After moving to Vancouver from Hawaii, we weren't sure how difficult it might be to find tasty Hawaiian/local food. Lucky for us, there are a number of great Hawaiian/local restaurants in the area. That being said, Kiawe Island Bistro ranks at the top! Visiting Kiawe Island Bistro makes you feel like you are back at home, popping into a local restaurant after a day at the beach. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, the music is great, and best of all, the food is "ono"! I had the Loco Moco and my husband had the Kalua Pig. The flavors are spot on and the portions were generous. We look forward to returning and having dessert next time, too!

We ordered catering from here for a work event and they were absolutely amazing. Their head chef came to set up the catering trays and he was so pleasant and kind. They were extremely efficient and the set up was lovely. Now for the food. The food was amazing. I cater lunches for guests semi-regularly and I've never had that many people come back for 2nds and 3rds. There was a LOT of food and it was almost completely gone by the time I left for the day.The head chef and assistant came back to take back their chafing trays and brought us a bunch of to-go boxes as well to make sure we could enjoy all the food.Highly recommend and I will be buying from them again.

I've been here a couple of times now, and I gotta say, it's one of the best Hawaiian food I've had around town. It feels like mom & pop store the moment you step in, with home-vibes. There's a self-service water station too, which only adds to the corner shop vibes.I've gotten multiple things at this point- loco moco, Japolo chicken, garlic chicken, kalbi, kalua pork with cabbage. The best? It's a definite tie between Japolo chicken and garlic chicken. That being said, they really know how to fry their chicken so that it's crispy, and also know how to douse them in sauce for that perfect sauce-chicken-breading ratio. This place is my to-go Hawaiian place now

I don't how to say this... but the food was pricey and it was NOT good. We spent $40 for 2 of us for very mediocre food.I got the Ahi poke with the spicy aioli ( at the recommendation of the employee). They sell it at "market price", but it is pricey! $20 for extremely salty food. It was drowning with so much siracha and other sauces, I couldn't even taste the fish. We also got "da mix" which you can choose two of their signature entrees. We got the Kalbi and garlic chicken. It comes with a very bland Mac salad and dry like the Sahara rice. The meats itself were not bad, but overall wasn't great.Located in a small strip mall.

Drove down from up north to attend a function in Vancouver. We are staying at a hotel near this location and made it a point to try this place out. Food was on point and cannot disappoint, probably, if not the best local food I tasted so far since living in Washington. Was able to meet chef Eric and small kine talk story. Was nice to meet you Chef Eric. Food was delicious and will be back again.
