What a treat! We went here for a date night. While I had noted that I am a vegetarian in the reservation note, I wasn't expecting much since this was a last minute reservation. They had a pescatarian tasting menu. Chef was so gracious and plated the protein separately for me to enjoy the full experience. We had a good conversation. The menu was very very creative. Romanos beans and flan were my favorites! Drinks were very good, nice selection of wine and creative cocktails. Service was friendly and attentive. Vibe was upscale but not snooty at all, just what you want for a special night. Thank you for a great experience, we will be back!

Oiy ok - I rarely leave bad reviews. I can see the good in most things. Lilia Comedor was nothing short of a disappointment with the exception of the company I was with and the bartender. A few flavors were good. But the website does a wonderful job of marketing the beauty of the food to arrive and leave feeling disappointed. The ambiance was fine. Small. What could be a really lovely experience just fell a bit flat. We got the chefs counter experience - where the description said it was a tasting menu experience delivered by Chef Juan. Chef didn't acknowledge us once. He was delivering the food and explaining dishes to the people sitting at the chefs counter right next to us. But zero interaction with him our entire meal. The food: six courses - two of which were sweet courses. Off balanced to only have six and 2/3 are sweet. Also, I'd expect a chefs tasting to be individually plated per guest; they served us family style which was just something I didn't enjoy for advertising as a chefs tasting. 1. Spot prawns and beets. There was something horribly off balance with this dish. Overly peppery, and left an almost numbing taste in my mouth. 2. Fried green tomatoes. Fried in burnt oil, sliced too thin, and a proportion to feed a family of four. Soggy. 3. Wild mushrooms. The cook in the mushrooms was perfection. And the masa flatbread it's served on was good. That's where the compliments stop. The tinga was waaaay too overpowering and took away from the earthiness of the mushrooms and other more subtle elements of the dish.4. Short rib. Was 80% fat chunks. We got barely any meat. Flavor was decent of what we could eat. The harissa salsa was delicious. 5. Carrot dulce marshmallow cake. The best thing we were served but yet again, a proportion size SO big for a six course tasting. The cake was way too dense but the crispy carrots on top create a nice balance to the sweetness. The dessert wine pairing also worked well. (Note: we did the $66 wine pairing add on... you basically paid $66 for maaaaybe 8-9 oz of wine in total. And the wine pairings were horrible outside of the one I just mentioned. And the timing of service was off - often times we'd be served our dish but just waiting for our wine pairings to be poured)6. Dark chocolate quince. This was something. Not sure how to describe it. The chocolate glob of soup had some horrible aftertaste. This dish just didn't make sense to me. Will I got back? Maaaaaybe to try something a la carte, but definitely would not do the chefs counter again. $99 each for the tasting plus $66 each for the wine pairings. We each got a full glass of wine and my friend got one cocktail. Total was $400 with the automatic 21% service charge. (Our serve hung around after our card ran which felt very awkward as if he was waiting to see if we'd add on an additional tip). (Not complaining about the price here - just informing for those interested)

I was really excited to check this place out, and I want to preface that the food is REALLY good. Like, some of the best "fancy" Mexican food I've had (I'm a food truck kind of gal when it comes to more authentic Latin American food). But there were some issues, and for the price point, the food being really delicious just isn't enough. Service - it was a miss. We had like 3 different servers all sort of jumping in at different times, and none of them seemed to communicate with one another so it was an awkward, impersonal mess. I asked for drink recommendations and was basically told none of them are bad (ok...?) Drinks took a long time to come out, were wrong, taken away because they were wrong, and then the correct drinks still took a while to come out. On top of that, I am gluten free (celiac). It's sort of gluten-free friendly naturally, but when we were there they fried crackers in the same fryer as other items, which was communicated after we ordered, so I couldn't eat everything we had ordered. They include a "service charge" which was like an automatic fee of I think 20%? - not 100% sure on that I can't remember exactly what it was but either way it's sort of confusing, because like, do you tip on top of that? We did a little, but it's not entirely clear what is expected of you, and that's uncomfortable. I also gotta say, probably don't come here unless it's a group of 2 people, maybe 3. There were 4 of us, and in order to have a full dinner, we had to order almost every single thing on the menu. I couldn't eat certain items, and we left just feeling sort of unsatisfied as far as the amount of food we received, and lack of selection. Look, I am alllll about seasonal menus, and think it's cool to have a small menu focused on what looks good that week. But, having 6 items on a menu that are more of a sharing small plate sort of deal, makes it annoying for a group much larger than 3 without ordering multiples of one thing, and who wants to do that? With all that in mind, the food was really good. We ordered almost everything on the menu because of our group size. We had some ceviche (bleh, not super great, shrimp were tough), some chilaquiles plate I couldn't eat, some sort of dish with melon in it, broccoli barbacoa, and a reallyyyyy good fish dish. Fish was everyone's favorite, chilaquiles dish was another favorite. It was like $400 with a round of drinks, and 2 people ordered another round. That's just insane for the issues encountered. I ended up grabbing a couple of birria tacos after because I was still a little hungry. Take away - food is lovely, but service needs to be better, or food needs to be cheaper. Servers having a rehearsed spiel about why the dish is special doesn't negate the lack of knowledge of the menu when questions are asked.

Wow. Just. Wow. Words cannot express the happiness my tastebuds felt! Chef Gomez is a magician. The flavors, the plating, the ambiance of this place. It was all incredible. Sitting at the chefs table is an unforgettable experience. We were actually served by the magician himself and the passion he has truly shines through his food. Menu changes weekly which is impressive in itself but definitely motivates me to come back again. Portions are great as well, probably the first prix fix menu where I left truly stuffed. Dont think about it, treat yourself and come here!

Amazing experience 12/10. PARKING: We parked across the street and paid.FOOD: Menu changes weekly so pictures now are really just an idea. Because there was only 2 people in my party, they gave us one dish at a time and explained the composition and ingredients. Perhaps they'll present multiple dishes of its a bigger party? Everything was tasty and rich in flavor; only comment is that the ice cream sandwich cookie was thick and therefore a bit hard.... Def had to hold it, you couldn't just use a spoon. For 2 people, we were comfortably full with 4 dishes (1 from small plates and dessert) and 2 from medium plates.SERVICE:They do have a 21% surcharge added to the bill but I will say it was fair. The staff checked on every table and when we finished a plate, it was left for no more than a couple minutes and someone grabbed it. They were checking on waters often too.NOTE:The restroom is out of the restaurant - you walk through a corridor and enter in a code to use the restroom. At least it's well-lit and clean.Overall, amazing, wonderful, excellent. A staff member mentioned República and De Noche are also same chef/owner/something so I would definitely want to try as well!

Had an amazing meal at the Chef's counter last night. Food was great - top notch quality and flavors really popped. Staff was so welcoming and it was fun to interact and watch the kitchen at work. Bartender is an artist he rocks! Menu changed weekly I'll def visit again. Recommend the wine paring with the set menu. Rode the tram after dinner and overall a memorable night.

We got a tasting menu and tried a ton of dishes but were still hungry after our expense tasting because we shared each dish. Full disclosure I've done plenty of tasting menus and never been hungry when I finished. If I did this tasting menu on my own I would have been full. The whole point of a tasting menu is to share though.. I digress The space is tiny, and in the winter don't bring layers here because there isn't a place to put them. We spilled water a few times because the tiny table was crowded and it just felt like a chaotic seating.Service was attentive and friendly, they gave us our favorite dish at the end of the dinning experience which I always love when they do that!Flavor was delicate yet complex. Bring your foodie friends here, it's sure to impress.

What a smart , honoring , beautiful way to portrait Mexican food! I know we all love tacos and burritos but it was about time to have this other kind of Mexican food. The mixed of local ingredients and knowledge of two cultures is beautiful and delicious.I chose the chefs experience where we got set items to test , you can choose this experience and sit at the bar so you know from the chef what everything is about. You choose the time to get there and you get a warning about not being more than 15 minutes late or they might cancel your reservation. We got there and had to wait about 15 minutes to get our sits , people were kind and we waited with a drink. We finally got in there and had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes to get the first course. I totally get it since everything's freshly made and there are more people having that experience (a $90 experience per person without drinks btw). We got a total of 5 courses , including 2 desserts, more than enough , we were stuffed! We waited around 20 min between every plate. Chef Sam was very nice and he fully explained everything, he's awesome! Please consider that a 21% of the total bill will be added to ensure everyone's way of living. Very nice of them for their staff! 4.5 stars out of 5 just because of the waiting time at the begging and between curses.

I'll start by Chef Juan is absolutely one of my favorite chefs, and is a god at what he makes. There's nothing at Lilia that is bad. Everything is going to be amazing, if you have like food and a decent pallet that is. The service is great, the place isn't too loud for being smaller.I recommend making reservations and HIGHLY making the seats for three chefs counter so you can see Chef Juan and the crew create! The menu changes often, so you'll just have to see what Chef has for you.

Food was just "ok", nothing special, despite their attempts to make you think you were getting something really special...not. Their $18 specialty cocktail tasted like an ashtray, and there was a loud, squawking patron who completely ruined any ambience. Restaurant needs better acoustics. Service was not great, in fact, lots of unnecessary "attitude" from most of staff. You have to have Michelin stars for that kind of attitude, and honestly, I've had better food from a taco truck. I'd go to Ox instead, food was much better, service is better as well as the overall vibe.
