh flavored waffles and so much more. I want to move to Portland just so I can shop here, I would stop here every week to fill up on my Vietnamese faves. Everything looked good but I was so stuffed from lunch, I ended up just looking around and getting snacks and desserts for our drive out to Woodburn. I've never tried a fried pork bun before so I got that for our snack and I missed eating Pandan waffles and didn't know Durian was available, the cashier was nice to let me mix 2 flavors, a box of 3 waffles for 5.00, I loved that price! Lotus Kitchen was super busy during my visit, this area of the store was packed, I can see why. We enjoyed the fried pork buns, something new and different. Out of both waffles, I enjoyed pandan more as I am not a fan of durian. Def. a must stop for me the next time I visit and I want to plan it better so I can bring some extra goods back home to Honolulu with me.#41/2019

Lotus kitchen is a caterer that makes Vietnamese ready to go goodies available in Hong Phat Food supermarket. Got Viet banh cuon( rice cake filled ground pork) and it was good. I refrigerated it and didn't eat it right away. I'm sure it would have been great eaten the day bought. Nevertheless still good. The filing is a little bland which is why fish sauce accompanies it. They make many more goodies which I'm going to buy today before heading home to Maine. Prices are great and so affordable for ready made food. Banh cuon was $5.95 for a container that can serve up to 3 people wow what a deal!

Love the pandan waffles here! Although the location makes it seem like just a regular deli in a supermarket, the place is it's own little grab and go. Would definitely recommend grabbing a banh mi and some salad rolls from here. I haven't really tried the drinks here yet, but the food is great and competitively priced compared to others in the area.

Fantastic and convenient! Though Hong Phat is not my nearest Asian grocery store, I go out of my way to shop here in order to pick up some goodies from Lotus Kitchen. In addition to the standard pre-prepared items and meals that you would find at many Vietnamese delis, the menu production team is always experimenting and introducing new food and snacks to the menu.
