One of the best sandwiches I've ever had, I can see why this is a Portland institution. I'm generally not a huge fan of sandwiches, but these are so well thought out and executed, it would be a crime not to come eat here.I got a pork meatball banh mi and it was excellent. Super soft ciabatta holding in spiced pork meatball patties with your traditional pickled vegetables, cilantro and jalepeno for kick. It's a perfectly balanced sandwich that is not too heavy but tingles all your taste buds. My wife got a korean pork shoulder sandwich, and the kimchi and chili mayo definitely pack some more heat, but very good if you got some spice tolerance. Cacio e pepe tots is one of the best potato products I've ever had and would highly recommend getting them. Eating them plain, hot and fresh is ideal, with or without the truffle mayo. It's that good. The truffle mayo is definitely good too, but wow those fried tots are super crisp and super flavorful already. True flavor bomb.Street parking is plentiful and staff and friendly. Get over here already.

There isn't much I can add about this place that hasn't been said already. The sandwiches are superb. When I'm not in Portland, I think about the Pho-rench (Pho-inspired french dip sandwich) a LOT, and I find myself checking their chef-wich (monthly special created by collaborating with a local chef), since it so hardly ever misses.Below is a bit outdated pic of when I had their fish sandwich chefwich, cheesesteak, and the Lardo fries (must-order). Amazingly friendly service, good selection on tap, and always a good vibe.

Order: Chef's OPBLT and Lardo Fry'sPros: Good enough that I will come back and try something else. The OPBLT was decent. However, there was so much on it that I didnt really taste the rib meat on it. Cons: I didnt like the frys. Something about the flavor didnt taste good to me.

I have been coming here regularly for about a year now. I just love it so much... the chefwich always draws me in at least once a month and tonight I popped by for the nacho week and slushie month offerings. Both were fantastic. It was very busy and the wait was a little longer but the staff was amazing as always and I really enjoyed my night out here. I've noticed it can be very loud inside so I think I need to take advantage of the big patio outside next time. Thanks again, y'all! See you soon.

Food- the sandwich and fries were really good. Hubs and I got 2 Bahn Mi sandwiches and a Dirty Fries to split and ended up with left overs, definitely could have split a sandwich and fries. The Bahn mi patties were delicious, so flavorful and juicy but I would still ask for a little extra sauce on the sandwich.The fries were also delicious, the lard pieces we didn't care much for but the herbs, cheese and peppers were amazing. I think they used to have bacon instead & it was better but that was like 8yrs ago lolThere's a water dispenser outside but the water is not cold. There are also boxes outside so you can box up your left overs which is convenient. The music is a bit loud though, especially when they play songs with an annoying pitch however, it's a delicious spot for lunch/dinner *the sandwich does have a little spice to it*

Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. Wonderful service. Casual and friendly space with wonderful open area with tables (for the COVID sensitive). Brought best friend from back East. Ordered the Crunchy Salad for starters and went with the Vietnamese Meatball sandwich and the Vietnamese Meatball on a bed of their glorious fries (with rosemary and cheese) to be gluten free. Worth the drive off the highway.

Lardo is that hearty and delicious sandwich shop with an inviting ambiance! I'm obsessed with the Korean pork kimchi sandwich and the Cubano. Both are full of flavor and very filling--I even had to take half home. We paired our sandwiches with parmesan fries, which were excellent. The service and location are great, within walking distance to many other spots. They offer both indoor and plenty of outdoor seating, which is a huge plus during warmer weather or busy times.

bahn mi and korean sandwiches the bahn mi tastes like a tofu bahn mi on different bread. great recipe and less messy than the original french baguette. the korean sandwich i do not recommend if you are not into strong smelling asian food. it does turn heads if you eat it elsewhere and the wrappers hold onto the smell. just an fyi. tots were overly peppered and not well tossed. take a look at them before you pop them in your mouth lol.
