The el jefe of the taco trucks in Portland located on SW 5th between SW Stark and Oak. This truck has been in business for over 15 years and is the best of the best.Located in a secure food cart pod in the heart of downtown Portland and has tall gates to keep panhandlers out. There are a variety of multicultural cuisines to be found here. But the tacos! You name it they have it. Even if it's not on the menu like my favorite, camarones (shrimp), they'll make it for you and it will be delicious. I always get flour tortillas and a Mexican Coke. Usually one taco will satisfy me.They give you a little beeper that will vibrate and light up when your order is ready. That gives you time to find a place to sit on the plentiful picnic table style seating. Most of which is shaded. This food cart pod is aces.2024 - Review # 21

I did not think a breakfast burrito was what I needed on a grey Sunday for lunch time, but stumbled upon this place when walking around midtown beer garden. I usually go to 2 other food carts in this same area, but I came here recently and wanted something different. This place caught my eye when I saw their menu for breakfast burritos. Because they got good reviews, I decided to give it a try.I got the potato burrito with chorizo ($10). Wait time wasn't too long, and you get a pager that will vibrate when your order is ready so you don't have to wait in the same spot.I was so blown away by this burrito because it came out piping hot, was generously filled, and tasted so good! I love that the flour tortilla was chewy and not dry.I will definitely come back. The only question is what to try next?

Third night of this work trip, and we were craving Mexican food. Ended up at La Jarochita due to their solid Yelp reviews. It was nice that they were located in this food truck park, so a few of my coworkers split off and grabbed stuff from the other trucks.I went with a tofu burrito. Price and wait time were reasonable. Burrito was delicious. Could've use some (or extra) seasoning on the tofu but it was still a great burrito that I would get in again.

As a taco truck owner from Las VegasThe jarochita 3 meat burrito was the BEST I've had in Portland. Asada, Pastor, and Pollo all well seasoned and fresh mixed together, and to top it off, we got complimentary tortilla chips ,pico de gallo, and 4 kids of salsas. It was raining, and I was hungry didnt have time to take a picture, but it is definitely highly recommended. They are OGs in the Taco game, have been in business 10+ years

Let me tell you something, my taste buds are still dancing from the deliciousness that is La Jarochita taco stand in Portland. I've eaten there so much, I think I might need a gym membership just for my jaw muscles.First off, let's talk about the guacamole green sauce. I don't know what kind of magic they're using to make it, but I'm pretty sure it's the elixir of life. My girlfriend literally drinks it like shots, and I don't blame her. It's the perfect combination of creamy, tangy, and spicy that just takes these tacos to another level. And let's not forget about the variety of meats. I always go for the carne asada and El pastor tacos, but even the chicken tacos are a hit. And let's be real, squeezing that lime wedge over your taco and then slathering it in that green sauce is what dreams are made of.Now, let's talk about the atmosphere. This food cart is located in a part of town that some might call "colorful" but I call "character-filled". You've got a mix of all kinds of people coming together for the love of these tacos. Junkies, yuppies, hipsters, cops, high schoolers, college students, and everything in between. And let's not forget about the brave souls risking it all for a taste of heaven, even if it means getting dive-bombed by pigeons. But honestly, it's worth it. The portions are generous, the service is always friendly, and the food is consistent. Even with inflation, you can still get four tacos for under $10, and if you're feeling extra hungry, go for the taco meal with rice and beans for only $10.So next time you're in downtown Portland, do yourself a favor and head over to La Jarochita taco stand on SW 5th and oak. Your taste buds will thank you, your wallet will thank you, and I'll thank you for taking my advice.

Few things-There was a great dj! We didn't know lyrics but definitely kept us entertained! We accidentally spilled our drink & it was replaced in minutes ...but.:: they failed to tell us they were prepping food that was originally ordered and catered...Which led us to waiting for our 2 orders of entrees for over an hour... granted, they told us, after waiting an hour and 10 minutes, the reason for delay... they comped us with free drinks...But after a night out and being here ag 2:27am without our food.... It leaves me with a bitter taste and questioning whether I will come here again .

Food was amazing. I asked for a skinny margarita, which isn't on their menu, and it's probably the best one I've ever had. Looking forward to returning! Tacos were amazing

These folks have it going ON. The service was fast and efficient despite the line, street craziness, and rain. My partner and I ordered a veg option and a chicken one and we were both very pleased with portions, price and flavor. Their flavors were on point and the prices were great. I loved my burrito with rice, beans a little salad. He had the same but with chicken and we both cleared our plates.

We found this truck in the food truck park at 340 SW 5th Ave, Portland, OR 97204. Both nights we were there we saw them doing good business and quickly preparing the orders (unlike some other trucks). I ordered a carne asada burrito for $10 and chips and salsa which were $4 (not included with the order like other places do). The burrito was made fresh quickly and was nice and hot when I received it. Everything was very tasty and I appreciated all of the included salsas and guacamole. The chips and salsa were a very good portion considering the price paid. Everything seemed very authentic and I would definitely come back here if I'm ever in Portland again!
