Best canh bún in Portland in my opinion. Clean and friendly. Great location and lots of parking.

I've ordered pho several times at Koi Gardens Vietnamese Cuisine, and have always enjoyed my meals. The service is swift and efficient, and I've never had to worry about finding a table. The restaurant has a large seating area which makes the space feel a bit empty. However, this bodes well for quick service. There are several nooks and corners when you can sit to enjoy more privacy. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant, but the business is located on a very busy street near the onramp to 1-205. It's a high traffic collision corridor, so do be careful when entering or exiting the parking lot. The pho is always served steaming hot, with noodles offering just the right amount of bite. There's nothing worse than soggy noodles! The herbs are fresh and the portions are more than adequate. The broth isn't as rich and complex as some of the more popular Vietnamese restaurants in Portland, but it has definitely soothed my pho cravings in the past.

A cute little place on Glisan. Plenty of parking in private lot out front. Inside is well-lit, clean and warm (key this time of year). Menu is easy to read and has pictures which I really appreciate especially with some of the lesser-known soups. Ordered some salad rolls and Pho with brisket and steak. Pretty routine order. But I can't say no to Pho. Reasonable prices and really quick service. Friendly and a take-your-time attitude. Broth is a little sweet for my taste, but noodles are nice and Al dente. Meat was generous and very tender. Two of us with a soda, two soups and the above-mentioned salad rolls for just about 40$. No complaints here, especially as my usual spot (will not mention here), is 55$+ for same order. Will try again soon. Check this place out if you find yourself in the Gateway area!

Outside ~ not much to look at besides the riffraff loitering next door. Posting in front is a must.Inside ~ noticeably clean interior & clean bathrooms. So much so we had to compliment the staff. The response was gratefulness and pride that they make a conscious effort to keep to restaurant fresh and clean.Food is good, prices good, but the reason that obliged the drive out of the way was the koi garden, nothing outside nor an aquarium inside :/

We were looking for a close to us Vietnamese restaurant and are so happy to have found Koi Gardens! The food is delicious and tastes fresh and the portions are more than generous. The pho broth is a bit sweet for my taste but can be adjusted with lime juice. Both the fried and spring rolls are good but I especially liked the potstickers. The green apple salad is a must try. Crunchy and just the right balance of tart and sweet. The Tom Ka coconut milk soup hits the spot every time! My son is especially fond of the pork vermicelli bowl. The owners are super friendly and accomodating which makes coming back a joy!

This place is great!!!! I got an order of the salad rolls and #2 pho. The salad rolls were filled with lettace, vermicelli noodles, chicken, and shrimp. The broth was so fragrant and delicious. I could smell it as soon as the waitress put the bowl on the table. Good amount of meat to noodle ratio as well. The place looked clean, and the server was super friendly. I definitely will be back.

I do most of my noodling on 82nd, south & closwer to home, but was visiting folks north of glisan and had accidentally come across this place on line. Mostly Vietnamese, but a couple of Thai and Korean dishes, and the lunch special board was mostly Chinese. I know pho is a benchmark for comparison, but didn't feel like, and had been wanting to try a bun rieu again, but went with the canh pham rao munong, which seemed the same except for "large" (turned out just a little wider) noodles. And I didn't expect the big wad of cool water spinach sitting on top of everything--nutritional. Rich, slightly sweet tomato broth, good amount of noodles, I like the blood, the tofu chewy but a little bland. The crab paste tasted mostly like meat loaf. Very good service. Kind of bland decor, small place, maybe there's a koi pond in the back--I didn't look.

A lot here is run of the mill comfort food but the service is superb and the pho broth here is better than most. The chicken wings are also excellent.

First time experience, and it was GREAT!While waiting for our large order to go, I couldn't help but notice how clean the place was. I drive by most every day without thinking to stop, but I won't make that mistake anymore. I will definitely be a repeat customer. The woman who took our order was incredibly nice and helpful. The menu is extensive, and my whole family loved the food. We will be back!
