One of my favorite meals I got in Oregon. The entire bowl of noodles have a wonderful balance to them. The broth is that richness that isn't too deep nor too light to support everything else in the bowl! My favorite part was all the sauces and the pickled chilis to change up the flavor! When I'm back in Portland this will be my first stop.

Wow! This place is AMAZING!I headed in hungry at around three in the afternoon and to be honest, it took me a bit to figure out what I wanted to order.I ordered the #7 dry with broth on the side. It came with noodles, greens perfectly prepared pork and four dumplings. It was SO perfect ordering it this way as I could add a little broth, drink a little broth on it's own or leave the broth along entirely.Everything was so delicious, I got stuffed pretty quickly and started to tear up because I couldn't eat anymore.

Apparently there is more to Portland than weird people and lousy weather. My son who lives there told me he would take me to his favorite noodle place. I was skeptical since I wasn't familiar with Portland. We ended up In an older neighborhood and pulled up to a small corner Thai Noodle place called Khao Moo Dang. The place is small and cozy with a simple menu which I love. I ordered the #11 Ba-Mhee Moo-Ob Haang. Which I believe translates to damned good noodles.First off it's a big bowl. I love eating and I almost didn't finish. Almost. I love it when Noodles are not over cooked. When they still have texture and these were prepared just right. The pork was not overly salty. The broth was slightly creamy but not thick. A great choice for a typical blustery day in Portland. So next time your weird friends who decided to move to Portland to follow their dream of opening a nude Yoga studio invite you to visit. Take them up on it but insist on a trip to Khao Moo Dang.Definitely Recommended.

One of my favorite stops when I'm food hopping in PDX. Their chili oil at the table is one of the best I've come across and packed with heat. Their pork belly is always incredibly crispy and fresh. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes and you always leave full.

Khao Moo Dang offers a satisfying experience for Thai food lovers. We tried the Tofu Curry Noodle, which was rich and flavorful with a nice balance of spice and creaminess, and the Ba-Mhee Tom Yum Dry Noodle, which had a great depth of flavor with a tangy, savory broth. Both dishes were hearty and delicious, with fresh ingredients and well-seasoned toppings. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service made for a great meal overall. A solid choice if you're craving authentic Thai flavors!

The second I got to Portland, I knew I would come straight here for food! This is my favorite restaurant in Portland. Excellent service. Food comes out so fast and it is incredibly tasty. Even though it's a small restaurant, the waiters work hard to make sure all of us have a seat. Definitely a must go every time we are in Portland!

Tldr confused by the flavors but I am also an Asian from California This place was also super hyped up to me and I had really high expectations. My general takeaway is that everything was too sweet. We ordered the Khao moo dang (#1), the tom kha noodle soup and tom yum noodle soup. The crispy pork was yummy, my favorite part of each dish. However, the sauces and soups were just confusingly sweet for me. For the #1 I ended up just scraping the sauce to the side so that it didn't touch my rice. The tom kha soup also had coconut cream in it? I don't think it usually does and it was also weirdly sweet. The tom yum was the same, much sweeter than I have ever had. It was just a confusing meal.

Portland was so many Thai restaurants, but I think Khao Moo Dang was one of my favorites. I transported me back to Thailand The crispy pork, the soup, the bbq pork sauce all tasted so authentic. People often ask how I survived living in Thailand if I can't eat spicy food. Truth is, there are so many dishes that aren't spicy (but are still so full of flavor) and ba mee (egg noodle dish pictured) and khao moo dang (rice dish pictured) are just a couple of my favorites. You order at the counter and find a seat. The staff will bring you your food. Service is quick. The place is clean with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating reminds me of the food stalls in Thailand :)I'll be thinking about this place until the next time I'm in Portland. Definitely try it out!

Wherever I'm traveling to, I love trying out what the dishes the city is known for. However, I MUST have a soup and noodle dish. One of the places we found was this & I'm glad that we did. The place looked so authentic and the owners & cooks were actually Thai so you know it's legit hah. They do have a good amount of choices on their menu so it was hard to make a selection. I ordered their Tom Yum noodle soup that had pork belly, pork meat that was thin sliced but super tender and marinated well, egg noodles, chopped up gai lan all while sitting in this refreshing creamy tom yum soup. Definitely one of the best Tom Yums I've had. My bf ordered one of the noodles soup served in a silky coconut broth, same toppings as mines above but the broth was simple yet flavorful and refreshing. My sister ordered their khao soi, which was equally as delicious.Their portion sizes are a bit big so if you don't finish, you can have for later!!They do give you sauces on the side but the soup is already so flavorful, you don't really need to add anything else. We also tried their sweetened Thai lemonade which was sweet but slightly sour, but V V REFRESHING.Overall, DEF coming back here to eat bc this was so yummy! You can see how the whole kitchen has a routine when working together so they were able to put stuff out beautifully, deliciously and still hot. The owners were very nice and efficient as well.

Absolutely LOVE this place! I crave it all the time honestly! I usually get the #6 soup style. Even on a warm day I still get the same thing, it's that good! Service is always very good and food comes out quick, even on a "busy" day. Love taking people visiting here from out of town too!
